Important message
I wanted to share this with everyone that has ever had doubts about making the investment in protective clothing and also about wearing all the gear all the time, even in very hot weather. I purchased these pants, along with the Women's Tour Master, Sonora Air, Hi-Vis jacket. I hate the heat and couldn't imagine having to wear this clothing in high heat and humidity. Well, today I had my tire blow out and I went down while driving on a highway and skidded down the highway on my side. I was ABSOLUTELY AMAZED that the only damage to these pants and the jacket was 1 small hole on both the jacket and pants about the size of a golf ball. I came away from the accident completely unharmed, not even the tiniest scratch. The fabric was incredibly tough and protected my skin 100% while the padding protected the rest of me. I want to stress to all of you, PLEASE SPEND THE MONEY ON THE PROPER SAFETY GEAR and ALWAYS WEAR IT. These pants, as well as the jacket performed perfectly and I would HIGHLY recommend them. As to the pants themselves, I found them to be very big; I actually had to go down 2 sizes even though I measured myself first and went by the measurement chart. My measurements are: Waist: 34.0”, Hip: 39.5”. I ended up with a size 40 and am on the curvy side through the butt and thighs. In regard to the fit on me, I find them to be snug through the thighs. At 5'2" they are several inches too long but at the time I bought them they didn't have a mesh pant in the price range I wanted that was a short length. It's not a deal breaker however since they zipper snugly enough at the ankle and have velcro at the ankle so that the legs stay in place over my boots. They are very wide through the calf, I would guess to accommodate a full height boot and also because they are too long. This can be annoying because the bunched up fabric rubs together and makes a swishing sound when you walk and feels bulky. I wear an ankle high motorcycle shoe/boot. The pants flow air moderately well. They are warm to wear in super hot weather because I wear them as an overpant over a pair of crop light weight pants since I like being able to take them off when I am going to be walking around town. I would imagine without pants underneath they would be looser and flow air much better. I got the black and they look really good on me. The inner zipper goes all the way up the inner leg making it easy to get them on and off when you already have your boots on. They ride high on the waist which I really like because of the extra protection. I rode with them in the early spring when it got down to the mid 40's and was cold riding. Even though they are mesh I put underarmour bottoms and jeans on underneath and was plenty warm so they can definitely be a 3 season overpant. Most important over everything else is that they did their job when I was doing a high speed skid along the ground. That is worth every cent that went into buying them. When I had my accident today it was 95 degrees and humid. I kept thinking how great it would be if I was one of those people who rode in shorts and tank top and had no worries about doing so. But I did the smart thing and had all my gear on and after I saw how these pants and the rest of my gear saved me from what could have been a lot of hurt, I would ask you guys to please take it seriously and don't let the money, heat or inconvenience stop you from riding with a full suit of gear. Also, dealing with Revzilla has been an absolute pleasure. One of the best companies I have ever dealt with, ever. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I bought all of my gear (helmet, jacket, pants, boots, bluetooth headset and extra back padding from them and every purchase arrived super quickly, sometimes even the day after I placed my order. I had to make a number of returns and it was hassle free every single time. Great product, great company. Strongly recommend both.

Excellent over pants!
When I ordered these pants I did not doubt the good quality of new Airwave models, my only concern was the fit. I am 5'6' wear size 2-4 jeans. I could probably get away with size 36 but after watching demo decided to go with size 38. The Airwave pants are a little loose around my waist #it's adjustable# over jeans but you wont be worring about losing them. Check out the pics.

Great summer pant
Bought these for my wife who has used them now a few times so we feel like we can actually comment. First off, the sizing chart is way off. My wife's measurements matched a 40 exactly except for 1 place where she was .5" smaller than the chart. The 40 we got were HUGE. She couldn't cinch the waist down anywhere near enough to wear and the waist line was up close to the underside of her chest when she sat down. Revzilla handled the exchange very well and since she dropped to a 38 the fit is much improved.

They provide plenty of room for wearing a pair of shorts or even close fitting jeans underneath. Very easy on and off for when we get to destinations or putting on over boots. Good quality construction looks to last for a while. Great product, once you get the right size.

Comfy pants, cute, and not super bulky
I am 5'4", 125 lbs, and wear size 6 jeans. I am entering this review under my husbands account. My waist is 28" and my hips are 38". I have curves and am definitely not a straight body type. These pants are very well vented and comfortable. i live in Lafayette, LA where summer is mid 90's with 60-90% humidity. It's a sauna down here! I got the white/silver pants in a size 38 and they fit great over other jeans, but when I ride I just wear some booty shorts underneath. The pants come up to my natural waist, not low rise, but that's great because I don't have to worry about gap in the back. They are thick enough material that my black booty shorts don't show through the white. I didn't feel like the Michelin Man in them. Especially if you live somewhere hot like myself, I would recommend these pants!

Great pants, do their job
Really enjoying my airwave pants, they're super breezy and fairly comfortable. They have a zipper on the back to attach to a jacket. I wear them over jeans, leggings, shorts, whatever. They do come up super high though, like basically to the bottom of my bra if not an inch or two shy (short torso here). Kinda wish they came with a liner or something, but they're great on hot days.

not a good product.
I have been riding for almost 20 years. So these are not my first pair of riding pants. The protective padding is quite thin. Also the full length zipper on the inside of the leg gets caught on the foot pegs if you are on the shorter side during take off / stopping. Possibly would be OK if you are a passenger only. I wore them one time and will never wear them again. I would rather be safe then sorry. Zippers should be on the outside or back of the leg.

Go to gear...
Finally something for women that is functional and not ugly. They fit like a nice pair of jeans. They slide on and off so easy d.t the inner theigh zipper that they are perfect over just about anything. They are made for summer wear- to go over some booty shorts or stretch pants, but I wear them spring and fall over jeans etc. They have the standard knee protectors but I would like to know a bit more about the mesh safety. I assume it's reasonable but I am a safety nerd. True to sizing. Zips into rev it jackets. I live in a very hot climate, they are super breathable and ok for this weather.

perfect pants!
These are without a doubt the absolute best summer pants you could hope to find. I measures myself carefully before ordering and ordered the size that my measurements corresponded to, did not size up or down, and they fit exactly right. The airflow is excellent, yet the protection afforded by the knee armor and hip pads makes me feel safer than jeans alone. I really apprecited being able to adjust the height of the knee armor also. I had worn a different brand of summer pants previously, but now I am a dedicated Rev'it fan!

Great riding pants
I have had these pants for a couple of months. They provide the protection I was looking for in a pant made for women. I am thankfully unsure of the durability of the product, but the actual construction seems very sound. I have very long legs that these actually work for me which is another plus. I highly recommend these pants.

These pants fit more fashionably.
I wanted a pair of vented pants that fit snugger through the legs. Most pants end up looking like snow pants. These pants were shaped to fit my body. I didn't mind wearing them off the bike.

I'm 5'6.5", 137lb, and my waist and hip measurements put me in two different sizes: 40 and 38. I want to wear these as overpants. Should I order based my waist size or hip size? I don't want them to be too baggy (if I order based on my waist), but I don't want to have to squeeze my stomach in if I order based hip size.
A shopper on Nov 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My height is the same , weight stays between 125 -130. I ordered the 34 and 36 to make sure which fit best. they both fit but 36 is more comfy with plenty of bending room, and definitely enough room to wear another thin layer underneath. Like leggins or long underwear. Hope this helps. I like the bigger ones for ventilation in the summer..
How does the mesh on this pant compare with the mesh on the Tornado pant? The Airwave seems to be a tighter mesh, does that translate into less cooling than the more open weave?
A shopper on Jun 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: i am not familiar with the tornado
Can these be worn without wearing a layer (jeans, shorts, etc) underneath?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Hi - yes you can wear them without a layer. I bought a size 38 (I am 5' 5" - 140lbs) and wear jeans/thick long underwear underneath for cold weather.

I also bought a size 36 so that I can wear them without an inner layer. There is a very thin black lining which prevents your skin from showing through the meshed areas. They are really comfortable and very flattering.

The zipper is on the inside of the pant which is good and bad. Good in that if you fall off the bike, you won't experience road rash from the zip gouging your skin. Bad in that the zips tends to swish when you walk - an annoyance at times but not purchase prohibitive.
I'm 5'0" with a 26" inseam. I'm looking for a pair of hot weather pants for a trip to Japan this summer. Does anyone make a petite length? Any product suggestions?
A shopper on Feb 28, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The REV'IT! Women's Airwave Pant is only available in standard lengths, however, there are a couple of other women's pants offered in the REV'IT! line up that can be purchased in short, standard, and tall lengths that might interest you. You might like the REV'IT! Women's Ventura pant or the Women's Gear 2 pant; both are offered in short, standard, and tall inseam lengths.
Which hip pads fits in these pants? Which hip pads provide the most protection? I just received these pants in the mail and would like to get some hip protection ASAP. I haven't had any luck finding the answers to these two questions so if you can also share a source for this information that would be greatly appreciated too. Thank you in advance.
A shopper on Mar 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: "Note: Rev'It! made a production change to all pant hip armor pockets in 2014. Your Rev'It! Pants must have hip armor pockets with a blue Tryonic label, as shown below, for these hip protectors to fit correctly. For pants that do not have the blue Tryonic label, use the SAS-TEC Replacement Hip Armor."

And, I'd ordered a size 44 which were too big for me and did not have the Tryonic label. So I sent them back for a size 42, which fit great, but did have the Tryonic label. So make sure to order the pants first, see if they fit right, and then order the appropriate hip armor to fit the ones you get.
Can the Joe Rocket jackets zip in with the Rev IT! women's pants?
A shopper on Jan 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Unsure. have not tried this.
Are the REV'IT! Women's Airwave Pants you have listed the standard version (i.e. not long or short versions)?
William L on Jun 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are the standard version. My wife is 5' 7", and she is somewhat long-waisted. She often has trouble with the fit of riding pants crotch to waist. These fit her very well, and, in fact, are the second pair she has bought.
My girlfriend is 5'5" tall, 120 lbs. What size RevIt pants would you recommend?
A shopper on Mar 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: probably size small because they long enough but the best way to find out is try them if she feels comfy in them
My size Is 4. 5'8''. What is my size?
