REV'IT! Women's Airwave Pants

The perfect match for the Airwave ladies' jacket, these trousers are also great summer over-pants to wear on top of your jeans when commuting. The large air mesh panels allow for maximum cooling, but that's not all: they're on and off in seconds, thanks to the long inside zippers. Reflective panels at the lower legs ensure great visibility at all times, and the fit is designed specifically for a woman's body. Even more, the Knox Flexiform CE-approved armor is located in height adjustable pockets, allowing you to position the armor just the way you like it. Available in classic black or daring off white.

  • Outer shell: polyester 600D, PWR|shell 500D stretch, PWR|shell mesh , polyester rib
  • Visibility: laminated reflection at calf
  • Protection: Knox Lite CE protection at knees, prepared for TRYONIC Seesoft CE-level 1 type B hip protector insert - version RV01 (sold separately)

  • Fit: tour fit , regular
  • Adjustability: adjustment straps at waist, adjustment tab at ankles
  • Ventilation: ventilation panels at legs
  • Features: easy entrance zipper at calf, adjustable protector pockets, short connection zipper, elastic at waistband
  • Pockets: slit pockets

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements.  REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone

REV'IT! Women's Airwave Pants 4.5 5 40 40
Decent! I can't stand heat and was roasting with my leathers in the swampy area I live. So, here we are! These pants flow a TON of air, it's pretty amazing. Some is blocked by my tank and by the knee armor, but it's as good as you're gonna get without being naked. Definitely added a few extra days of riding to my season that I wouldn't otherwise have done. The material is great quality like all my other revit stuff - no loose threads, good zippers, material doesn't feel cheap. The armor is alright. I'd recommend forcefield armor for the hips instead of the revit ones. It's what you'd expect from a light mesh piece of gear. My only issue: there is no padding or anything on the butt. It means that 1) it'll start hurting earlier if you're like me and regularly ride for 10 hrs at a time, and 2) the mesh you're sitting on (on your sitbones) is actually pretty rough and may irritate the heck out of your skin after a full day. I solved the issue by buying cheapo cycling shorts with a padded butt from amazon. I'm 5'4" 120, like a 29" inseam and 34-35" hips. I wear a size 34 for these pants, and the legs are a little long when I'm off the bike (just due to my short inseam). November 6, 2015
Great pants for high temps. I needed a new suit to ride the Backcountry Discovery Routes this past summer. Temps were often in the 90s-100s and my year 'round suit didn't vent well. The Airwave brought me the relief I needed! It fits great and I LOVE the full length zippers on the pants. What a treat to unzip the pant legs to cool off. This feature alone was well worth it. November 2, 2015
Not the best for small, short women I really wanted to like these, I've been wanting to try out and own a Rev'it jacket+pants set. In the end I returned them because they were much too big and long. I'm 5'3", waist 25, hips 33.5, inseam 28-29, and 100#. I wear a size 0 or 24/25 in casual pants. I ordered the 34, although the hips seemed too big according to the size chart. These pants were HUGE and FRUMPY. They fit terribly, unless one is supposed to wear them as overpants for thick or heavy-duty pants underneath. While I moved the fit slider to the very end of Large which said 1 size too large, these were 1.5 to 2 sizes too big for me! It was ridiculous and disappointing. I did appreciate the pants inseam zippers. The pants are nice and substantive while apparently serving hot weather needs (which led me to these). I wish Rev'it made size 32 (24-25 waist, 33-34 hips) in regular length for those of us who are quite small. They don't even make a 34 short. I understand that this brand originated in the Netherlands, so that could explain the sizes. On the other hand, Dainese (among other brands) seems to fit my proportions pretty well. August 20, 2015
Great flow, but still too bulky I bought these hoping for some protection during the Texas summer heat, but these still feel like snow pants. They do offer great protection for longer rides and the air flow is pretty good even in the heat, but these will work better come cooler weather. The fit is true to size chart and are they nicely adjustable, though at 5'2" these are too bulky down below. August 3, 2015
Great pants for commuting I commute about 25 minutes across the bay bridge into San Francisco. I wanted something for mild weather, but also the chilly San Francisco summers. Also convenience of putting on/off and comfort were high priorities. These pants fit the bill. I feel secure and comfy in them. I got them in white to increase visibility. Only nit-pick comment is that I don't like the front zipper placement. It's a bit odd looking because it's exposed and goes right up the crotch. I wish they would have put a flap over it. July 27, 2015
Perfect in Texas heat I'm new to motorcycling and all of these products can overwhelm me. I get too much advice from everyone. Too much sometimes. Not when it came to these. I am very happy with them. I've been out in the Texas sun and have loved these. I did not feel the sun at all. I'm often outside (I run and I ride my bicycle to work); I know when the sun is beating down on me. They look and feel great. They cinch at the waist, so I don't look like a storm trooper. I have found them easy to slip on over shorts and jeans. I've also found them easy to get out of when I want to enter a restaurant in my pedestrian get up. It's my second Rev'It! purchase, and I feel that I have swallowed that Kool-aid! I've not had a situation where I can judge it for protection and durability. Yay. July 21, 2015
Important message I wanted to share this with everyone that has ever had doubts about making the investment in protective clothing and also about wearing all the gear all the time, even in very hot weather. I purchased these pants, along with the Women's Tour Master, Sonora Air, Hi-Vis jacket. I hate the heat and couldn't imagine having to wear this clothing in high heat and humidity. Well, today I had my tire blow out and I went down while driving on a highway and skidded down the highway on my side. I was ABSOLUTELY AMAZED that the only damage to these pants and the jacket was 1 small hole on both the jacket and pants about the size of a golf ball. I came away from the accident completely unharmed, not even the tiniest scratch. The fabric was incredibly tough and protected my skin 100% while the padding protected the rest of me. I want to stress to all of you, PLEASE SPEND THE MONEY ON THE PROPER SAFETY GEAR and ALWAYS WEAR IT. These pants, as well as the jacket performed perfectly and I would HIGHLY recommend them. As to the pants themselves, I found them to be very big; I actually had to go down 2 sizes even though I measured myself first and went by the measurement chart. My measurements are: Waist: 34.0”, Hip: 39.5”. I ended up with a size 40 and am on the curvy side through the butt and thighs. In regard to the fit on me, I find them to be snug through the thighs. At 5'2" they are several inches too long but at the time I bought them they didn't have a mesh pant in the price range I wanted that was a short length. It's not a deal breaker however since they zipper snugly enough at the ankle and have velcro at the ankle so that the legs stay in place over my boots. They are very wide through the calf, I would guess to accommodate a full height boot and also because they are too long. This can be annoying because the bunched up fabric rubs together and makes a swishing sound when you walk and feels bulky. I wear an ankle high motorcycle shoe/boot. The pants flow air moderately well. They are warm to wear in super hot weather because I wear them as an overpant over a pair of crop light weight pants since I like being able to take them off when I am going to be walking around town. I would imagine without pants underneath they would be looser and flow air much better. I got the black and they look really good on me. The inner zipper goes all the way up the inner leg making it easy to get them on and off when you already have your boots on. They ride high on the waist which I really like because of the extra protection. I rode with them in the early spring when it got down to the mid 40's and was cold riding. Even though they are mesh I put underarmour bottoms and jeans on underneath and was plenty warm so they can definitely be a 3 season overpant. Most important over everything else is that they did their job when I was doing a high speed skid along the ground. That is worth every cent that went into buying them. When I had my accident today it was 95 degrees and humid. I kept thinking how great it would be if I was one of those people who rode in shorts and tank top and had no worries about doing so. But I did the smart thing and had all my gear on and after I saw how these pants and the rest of my gear saved me from what could have been a lot of hurt, I would ask you guys to please take it seriously and don't let the money, heat or inconvenience stop you from riding with a full suit of gear. Also, dealing with Revzilla has been an absolute pleasure. One of the best companies I have ever dealt with, ever. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I bought all of my gear (helmet, jacket, pants, boots, bluetooth headset and extra back padding from them and every purchase arrived super quickly, sometimes even the day after I placed my order. I had to make a number of returns and it was hassle free every single time. Great product, great company. Strongly recommend both. July 18, 2015
Easy Choice These pants are a bit roomy.. but as they are intended to be an overpant they are pretty perfect. They go on over jeans or shorts. I like the leg zipper on the inside. July 13, 2015

A shopper asked: Can these be worn without wearing a layer (jeans, shorts, etc) underneath? Aug 13, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Judith S: Hi - yes you can wear them without a layer. I bought a size 38 (I am 5' 5" - 140lbs) and wear jeans/thick long underwear underneath for cold weather.

I also bought a size 36 so that I can wear them without an inner layer. There is a very thin black lining which prevents your skin from showing through the meshed areas. They are really comfortable and very flattering.

The zipper is on the inside of the pant which is good and bad. Good in that if you fall off the bike, you won't experience road rash from the zip gouging your skin. Bad in that the zips tends to swish when you walk - an annoyance at times but not purchase prohibitive.

Theresa C: It depends on your sizing. There are two adjustment straps around the waist which allows you to cinch the pants a bit tighter depending on the fabric of your pants (I switch between cargo and jeans depending on my work day).

With regards to the waist, though I've never just wore the pants by themselves, I surmise that if you are at the tightest adjustment while wearing a layer underneath, it'll be too loose when you don't wear a layer. On the other hand, if your adjustment is just at the midpoint or maybe on the wider side when you've got a layer, you should be able to wear the pants without layers by cinching the adjustments tighter.

With regards to the legs, these pants are quite loose around the legs for me. They're not tapered like some of the more racing oriented gear, so if you're not wearing any layer, you're going to feel a little weird with all that extra space/air in your legging.

Andrew E: (I am writing this through my husband's account.)

YES - these CAN be worn without a layer underneath. They are the most comfortable and breathe the best WITHOUT a layer underneath. They are NOT see-through.

That being said, I use these as over pants because I commute to work on my bike, and can't be bothered to change in and out of them. I find that even with wearing a layer underneath, they are still relatively comfortable and still breathe pretty well. If I were going out for a longer ride and not commuting to work, I would wear these without a layer underneath for increased comfort and airflow.

Anthony C: While these "could be" worn without any layer underneath, they are see through. Granite the see through mesh is mostly in the legs, but I still think it would be a bit strange to only wear these with underwear. I guess that would be personal preference though....I would say these would be good with a pair of armored shorts, but really the armored shorts are shorts. FYI - I use these over pants or shorts and I always take them off when I reach my destination. They are really that easy to unzip and take off, assuming you take off your shoes or boots. If you only wear shoes, you can slide shoes through. Aug 13, 2013

A s: Hi! Yes, they can be worn without a layer underneath, with an undergarment being the one exception. If that were the one garment worn, I'd recommend a dark color. I've worn these with either shorts, light leggings, jeans, or heated pants underneath, and of course always with mid-calf riding boots. The materials are not scratchy, which is great. The mesh is really good, even though its fairly dense. They're also easy/quick to get on and off.
I love these pants, and wear them on nearly all rides.
Hope this helps!!

Kris O: Yes, they are very comfortable without pants underneath because of the softer material lining the inside. I usually wear thin shorts because they don't have much room, at least in my case, for additional layers. They need to be hand-washed, so by wearing a layer I don't have to wash them each time, since they are a bit bulky. (Must remember to remove protection/armor to wash, btw.)
I am 5'8" and weigh about 124 lbs and the 36's fit very well.

Colleen M: Yes, they absolutely can be worn without wearing a layer. In fact that is how I ride in them. I live in Phoenix, AZ and purchased the white version for summer riding. They have worked exceptionally well and I receive compliments on how well they look on me. I am 5'7", 170# and wear the size 42. I highly recommend these pants Aug 26, 2013

Tom D: Hi, I purchased the revit womens airwave pants for a motorbike tour we did in Thailand, I didn't wear any pants underneath and they were perfect, breeze could still get through and they were really comfortable, if you really wanted to wear something underneath I would suggest leggings. Extremely happy with them!! Aug 18, 2013

Roland D: Bought these for my girl friend for whom they did not fit but fit me perfectly. These are my daily commute wear with just my underwear. Starts getting a little to cool to wear these with temps less than 65 deg on a non faired bike at highway speeds. Skin cannot be seen through the robust but airish weave. Aug 13, 2013
Reply to Roland Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
David G: I bought these for my wife in black. She is confident that they are not see through. The material is comfortable enough to be next to the skin without abrasion or chafing. So, yes they can be worn without layering. She did say she wasn't sure if they were white in color. Hope this helps. Aug 14, 2013

cheryl c: i have always just worn underwear or cycling shorts under these. it is very hot where i live and it seems to defeat the purpose of being cool if you layer under them. they have a smooth liner in them that makes them comfortable against your skin. Aug 14, 2013
Reply to cheryl Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael C: Sure the liner is soft enough. I wear them to work over my Dockers, and on weekends over shorts, so I made sure they were big enough for that. Keep that in mind if you think you will be using them as over pants also. Aug 13, 2013

BARBARA N: Yes you can. Barb wears them like jeans. Summers are just too hot here in North Carolina to wear an additional layer under the Rev'Its. Hope this helps you make a decision. Barb really likes the fit and style. Aug 13, 2013

RevZilla: The REV'IT! Women's Airwave Pant is only available in standard lengths, however, there are a couple of other women's pants offered in the REV'IT! line up that can be purchased in short, standard, and tall lengths that might interest you. You might like the REV'IT! Women's Ventura pant or the Women's Gear 2 pant; both are offered in short, standard, and tall inseam lengths. May 2, 2012

Brooke B.: the revit airwave pants in size 34 fit me well- I didn't have to have them hemmed (not sure if that would even be possible to do easily). I'm 5'0" and 110 lbs, with an inseam that's about 26". Aug 24, 2012

A shopper asked: Which hip pads fits in these pants? Which hip pads provide the most protection? I just received these pants in the mail and would like to get some hip protection ASAP. I haven't had any luck finding the answers to these two questions so if you can also share a source for this information that would be greatly appreciated too. Thank you in advance. Mar 20, 2014

Jennifer M: "Note: Rev'It! made a production change to all pant hip armor pockets in 2014. Your Rev'It! Pants must have hip armor pockets with a blue Tryonic label, as shown below, for these hip protectors to fit correctly. For pants that do not have the blue Tryonic label, use the SAS-TEC Replacement Hip Armor."

And, I'd ordered a size 44 which were too big for me and did not have the Tryonic label. So I sent them back for a size 42, which fit great, but did have the Tryonic label. So make sure to order the pants first, see if they fit right, and then order the appropriate hip armor to fit the ones you get.

A s: Hi! These pants came with soft hip pads and I've just been using those. I realize they wouldn't offer any real protection, but did not explore finding a different pad. Let me say that I love these pants, though. I've managed to fit heated pants inside and greatly extended my riding year. These are very quick and easy to get on and off---a real plus. The mesh is quite breathable, but it's also quite warm with another layer underneath--from jeans to heated pants w/cotton tights. I he you enjoy them, and good luck finding a better pad!!!!! A shopper asked: I'm 5'6.5", 137lb, and my waist and hip measurements put me in two different sizes: 40 and 38. I want to wear these as overpants. Should I order based my waist size or hip size? I don't want them to be too baggy (if I order based on my waist), but I don't want to have to squeeze my stomach in if I order based hip size. Nov 1, 2015

Libby H: My height is the same , weight stays between 125 -130. I ordered the 34 and 36 to make sure which fit best. they both fit but 36 is more comfy with plenty of bending room, and definitely enough room to wear another thin layer underneath. Like leggins or long underwear. Hope this helps. I like the bigger ones for ventilation in the summer.. Nov 3, 2015

Tracey A: Hi, I'm about the same height, a bit larger..i was chosing between the 42 and 44. I chose the smaller size, they go well over leggings, my preferred underlayer. If i was wearing them over jeans I'd get the larger size. Mine are snug and high wasted, quite flattering. Love the inside leg zips for easier on/off. Nov 4, 2015

james h: They are the standard version. My wife is 5' 7", and she is somewhat long-waisted. She often has trouble with the fit of riding pants crotch to waist. These fit her very well, and, in fact, are the second pair she has bought. Jun 22, 2015

Tracey A: They are standard...I am 5'6", longish legs...they fit perfectly, but can be cinched at the ankle for someone a little shorter, if required. Jun 22, 2015

freerider74: probably size small because they long enough but the best way to find out is try them if she feels comfy in them Mar 26, 2012

A shopper asked: How does the mesh on this pant compare with the mesh on the Tornado pant? The Airwave seems to be a tighter mesh, does that translate into less cooling than the more open weave? Jun 10, 2014
