REV'IT Seesoft RV01 Hip Protectors

The REVIT Tryonic Seesoft hip protectors are made of a highly impact-resistant blend of synthetic memory foam that is multi-impact rated and CE Certified to the European standard EN1621-1:2012. The protectors are composed of multiple layers. The memory foam will absorb the first impact but the transmitted energy to the joint is further reduced by the shifting layer concept. The different layers employ a unique shifting-layer feature that provides extra protection in the even of a crash. When the protector is under the impact, the individual memory foam layers will shift relative to each other, which disperses the force of the crash over a larger surface area and effectively minimizes the force that is transmitted to the body.

Sold as a pair.

Note: Rev'It! made a production change to all pant hip armor pockets in 2014. Your Rev'It! Pants must have hip armor pockets with a blue Tryonic label, as shown below, for these hip protectors to fit correctly. For pants that do not have the blue Tryonic label, use the SAS-TEC Replacement Hip Armor.

A must have upgrade if safety is your concern I bought these as an upgrade for the foam inserts on my Rev'it Sand 2 pants. Inserting them into the pants is a bit of a chore, as they seem to be cut the opposite way you would expect them to be (or at least that is how it looks form the instructions). It takes some patience to get them in place, as the fit is VERY tight. This, however, seems to be the case anytime I replace this type of armor. But once in place, they blend so well with the pant design that I frankly forgot I had them there until I got to write this review. Seriously, you do no notice them in place, but they offer solid protection and are made with top grade/high tech materials. I did a 6,500 mile trip wearing these pants every day, so I know they are comfortable. August 19, 2014
REV'IT! Seesoft Hip Protector RV01 The REV'IT! Seesoft Hip Protector RV01 fits perfectly in my Tornado pants, seems like good protection for the $$$ and hope I never have to rely on it. Used to the SASTEC type hip protectors used on my defender pants which may seem a bit thicker. July 21, 2014
Should have come with the pants Fit and feel great in my REV’IT! Airwave. Wished the pants would have come with them, but at least the price wasn’t too bad. June 5, 2014
good added protection I purchased these to go with my Rev'It Airwave Pants. I question why these do not come with pants. The pants are not cheap, yet if we are gonna protect our selfs from road rash then price is 2nd. At the same time it makes no sense to me why the pants came with out. These are much needed . Im glad I have these. Pants are excellent with summer heat ! June 4, 2014

A shopper asked: I have the Sand 2 pants , which I bought 3 months ago, but according to RevZilla, this protector won't fit them since they don't have the Tryonic tag on them. However, when I remove the current protectors they are very similar to the RV01 shape. So, does the RV01 fit? Sep 6, 2014

Jac C asked: How tight should these fit in the 2014 Airwave pants? (They have the blue tag).

I tried putting them in, and they are really tight , not sure if I can close the velcro. I understand you don't want them moving around, I just want to make sure I am doing it right!

Thanks!

Laurie S: Jac,

I have installed these in my Revit Airwaves and even removed and reinstalled to wash them once (pants not the pads). My Airwaves are size large and the protectors do entirely and snugly fit the pocket made for them. Once they are completely fitted to the perimeter of the pocket the velcro closure works fine without any stretching.

Make sure the protector is fully unrolled and aligned with all the edges of the pocket before trying to close the velcro. Also make sure to follow the directions to put them in the correct orientation, and the right one in the right pocket, proper side up and proper face outward.

They are quite comfortable to wear and don't bother me at all while wearing them.

Paul O: I can't say for the men's pants, but for my wife's Revit Airwave pants I would say they fit just perfect in the hip pocket (as in the pocket was designed for the thickness and shape of the hip protectors). Make sure the blue is facing the inside toward your body of the pants, and also make sure they are on the correct side (I think they say on the protectors "left" and "right"). You shouldn't have any issues closing the velcro closure once the protectors are fully inside the pocket. Good Luck! Jun 25, 2014

VICTOR M: Takes a little force to insert them and wiggle around to get them seated. Make sure upper side is inside the pocket, else if it sticks out you can't close the velcro. Jun 25, 2014

Bruce Y: Well I do not have the same model pants you are asking about but the seesoft hip pads are very flexible . I actually trimmed them to fit both my Revit pants and my wifes.
They definitely offer more protection than what came with the pants and fir $19.99 well worth the price.
