This Roadmaster vest is very nice under Rev'IT jackets for added warmth and wind-blockage without adding bulk. Vest is thin and light and VERY insulating. Will definitely extend your riding season. This vest is identical to the Upsilon jacket - which is just the sleeved version of the Roadmaster. Vest (and jacket) has a very nice finish and easily looks nice wearing it by itself, it could easily be worn off the bike and as your everyday outerwear - it is very warm and comfortable to wear. Worn under my Rev'It Turbine mesh jacket, it makes a world of difference when the temperature cools. It absolutely blocks wind - it does not allow any cold wind to seep in. I also wear it under my Siren, Dragon for the men, and it makes it markedly warmer too. I often remove the insulating layer that came with my Siren and instead wear the Roadmaster or Upsilon underneath as it makes the jacket significantly warmer. Both Roadmaster vest and Upsilon jacket do run small - have an extremely close / tight fit. I originally ordered the Medium but had to exchange it for Large. One problem with the fit could just be that I am female and it is cut for male, so the hip was too tight on the M. A male using the size chart will probably find their perfect fit without too much trouble but the women may very easily have trouble with fit - especially through the hips. I am almost 6' tall, so it makes it a little easier for me to get away with wearing a men's version. Other issue that I find that may not bother others, or the intended male wearer, is that the neck is rather stiff and rough feeling against your skin and chin. This becomes more of an issue when the vest is worn under another jacket that also has a tall zip up collar - can quickly become too much stuff around your neck. Rev'It could address this issue by making the collar of the vest (or Upsilon jacket etc.) with a very soft and pliable material and also offsetting the zipper so everything doesn't zip directly under your chin creating a big wad of stiff rough fabric that rubs against your skin and irritates every time you move your head. The ideal solution in my opinion would be to also incorporate a hidden zipper that would allow the entire neck of the vest or jacket to be removed. Zipping off the collar when the garment is being worn as an insulating layer under another jacket and zipping it back on when the rider wants to wear this vest, or Upsilon jacket , etc., as their top / outer layer. It might drive up the cost a little but to me the added versatility could be worth it. Hey, for that matter, why have the fully separate Upsilon jacket?? Rev'It, why not allow the sleeves from the Upsilon to be attached to the vest via a hidden shoulder zipper? One jacket that can do many things... that is what I am looking for — this current offering is getting close but could still be better.
