It straight up does the job and is comfortable too I bought this because I wanted to ride in Northern Virginia winters but am pretty soft when it comes to cold air blasts. I have circled the block and said no thanks in sub 50 degree weather. Enter the Maximus. I have a shaved head so this thing fit perfect and kept sweat from my helmet liner. The material stretched to well below my jacket line, so I was completely covered. I took it out on I-66 at 80mph 43 degrees and I felt no wind. Heard it but didn't feel it on my neck. This pushed my riding temps down to the lower 30s and helped my put some miles on even in the winter! True wind stopping power! April 19, 2015
Great for colder rides This is my first Rev'it product and it did'nt disappoint. It stops the wind on my neck but is not too hot on my head. It tucks in nicely to my Rev'it Outback jacket and doesn't pull out with any movement, headchecks, etc. It is very thin material where it covers my head but still adds some warmth without making my helmet too tight. I wear a size large Shoei RF1100 and the small balaclava fits me perfectly. The only gripe I can make is that it slides down when I put my helmet on (from covering my nose to just covering my mouth). Ultimately not a big deal. Having my neck cold is a large factor in my choice not to ride below 50 degrees. This product kept my neck comgortable on a 30 degree highway ride. I cannot overstate the advantages of using this product! March 24, 2015
Warm and comfortable The day I received this, I took it out for a spin in 25 degree F weather and, while I was dodging ice spots and my fingers were about to fall off, my head and neck were completely comfortable. I was pretty amazed, because it's fairly thin, but however the "windstopper" fabric is constructed makes it very protective. And since it's thin, it fits nicely under a helmet without feeling bulky or uncomfortable (I wear a full-face helmet and it never feels awkward to me). Size - I agree with the video, I think most people would wear the SM size. A really great product. I highly recommend this if you ride a lot in the annoyingly cold months. February 23, 2015
Oh Heck Yeah! This is one of the best gear I bought. Wore this on 30 F at +/-70 mph for 4 hrs and kept my neck not feeling cold at all. February 9, 2015
Large might have been too big, but small could be a little bigger. This revit product is really nice, just used it for a week long trip to Vancouver island were the temps were about 32F-40F works like a charm. pretty sure your supposed to wear it over your nose like in the picture but it fogged my visor up so bad I wear it just below my nose and its actually more comfortable that way. these are supposed to be a snug fit and it works better when it is so I'm sure the large would have been too big. I wear a 7 hat and a large helmet. ultra comfortable and worth every penny. Although the bib flaps up from time to time and is annoying it works well to keep the wind and rain out. February 2, 2015
Almost Perfect I needed something to keep me warm during the winter commute - 45 highway miles in one direction. This balaclava has a great slim and comfortable fit. No pressure points. Keeps you perfectly warm. Wind and cold can't touch you. All that said, it's hard to keep from stretching the front where it covers your nose when you slip on your helmet. Once that happens it just sits lose against your nose and fogs up your visor. At that point I would just pull it down off my nose and go. I ended up buying an open face balaclava and using a breath box instead. Not as warm this way, but it's been my best option so far. I bet this would work much better with my open face helmet, but at the speed and distance I have to travel I prefer to use my full face helmet during the winter. January 13, 2015
Great product Awesome product well worth the money. Keeps me warm so far. I have used it in mid 30 degree weather. And expect to use it in lower temperatures. Also does a good job of keeping my visor clear from being foggy. December 8, 2014
overpriced and poorly designed This item fit poorly and did not provide adequate insulation from the elements. Per the videos recommendation I got the small, even though I wear a large helmet. The garment fit loosely which meant it shifted and did not cover nose. The nape of the neck was not long enough. Air came in through the back of my jacket. I would not recommend this item. Victor M: I wear a Large Shoei RF-1100 helmet and the small fits well. The large was way to loose making the material around the nose to fall off the face with the helmet on. Product was excellent in providing comfort in 32-40F degree weather at highway speeds. Apr 4, 2014
Richard l: This item is totally wind proof...... but additional scarf is needed for warmth. Feb 20, 2014
Anita M: I recently purchased a 3/4 helmet and find that it fits so comfortably that I would like to wear it in the winter and will need additional protection to keep my neck and face warm. Since this balaclava is rated for light rain and wind protection, I thought I'd give it a try. Sep 9, 2013
