Great for riding in the cold
This is not the first balaclava that I have used but is definitely the best. The front bib does its job and blocks all wind from the neck area with no leaks or drafts. It fits comfortably on the head and does not have any thick seems to create pressure points under your helmet.

Despite having a mesh area around the mouth and nose to exhale through, I do notice an increased tendency to fog my visor when stopped or travelling very slowly. Overall its a quality balaclava that does everything its supposed to.

Large might have been too big, but small could be a little bigger.
This revit product is really nice, just used it for a week long trip to Vancouver island were the temps were about 32F-40F works like a charm. pretty sure your supposed to wear it over your nose like in the picture but it fogged my visor up so bad I wear it just below my nose and its actually more comfortable that way. these are supposed to be a snug fit and it works better when it is so I'm sure the large would have been too big. I wear a 7 hat and a large helmet. ultra comfortable and worth every penny. Although the bib flaps up from time to time and is annoying it works well to keep the wind and rain out.

A must have below 10C/50F
I have lived in many cold weather states and I ride as much as possible. This is bar none the best balaclava I have ever owned; it has been used it down to -15C/5F.I have used ones designed for skiing and motorcycle specific ones in the past as well. I also used the Rev’it Blaze it was terrible waaay too big and loose. The Maximus fits well for my enormous head (I wear a 7-3/4 hats XL Shoei Helmets) in the Large version. It is very easy on, easy off; the material is very soft and feels nice against the skin. It fits very well under a helmet, no pressure points. The material the covers your nose is the same material that covers the rest of you head and the back of your neck, a lightweight, breathable, stretchy material. Below that, right were your mouth would be is a large weave mesh panel approximately 1” by 2” that won’t build up moisture. The rest of front is Gore wind stopper material. The wind stopper material extends from your bottom lip to the hem and forward facing 180 degrees. The panels are anatomically correct to allow it fit well and not bunch up. Whether I wear the balaclava with my Rev’it Defender or my Dainese Speed Naked; It does an outstanding job keeping me warm and dry.

Warm and comfortable
The day I received this, I took it out for a spin in 25 degree F weather and, while I was dodging ice spots and my fingers were about to fall off, my head and neck were completely comfortable. I was pretty amazed, because it's fairly thin, but however the "windstopper" fabric is constructed makes it very protective. And since it's thin, it fits nicely under a helmet without feeling bulky or uncomfortable (I wear a full-face helmet and it never feels awkward to me).

Size - I agree with the video, I think most people would wear the SM size.

A really great product. I highly recommend this if you ride a lot in the annoyingly cold months.

great for my intended use
I have worn this item about five times in temps that dropped down into the low 20s. The wind stopper worked wonderfully. The only thing I don't like is that when I put my helmet on it bunches the neck up in turn causing the material to pull away from my face under my eyes. All in all I have no regrets in buying this item.

soon to be in the corner of some drawer
Decent ninja hood. It's very stretchy around the head so small works fine in a large helmet. The collar at the back of the neck and shoulders isn't very long so it leaks a draft if I move my head around a lot. I bought this one because it doesn't have a seam down the middle like a mohawk, but two along the male pattern baldness lines which makes it more comfortable. Also nice is the lack of seams around the eyes, but the flip side to that is there's not a lot of structure there - the fabric is limp and moves around when I put the helmet on. Further, the stretchiness doesn't help in this regard. It's a good design, but there's a huge amount of room for improvement. Sorry, REV'IT!, but there are better options.

overpriced and poorly designed
This item fit poorly and did not provide adequate insulation from the elements. Per the videos recommendation I got the small, even though I wear a large helmet. The garment fit loosely which meant it shifted and did not cover nose. The nape of the neck was not long enough. Air came in through the back of my jacket. I would not recommend this item.

Efficient and wearable
I have been riding 52 years and live in the New Jersey, Riding all year averaging about 20,000 miles a year I needed a balaclava that will do the job, best one I have owned. I purchased this one in large and found it to big and settled on the small which fits perfectly, gave the large to my son. All in all between the workmanship, the bib and breath-ability this has proved to be one of the best accessory items I have purchased.

It straight up does the job and is comfortable too
I bought this because I wanted to ride in Northern Virginia winters but am pretty soft when it comes to cold air blasts. I have circled the block and said no thanks in sub 50 degree weather. Enter the Maximus. I have a shaved head so this thing fit perfect and kept sweat from my helmet liner. The material stretched to well below my jacket line, so I was completely covered. I took it out on I-66 at 80mph 43 degrees and I felt no wind. Heard it but didn't feel it on my neck. This pushed my riding temps down to the lower 30s and helped my put some miles on even in the winter! True wind stopping power!

The REV'IT Maximus WSP Balaclava is fine quality product.
The Maximus is the best balaclava I've had. It will keep you warm with out making you sweat. It fits comfortably on me even with my full face helmet on. At times, I forget I have it on. It's not bulky at all. It also provides excellent upper torso coverage. I've ridden it in the low 40F/upper 30F weather and it keeps the chill out fine. Yeah, I highly recommend it!

I wear a Large Shoei RF-1100 helmet and the small fits well. The large was way to loose making the material around the nose to fall off the face with the helmet on. Product was excellent in providing comfort in 32-40F degree weather at highway speeds.
Victor M on Apr 4, 2014
This item is totally wind proof...... but additional scarf is needed for warmth.
Richard l on Feb 20, 2014
I recently purchased a 3/4 helmet and find that it fits so comfortably that I would like to wear it in the winter and will need additional protection to keep my neck and face warm. Since this balaclava is rated for light rain and wind protection, I thought I'd give it a try.

Can this be worn under your jacket?
Tony H on Jan 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I do, just make sure to turn your head to the left and right to loosen it up a little so it doesn't restrict your head movement.
would this work to keep sun out in hot weather? a all season type thing as i dont want to wash my helment
A shopper on May 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have been wearing this face mask every single time i wear my helmet and ride for the same reason you are asking, bc i dont want to ruin the pads in my helmet. And yeah it does block out sun, wind, and all that. It's nice to wear in the winter bc it blocked the cold air and its ok in the summer. If you keep moving its fine but if you stop and are stuck in traffic alot and its 80+ out it does get pretty hot. But i do wear mine all season everytime for almost 2 years now and it's a really good balaclava
I where a large Shark Evolinr 3 ST Moovit Lumi. Should I get a small or large?
Nicholas M on Jan 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Either one will fit u well but the material is very stretchy so im 90% sure that the small will fit u perfectly
Is the top half covering the head also wind resistant or just the bottom chest area ?
NinjaFrank on Dec 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The top half is not wind resistant. Only the lower part of the face, the front of the neck and chest are wind resistant.
