Good enough for Arizona The title says it all. I live in Tucson, Arizona and this jacket has completely met all hopes and expectations. I wore the jacket on a ride out to California at the beginning of June, when temperatures aren't below 90 degrees from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm, and it was a significantly cool ride. The ventilation is great and as long as you are moving on the bike, you WILL NOT get overheated. You basically realize that it is hot out only when you have come to a stop. Additionally, the only areas I noticed get a little sweaty after a few hours were at the elbows, but that is to be expected with the riding position. I bought the white colored jacket and think it looks great. The jacket fits great, it has that European style to it so it is a slight slim fit to it. I am 5'11, with about a 39 inch chest and the medium fits me perfectly. July 23, 2014
Good fit, very good construction, works in the heat. Just did a 200 mile ride with the temperature in the upper 80's. Believe it or not, that's the warmest it has been here in Minnesota this summer. I tried four other mesh jackets before deciding on the Rev'it GT-R Air primarily based on fit and construction. I'm 6'0 175 pounds with a 40" chest and 36" sleeves. Most of the jackets I tried would have sleeves that were way too short when the jacket fit my torso. The GT_R Air in size large fit perfectly in the torso and sleeves. The mesh works well to keep you cool. I'd say it is as cool as a t-shirt, or even cooler as it keeps the sun off while letting the air flow through. Another pocket or two would be welcome - the outside pockets are a bit difficult to reach. This is the reason I rated the jacket a 4 instead of a 5. Construction is quite good with decent zippers and good snaps. It appears to be very well put together. The armor stays put right where it should be and is plenty comfortable. The main zipper is left handed which takes a little getting used to, but is no big deal. All in all, a very nice jacket for staying protected in hot weather without being cooked. July 21, 2014
Amazing airflow, want better pockets. I honestly couldn't believe how much air this jacket lets through. I live in Houston and the weather can get pretty unbearable. This jacket will let you fell cooler with a t-shirt under it than a light plad shirt. Only providing with good protection. The jacket fits well (I'm 5'10" and 175lbs) and it looks good. The only downside is I wish the front pocket zippers zipped down not up. Haven't had the pockets unzip on me, but it seems like they could. Other than that it's a great jacket. July 17, 2014
Solid product, just a bit tight I bought this jacket to have a nice high-end summer mesh jacket. To that end, it is spot on. It has lots of protective features, lots of ventilation, some reflective features and the overall quality/fit-finish seems to be worth what you pay. The price point is dead on for what you get, if not more. It's on the mid to low end in terms of textile jackets but with all the premium features. Airflow is pretty excellent while moving, you can feel the breeze move through it at stops if the wind is strong enough. I am in South Carolina and unfortunately what wind there is just carries more humidity. Once you get down the road it gives you lots of ventilation while still feeling confident that you are protected. The styling looks good, and the pictures on revzilla do it plenty of justice. It's very much a Euro style that's eye catching. I am a fan of the way the collar closes without being all up around your neck. Comfort wise it is quite nice, the elbows have an almost accordion feature that helps you keeps some flexibility even with a pre bent elbow design. There is an optional cool suit type vest you can get if the airflow alone isn't good enough...I did not have to buy that... yet. Fit was a bit tight for me. If you have any doubts, I would definitely go up a size as it does right a touch tight. Not only does the chest fit almost exactly as I measured without a ton of wiggle room, if you have any sort of muscle in your arms, the upper arms feel restricted even with the adjuster all the way out. I also wish there was an adjuster at the wrist for certain glove designs but mine fit fine so I won't complain too much about that. Safety features are abundant from reflective material to belt loops, to armor in the arms and shoulders. It's nice that the shoulder pads don't totally try to make you look like you're trying to wear an 80s suit. I added the CE back armor and it fits perfectly, I will also review that separately! I haven't had to test it's protection yet and I hope this jacket is eye catching enough to prevent having to. Overall, it's a solid purchase and I don't regret it a bit. Enjoy your summer riding season with this jacket! July 16, 2014
Awesome looks, comfortable, and great airflow. I wanted to get an affordable jacket that wasn't too hot for Texas weather that looked good and provided adequate protection. This jacket by Rev'it definitely fits the bill. The fit isn't perfect for me, but it's true to the sizing chart. I'm 5'11" around 165 lbs and ordered a Large. The length is perfect, but it's just a touch looser than I would prefer, which is exactly what I expected given the dimensions. July 15, 2014
Great Summer Jacket I've owned several other brands including Dianese and this Rev IT is the best I've had. July 15, 2014
Airflow is exactly what I needed, once I got the fit Had to return the first, since it runs a bit small (the Euro fit), but once I upped a size, it was dead on. Vents like crazy and keeps me completely cool with a button up/long sleeve shirt under it. The overall jacket just feels quality made, stitching is great, and for $80 less than the original jacket I was looking at, which is relatively equivalent. Absolutely happy. July 7, 2014
Comfortable and fits well. I had watched and read just about every single mesh jacket's review out there and the GT-R Air was my finally and right choice for me. I am 5'11" 150lb, Medium fit me just fine, its not big at all even I am such slim built, plus its very comfortable.even I was riding around town with this jacket in hot 95 degree Tucson summer. might consider some upgrades down the road. Highly recommended July 2, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
fred j: Summer user to keep cool. I'm 185 pound 5'9 and got size Large. The fit is good. Jul 25, 2014
john p: Good looking jacket for Summer ride. Quality garment manufacturer with high end bits but a good cost. Offers good protection. From other commentary, I was debating between this and the Dainese Air. This had more subtle styling. Jul 1, 2014
Hui J: It looked awesome. I hope the size fit me. Jun 21, 2014
Wayne J: Lots of features for a summer jacket, good price considering it's a Rev'It brand item. Jun 19, 2014
Ricardo H: I chose this because I live in southern California and I want to have great airflow as well as adequate protection. I've done quite a bit of research and rev'it seems to be a pretty high quality brand. Overall, this looked like the best option between style, airflow/comfort, and safety. My decision was between this one and the Tornado (waterproof/thermal liner) but overall, I figured that I would not be riding in the rain too much. For winter I will probably just buy a leather jacket. Jun 8, 2014
monarch s: This seems like the perfect jacket to stay cool on a hot day and still look like you know what you are doing. Jun 5, 2014

David B: My old hot weather jacket (Dainese) was worn out. Have had good luck with Rev'it in the past so I bought this one. I am totally happy with it. The best hot weather jacket I've ever owned. Can't believe the high level of ventilation and quality craftsmanship. May 20, 2014

A shopper asked: I have a Jaunt2 in Hi-Vis yellow and it does get dirty fairly quickly. Would i expect the same thing with the white/black and red jacket? If so I guess it is the black/white for me. This is probably a rhetorical question. May 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David B: Its not rhetorical but it depends on the environment where you ride with the jacket. I live in Texas and I chose the white as its cooler feeling when not up to speed. Yep there are a few bug splats now and then but I wipe it down after every ride if it needs it and that helps keep it looking like new too. The white is a good visibility jacket too - not quite "Hi-Viz" but it does stand out. May 2, 2014
Reply to David Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert K: The white will get dirty, just as any other piece of clothing does. The more maintenance you put into the garment the longer the brightness/cleanliness will last. I went with the mostly white version knowing that it will show degradation with the fabric; however, I would rather be more visible even with dirty white than solid black. May 18, 2014
Reply to Robert Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
ROGER A: well i guess it just depends on the person and how you take care of it. After every ride i put it in the plastic that it came with and it still looks brand new. But it can get dirty fairly quick if you just throw it on dirt or something. May 4, 2014
Reply to ROGER Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
G U: Yes. Even though the white is a very sharp looking jacket it's white and mine did get dirty like from my back pack straps. But a great jacket. May 2, 2014

A shopper asked: Bought this jacket and loving it. Its getting pretty dirty now and I didn't see any care instructions. How are you guys keeping yours shiny? Jul 13, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David B: Remove back, shoulder and elbow armor. Fill 5gal bucket half way with luke warm water and a little squirt of mild dish detergent. Soak the jacket for 15 mins in the bucket of soapy water. Take out and rinse with fresh water. I just use a garden hose outdoors. Hang it up and let it dry. Replace armor Jul 15, 2014

Jon M: I have the white/black one. I take out the elbow and shoulder pads, put it in the washer on hand wash/delicate with warm water and oxy clean. Hang dry. Does a pretty decent job. I don't know if there is any way to get it looking brand new. Too afraid to use bleach. Jul 16, 2014

Chris H asked: I have the Galactic in Size 44. The fit is perfect. Any idea what size I would be in this? I'm guessing XL but I don't want it to fit baggy either. Jun 20, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Mark L: I am a euro size 48 or british size 38,and medium is perfect for rev it jacket. So if u are a 44(british I guess),then XL should be fine. Jun 20, 2014

David P: I don't know about the Galactic, but i'm just shy of 6' 4" and weigh 220 (quite lean) and the XL fits me perfectly. Jun 20, 2014

Joanne G asked: Can you apply iron on patches or other patches using a fabric adhesive on these jackets? Apr 4, 2014

Meredith J: I am not a fabric expert, but I wouldn't use an iron on patch on this jacket. Apr 4, 2014

Rodrigo M: No, it will melt the fabric May 20, 2014
Reply to Rodrigo Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Lorena G: I don't know. I haven't use the jacket yet. Anyway, being a synthetic material, iron would melt the fabric on the mesh area, which is not sturdy and very delicate, the textile portion would not be affected. That would be my guess. Apr 5, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nino C: I'm 6' with a 40" chest measurement and have the Large. It fits well for me with a tee and light fleece underneath and no back protector yet. I would definitely call and ask the guys at Revzilla to help, but I feel like the Large would be too tight for all situations. XL seems like it'd be right. Mar 12, 2014
Reply to Nino Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Jason M: I'm like Nino C, 6' 40" chest about 190lbs. I ordered the large and while it does fit, it's just barely. It's tight everywhere so there's no way I could put anything under it. It seems the break off between Large and XL is about where I am. I returned the large to get an XL. Jun 1, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert K: If the pants have a short connection zipper in the back it will work. I connect this jacket to Avgsport pants that have a short connection zipper and it works flawlessly. May 18, 2014

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements.  REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
