Surprising Quality I needed a summer glove with more features. My past two summer gloves were just light, simple Tour Masters, which I liked and wore to death. I was ready to step it up with some more protection but didn't want to go with track-style glove since most of my riding consists of short, city blasts and rides to work. But my riding lately has been a little hoon-ish, so I'm trying to protect myself a bit more. I ordered the Fly gloves based on reviews made here. Anthony's review and the pictures were good, but I was a little surprised when I received them. Smaller European companies are clearly working hard to make names for themselves - See Lazer helmets. The quality of the materials and construction were impressive. The padding in the palm, knuckle molds and even the logo patch that seems to protect the ulna from an abrasion were excellent quality. I like the precurved fingers. The full lining is soft and sturdy. They fit small so order one size up. My hand measures medium according to Rev'It!'s chart. But I chose to go with a large. Good call. They fit very well. Only gripe is the Velcro strap. Its orientation makes a tight grip around my wrist difficult. I can also tell that the loop side is going to puff up in no time. Maybe a leather repair shop can replace with micro Velcro. The gloves are somewhat expensive, but I've never bought a semi-technical glove before. April 15, 2014
Everyday gloves! I went with the size L. It fits me perfectly. I usually wear size L baseball batting gloves. Its almost same size with. However, as its short gloves, the protection is less enough than the long one. I just bought them when I ride in the city. In the city, these would be perfect. Thanks Rev! March 24, 2014
Great Gloves I was looking for a summer glove for city riding, and bought these based on the understated looks, REV'IT reputation and hope that they would fit my square hands better than other european gloves. I've had them for a couple of years and have been very happy with them. They are comfortable and have held up extremely well. They seem to be reinforced in the right places and the knuckle armor is under the leather, so the look is very subtle. I have square hands and although these were not a perfect fit out of the box, they were close enough to work well once the leather broke in. With some other European brands I've had to go one size up and then deal with the fingers being too long. February 23, 2014
Best leather glove I was drawn to these gloves because I wanted something leather and lightweight and they were on sale. I have been extremely impressed with them. The fit is fantastic. It took a couple weeks for the leather to break in but it's like a second skin to me now although getting them on still takes a little patience. The knuckle protection is very good and not very noticeable. I've also been very impressed with the wide range of temperatures this glove will handle. It seems to be comfortable from about 60F to 85F and even higher/lower depending on your tolerance. I wouldn't say they flow a lot of air. I will be sad when these wear out and probably wind up buying another pair. Now if I could just get them in brown... November 12, 2013
quality summer gloves for touring If you like leather, which I do, then you've got to give these serious consideration. Buy one size too large unless you like to struggle pulling gloves on and off. Have no idea about their protection but happy to have the hardened knuckles which are not too obtrusive -- I'm not racing but do like to ride hard on my R1200GS. Extra padding on palm heel seems adequate and the glove are limber enough to be comfortable on long rides--just did a one-day 500 mile ride and they were just fine. One irritation which I fixed with a nail file--the attachment point on one glove for the velcro tab was raised a bit much so it dug into my wrist. Rode with TourMaster fabric air gloves previously--more airy but less protective. August 26, 2013
Couldn't get into them My hand measures 3-3/4 inches knuckle-to-knuckle and 9-1/4 inches around the palm. I ordered an XL. It was so small, I had to tug and pull repeatedly to get it on. Once on, the glove was too tight for the seems to last very long but the fingers were about the right length. For this reason, I figured reordering a 2XL was pointless. I love the look and quality of many euro-gloves but, sadly, I have an american hand. August 20, 2013
Great gloves I've had a pair of RevIt Dirt gloves for a while and have been impressed with their fit, function, and durability as I can tear up gloves fast!! Got these for the wife and she likes em. My only dissapointments are that I thought they had the same plastic "puck" molded into the glove and then covered with leather when its actually just some foam in the same spot, and I thought they were more "gauntlet" style like my Dirt's are judging by the similar pictures of the gloves. Still would have bought them knowing that, and they will still be the replacements for my dirt gloves when they wear out. July 29, 2013
No black hands! I had expected the glove to bleed black onto my hands after the first wear but the liner in place prevents it. Last few pairs of summer gloves didn't offer this so I was pleasantly surprised. Fit is a bit on the tighter side, most noticeable when your hands get hot after riding. June 3, 2013

A shopper asked: I'm looking for a glove with great protection, yet still looks sleek (not very flashy or technical looking). Is the knuckle armor as hard as on the monster glove? And how well do you think these would do in a crash situation compared to other gloves? Jun 7, 2011

2HLWF8: The monster is definitely better protection if they're made well. I bought a pair of each at the same time. The monsters are going back because the fingers are longer on the right than the left. Also, the left cuff is so loose when closed that i can fling the glove off my hand. I have zero faith they'd stay on in a crash.
As for the knuckle armor, it's much tougher on the monster. The fly knuckle armor can be folded in half. The monster, not so easily.

M0t0b1t: They will protect your hands in a crash but they are not going to protect like a "more technical" glove with sliders & etc. The leather is tough in my opinion. The stitching is fantastic as i have had no quality issues such as frays or loose threads. I think they will offer abrasion resistance with not much impact absorption if you are trying to get the best answer as far as "great protection" is concerned. Mar 23, 2012

Stevan P: The Fly Gloves offer a PU injected finger knuckles and knuckle, schoeller-keprotec at palm, EVA foam at palm. The Monster has an upgraded Carbon Knuckle protector which will offer a quality level of protection while reducing the weight of the glove. All REV'IT gloves are designed to offer maximum protection to the rider within the level of protection the rider chooses to wear. Jun 17, 2011

Chaz: I liked the fact that the armor is covered in leather so the glove looks a bit more classy in my opinion. The protection is quite good, and with the right size, they will not come off in an accident. They fit like a second skin, flexible yet lots of protection. Not quite as heavy as the monster, but great protection and value. Jun 26, 2011

CMMP: I can't compare it to the monster glove but it is very rigid; it's a lot stronger than a plastic or rubber knuckle guard. There isn't a ton of protection on the fingers themselves but I'm not sure how necessary it is. Jun 13, 2011

Petemoss: Pretty darn hard. In a light-midweight summer glove, the amount of protection is impressive. Definitely go one size larger than your actual glove size and see my review bout restrictive thumb movement... Aug 19, 2011

mrfortynine: I don't own monster glove. So I can't compare. But the knuckle protection on this pair seems quite sufficient. Aug 9, 2011

Feloracing: Hard enough for protection but you don't even know is there since you don't feel it at all. Aug 9, 2012

Fit - i have icon cuff gloves now at a size 3XL -- would i need 3XL here as well?

Chris KStaff: We've seen better response from the REV'IT! over time. Folks seem to be really pleased with their quality of construction and longevity. REV'IT!'s current sizing is pretty standard (older models tend to run small), so I would stick with the 3XL. Aug 7, 2013
