Does what is described.
Some reviews say it's not this or that. I found that it's exactly what the description says it is, a windproof layer. A bit on the spendy side, but the quality is first rate. I tried some other windstopper shirts, but this one had the perfect combination of features I was looking for. I totally agree about the sizing in one review. I'm always a XL,(6ft - 195lbs) but I ended up needing a 3XL. Kept me warm on a cold ride home last night. Just what I was looking for. A+

Not Warm
First of all, this is not Gore-Tex, that's a little misleading. Gore is the company that designed Gore-Tex, and they have other products, like Windstopper, which do other things. Windstopper works pretty well but isn't very warm and is no substitute for fleece when it's cold. As a base layer it really only makes sense if you aren't wearing a waterproof layer and it's just a little bit cool out... not cold. If you have your waterproof layer or you have a gore-tex jacket than this is redundant (because they will block the wind as well, not because this is waterproof, it's not).
Also, you can find less expensive options that will do the same but might be more versitile; I have a north face Windstopper jacket that I love and have worn on cool dry days under my Rev'it jacket.
I'll say I recommend it if you live in the right climate, but I thinks it's not necessary for most people and is mostly designed to get a little bit more money out of someone who just bought a Gore-tex jacket rather than to fill a real need.

Does not provide any insulative properties!
Wore this under my Rev-IT air jacket on a recent 60deg day riding a full fairing bike and was very cold. It did I guess block the wind although I did still feel a draft, the problem is it breaths so well it quickly dissipated any body heat I was generating. This would work much better under a jacket that already has some insulation but then what is the point of this shirt? If your current jacket is already blocking most of the wind and want just a little extra warmth there are tons of technical pieces available much cheaper than this. This would be more suited to a runner or bicyclest but at this price point its not even close to competitive with premium brand gear already available.

Everything i wanted!
In trying to find something for cooler days, that would not be bulky under my Dainese Alien jacket, I tried on several wind-stopper type shirts. Some were very thin and did not seem to offer much wind protection. Others were too bulky and/or restricted movement.
The only complication was that I am typically an XL with typical american sizing and i had to go up to a 3XL for this shirt!
One feature that impressed was the neck zipper goes up the side, creating zero bulk around the front zipper of your outer jacket.
I wore this shirt under my jacket on a morning that started out at 39 degrees F, and was amazed at how much warmer i was, with less layers. Note that the 'Poor' rating for airflow above is actually a very positive review, since this shirt is NOT supposed to flow air!
