REV'IT! Athos Air Vest Videos

REV'IT! Athos Air Vest

In order to remain highly visible in traffic without compromising on airflow, REV'IT! developed the Athos Air vest as the summer edition of the popular Athos vest. The front and back panels are made of fully perforated PWR | shell mesh EN471 certified fabric. Stretch panels at the side ensure that the Athos Air vest fits easily over any summer mesh jacket in the REV'IT! collection, so air flows directly to your body through 2 layers of mesh fabric

I recommend but with a cavieot
The fit and finish is amazing and it certainly does it's job as far as being blindingly bright but my only real gripe is that as soon as Velcro is brought into the equation everything goes down hill. It just seems to disintegrate as soon as Velcro touches it! I mean come on, there is a lot of Velcro on motorcycle gear, wouldn't you make it so it's at lease a little resistant to the stuff? Other than that it's great. So buyer beware, keep your Velcro away from this thing.

A less dorky, flap-free way to wake up those cagers!
For many years, I've carried a reflective vest to use at night or in rain or fog, figuring that not getting run over outweighed the dork factor. However, I've never worn plain black gear until recently when I purchased a Rev'It! Ignition 2/Gear 2 combo, which convinced me I needed something to make me more visible in ALL conditions.

Enter the Athos vest, with its eye-poppingly hi-viz. It's sooo much better suited to motorcycle use than the construction-worker types I've used for years: it's snug, aerodynamic, securely attached with a zipper, won't fall off every time you don or doff your jacket, and doesn't flap around in the wind. With the retro-reflective strips and Rev'It! logos front and back, it's an excellent conspiscuity device day and night.

Sizing: Taking RZ's advice, I bought a Large (I would've bought a Medium if left to my own devices), which fits great over my size 52 Ignition 2 jacket (which also fits a bit small).

More hot air: The vest flows a decent amount of air, though it does somewhat reduce flow thru the mesh portions of my jacket, a trade-off I'm willing to make. Surprisingly, my sophisticated tests (blowing air thru it) shows that air exits the vest easier then it enters.

She blinded me with, well, you know: The color of the hi-viz portions are (to my eye) more yellow than the green-ish product images on RZ's site. It's still plenty hi-viz, tho, and really "pops" against my black jacket. I ride like I'm invisible nonetheless.

Just stuff it!: The vest comes with a nice hi-viz stuff sack, which I use to stash other junk in a side case because I wear the vest any time I'm wearing my new black/black suit.

Etc.: While I don't mind it not having pockets because I carry almost nothing in my outer gear (which explains the bulging tank bag), you may. The vest's zipper is "left-handed" like much Euro clothing's. I've only had the vest for about a month so I can't comment on durability, which I have to say is a weakness in some Rev'It! gear. I bet cleaning bug innards off the hi-viz material will be difficult. The zipper is branded "SBS."

Great vest.
Simple and high quality. Exactly what you would expect from this brand. Doesn't feel cheap or scratchy like a lot of reflective vests. I would recommend going one size up from your jacket size if you want to be able to get it on and off quickly over your jacket. My only complaint is that it does not have an exterior pocket (for ID cards or other items you might need to access quickly).

Simple and Safe
Got this vest for its clean and close fit over my fabric and leather riding jackets. I wear a women's medium in jackets and ordered the medium vest. Fit is perfect with no flapping fabric in the breeze especially around my shoulders. I have an Icon MilSpecs vest that I like, but wanted something without pockets and a more specific fit. The Athos does the job, looking like part of my jacket without being constrictive. It's all mesh, so it breathes well too and should be good over my mesh jacket. There's no pockets, but that's what I wanted - just a neat form-fitting, conspicuous, lightweight garment.

Good looking vest
This Hi-Viz vest is definetely in a European cut. If you prefer a snug fit then order you're regular size. It has elastic sides that have some give.
The Hi-Viz is the right color in the electric lime green tone which some of the other manufacturers can't seem to get right.
I wear this for urban commuting, and have noticed a difference in car behavior around me, espescially in the rain.

Athos Air Vest
Color and reflectivity are great. Visibility from a distance and in dark or overcast conditions is greatly increased. YKK zip and quality construction all-around -- exactly what you would expect from Rev'It! Flows plenty of air and adds no interference to my AIR jacket. No pockets and no ID holder, but if these two items may not be a concern for you (they are not for me).

I wear an AIR and a Dragon jacket, both size XS. I bought a size Small vest (because they don't offer it in XS) and it fits just fine. It's not snug, but it does not flap in the wind at all, even over my AIR jacket. If you own other Rev'It! gear, I would recommend that you buy this in whatever size you wear. If you wear a Large Rev'It! jacket, buy this in a large.

I really like this vest. The quality is great, and I feel much safer cruising the highways with this thing on. Just keep in mind that it fits a little snug, but I would say that it is still true to size.

Wear this vest if you want to be seen.
Perfect Hi Viz vest for commuting. Due to the elastic on the sides, the fit is snug so no flapping in the breeze. Great color to help you be seen without having to buy a Hi Viz jacket.

Day and Night High Visibility with Ventilation, Style and Fit
The REV'IT! Athos Air Vest provides high-vis yellow for daytime and reflective stripes and logos for nighttime safety. Stretchy fabric helps to keep the Vest on the jacket when removing the the jacket. The Air Vest looks good, like it's part of the jacket. Mesh construction flows a lot of air.

Sizing:
- Stretchy enough to fit a bulky 3/4 winter jacket while fitting close on much slimmer jackets.

- Winter jacket is XXL, fall leather and summer mesh jackets are XL. I bought an XXL Air Vest and it easily stretches enough to fit the winter jacket but is not loose on the others.

Zipper is a little fussy but adequate. I don't understand why all manufacturers don't use beefy YKK zips but that's just me, I guess.

Highly recommended if you are are looking for that extra margin of safety through increased visibility in all conditions along with style, fit and comfort.

Gives me peace of mind
I bought this vest to fit over my black Dianese Laguna jacket. It fits great, provides good airflow, and is constructed very well. It's also about as stylish as a hi-viz vest can be. My tiny complaint is I wish it had a pocket or two. I have to unzip it to get to my jacket's pockets.
Overall, I feel very confident now that people will see me coming- it's BRIGHT. Well worth the money.

Rides: 1983 Honda Nighthawk 650

Why did you choose this?
RevZilla Store
I chose this vest because it fits perfectly over my Revit GT-R leather jacket, it has flex panels on the side to allow some variance for size without flapping in the wind, and it has lots of reflective material. This is what they like to see when you ride onto a military base.

i wanted a hi viz option regardless of what jacket I wear. The price may seem a bit high for a thin vest, but this thing is very well made - not your typical construction crew vest that I was wearing.

I try to be very safety conscious when I go ride. I don't have the money for a new Hi-Viz jacket at the time being, so I figured this was the next best thing. Also that this vest is made to fit over a jacket really helps and that is don't have any buckles with loose ends that will whip in the wind. I like the amount of Hi-Viz as well as reflectivity. I hope this vest really catches peoples eye.

J T on Aug 28, 2014
The answer is simple - was looking to compliment my scorpion ventech jacket (size large) with a hi-vis element to counter night riding more confidently. After reading user reviews I was more than convinced to opt for this product. And especially the sweet deal from Rev it! towards the limited period discount offer @15% was a deal not worth letting go off. To clarify the sizing - I bought a size XL since rev it jackets run a size smaller compared to their US counterparts
Amit T on Aug 17, 2014
It has mesh fabric to allow good airflow. Most of my riding is in the summer in hot climates, so good airflow for cooling is very important. The good reviews by other purchasers also help to influence my purchasing decision.

Just Bought Olympia Switchback Medium. What size Athos vest do you recommend?
A shopper on Jun 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I wear a woman's medium. I bought a medium Athos vest. Fit was perfect. Not loose or tight. Fits well over chest/back protective gear. The side panels have stretch and makes the fit comfortable. Also this vest is not long but gives good coverage. Visibility is very good.
What size Revit hi vis vest is required to fit over a large Revit Sand Jacket?
A shopper on Mar 23, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I wear a woman's medium jacket and ordered a medium (unisex, I assume) Athos vest. It fits perfectly over my heavy textile jacket and my leather jacket. There are some stretch panels on the sides that allow it to conform to your moto jacket comfortably.
Hi,

I wear XL in Rev'it gt-air jacket, what size of vest should I get?

Thanks,

Eran
Eran H on Oct 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if this helps, but I wear a Joe Rocket leather jacket size 44 (which I believe is a large). I wear the XL athos vest and it's a perfect fit. The sides of the vest expand alot so there's some flexibility there.
