REV'IT! Athos Air Vest

In order to remain highly visible in traffic without compromising on airflow, REV'IT! developed the Athos Air vest as the summer edition of the popular Athos vest. The front and back panels are made of fully perforated PWR | shell mesh EN471 certified fabric. Stretch panels at the side ensure that the Athos Air vest fits easily over any summer mesh jacket in the REV'IT! collection, so air flows directly to your body through 2 layers of mesh fabric

Great but... This is a great piece of gear. It's stylish, which is quite an accomplishment for a safety vest. The zippers are quality. The reflective material is bright, and well applied. The vest is durable as long as you avoid velcro. All together it's well put together. However I found after a year of heavy use it's pretty much impossible to get clean again. Still reflective but the high-vis capability of the vest has diminished quite a bit. Still happy with it. But be aware this thing does have a shelf life. October 29, 2015
tsk, tsk, Rev'It Like most people say, the fabric is sub-par, too soft, and does not like Velcro. Styling is conservative, but perhaps a little too much. Only plus really, is the elasticated sides. I just leave it on my jacket and it stays put. Has zero effect on air flow, so that's a plus. October 3, 2015
Fragile Overall this is a good vest for creating visibility but as other reviewers have noted, Velcro instantly damages it. Even though I knew this from reading the reviews and was trying to be careful, a piece of Velcro glommed onto the vest within 5 minutes of having it out of the package. Now it's a little less nice. Buy something more durable. June 18, 2015
Awsome!!! Vey good quality and style, efficient air flow, it would be nicer with some pockets for ID and change June 8, 2015
I recommend but with a cavieot The fit and finish is amazing and it certainly does it's job as far as being blindingly bright but my only real gripe is that as soon as Velcro is brought into the equation everything goes down hill. It just seems to disintegrate as soon as Velcro touches it! I mean come on, there is a lot of Velcro on motorcycle gear, wouldn't you make it so it's at lease a little resistant to the stuff? Other than that it's great. So buyer beware, keep your Velcro away from this thing. June 7, 2015
Quality practical vest for riding safety I like the full vest design. I leave it over the jacket putting them on and taking them off together. Nice and supple. Cannot attest to air flow as my jacket is not vented in the area it covers. Hint: keep away from Velcro. May 25, 2015
Great vest - Conspicuity, Comfort & Air Flow Love this vest - just what I was looking for. Fits great over my riding jacket, excellent air flow and I appreciate the added visibility it provides. Not a lot of miles on it, but so far so good - appears to be made well and I expect it to last many years. Packs small and the storage bad was a nice plus. May 14, 2015
Great vest. Simple and high quality. Exactly what you would expect from this brand. Doesn't feel cheap or scratchy like a lot of reflective vests. I would recommend going one size up from your jacket size if you want to be able to get it on and off quickly over your jacket. My only complaint is that it does not have an exterior pocket (for ID cards or other items you might need to access quickly). May 11, 2015

Geoffrey M: Good video explanation Nov 24, 2015
Matthew S: Looked like good visibility coverage and more substantial construction than other vests for the price. Also goes with my Revit jacket. Oct 18, 2015

ROLAND B: Extra visibility on the highway Jun 7, 2015
doyle h: i wanted a hi viz option regardless of what jacket I wear. The price may seem a bit high for a thin vest, but this thing is very well made - not your typical construction crew vest that I was wearing. May 16, 2015
Carmen S: Anthony said it was great! May 13, 2015
Leon G: Good reviews, highly visible, style looked nice, and it works with my other Rev'It gear. May 2, 2015

Morgan H: I have a black jacket and with the change of the season I want to be easier to see on those dark rides to and from work. Oct 26, 2014
Carlos C: ok Oct 2, 2014
Blake R: I try to be very safety conscious when I go ride. I don't have the money for a new Hi-Viz jacket at the time being, so I figured this was the next best thing. Also that this vest is made to fit over a jacket really helps and that is don't have any buckles with loose ends that will whip in the wind. I like the amount of Hi-Viz as well as reflectivity. I hope this vest really catches peoples eye. Sep 30, 2014
Kevin D: I liked the elastic sides versus velcro or buckles Aug 31, 2014
Sandra A: Visibility. Wear it 100% of the time. Aug 30, 2014
J T: vest lightweight and very visible. Best vest out there IMHO Aug 28, 2014
Vishal P: The answer is simple - was looking to compliment my scorpion ventech jacket (size large) with a hi-vis element to counter night riding more confidently. After reading user reviews I was more than convinced to opt for this product. And especially the sweet deal from Rev it! towards the limited period discount offer @15% was a deal not worth letting go off. To clarify the sizing - I bought a size XL since rev it jackets run a size smaller compared to their US counterparts Aug 17, 2014
Richard H: It has mesh fabric to allow good airflow. Most of my riding is in the summer in hot climates, so good airflow for cooling is very important. The good reviews by other purchasers also help to influence my purchasing decision. Jul 27, 2014
Henry L: Color, no ID card holder, and appearance of fit on the video Jul 18, 2014
Aaron M: Cagers that can't see :) Jun 24, 2014
David A: Cheaper than Olympia vest, but filled my need of tight fitting, yet breathable. Jun 18, 2014
Craig S: Bought this Rev'It vest to go over my Dainese Razon jacket to increase my visibility to others. Heading out on a longer trip and needed something to make me stand out. Jun 6, 2014
Frank C: Hi Vis Jun 5, 2014
Christopher J: REV'IT has a good reputation and it shows in the feedback May 24, 2014
Franz F: I want to be visible but not have to buy a whole new jacket. May 16, 2014
paul w: saftey May 15, 2014
Roland T: Excellent visibility as well as quality May 9, 2014
Jeff J: I noticed that I always see other motorcyclists when they're wearing yellow, so I figured maybe I should too. May 1, 2014
Cindy B: After someone is hit, the auto driver says, "I never saw him." Apr 19, 2014
Pam L: This vest had good reviews and they were right on. Good fit. Not tight not loose. I especially like the length as I'm short and this fits me well. Very visible while riding or out for a late walk! Mar 20, 2014
graham s: Wanted to be seen better ...this is easy on and off and way bright. Mar 18, 2014
Randall M: This was the only hi-viz vest I could find that was not military spec, with an id window, etc. It is a fitted garment that works perfectly with my BMW Comfort Shell jacket. The materials and durability exceed all expectations. No flapping or fluttering at any speed. No color bleed after rain. Does not limit ventilation in any way. Size matched the size of my jacket. Nicely done! Mar 5, 2014
Fairulnizam P: More visible especially during night time with reflective material and good air flow. Feb 24, 2014
jason w s: LA traffic!! Feb 14, 2014
Joseph D: What to be seen . Jan 13, 2014
Robert O: Visiblity on rainy days Dec 9, 2013
Justin P: Great vest that I purchased to use in incremental weather and at night. Stretchy material works well and comes with a nice bag to tuck it away in. Nov 9, 2013
GUILLERMO P: By its color. Oct 21, 2013
John S: I wanted the flexibility of high vis gear when I need it, but the option to take it off when I got into the backcountry. I feel like this garment will help me be seen better by other motorists and its always better to be on the safe side. Oct 9, 2013
Dan M: Last piece of gear to buy before actually shopping for the new bike. Want to make sure that I get seen on the road. I'm in TX and the fact that this is mesh and will allow air flow through both the vest and the Scorpion jacket that I bought is huge for not baking when it gets hot down here. Sep 17, 2013

Pam L: I wear a woman's medium. I bought a medium Athos vest. Fit was perfect. Not loose or tight. Fits well over chest/back protective gear. The side panels have stretch and makes the fit comfortable. Also this vest is not long but gives good coverage. Visibility is very good. Jun 11, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
BlazeHaze: I wear a woman's medium jacket and ordered a medium (unisex, I assume) Athos vest. It fits perfectly over my heavy textile jacket and my leather jacket. There are some stretch panels on the sides that allow it to conform to your moto jacket comfortably. May 1, 2012

Eran H asked: Hi,

I wear XL in Rev'it gt-air jacket, what size of vest should I get?

Oct 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Ronald Scott H: I don't know if this helps, but I wear a Joe Rocket leather jacket size 44 (which I believe is a large). I wear the XL athos vest and it's a perfect fit. The sides of the vest expand alot so there's some flexibility there. Oct 27, 2014

Jeff S: Hi Eran -

I would get the Air Vest in the same size - XL. I wear a size large and have a variety of jackets and got the Air Vest in large as well. it fits great - snug enough so no flapping but not too tight. The side panels stretch for a bit more room and the arm openings are plenty big. My only complaint - and its a small one - is that it actually doesn't flow as much air as I thought it would. In the heat of summer it can be a bit warm. I'm an ATGATT rider so always ride with a jacket but I typically use the vest in spring and fall. My summer jacket is bright silver and my winter jacket is already Hi-Viz. The vest is a great product and I do recommend it.

Hope that helps!

Paul H: I have a Rev'IT Tornado jacket in size 54. I bought the athos air vest in an XL.
It's a little snug, but I think that it should be a tighter fit than a looser one. You don't want it to be flapping around at higher speeds. This is a great vest and a wise investment. I see that people do a double take when I'm approahing an intersection and that is exactly what you want. Enjoy!

Gregory B: I would get an XL. I wear a small and this vest fits snug but not overly so on my Spectrum jacket with both liners in. I prefer snug so that it doesn't flap around or poof up at highway speeds. Nov 23, 2014
