BEST SUMMER JACKET EVER! Look no further.
Guys, this is the best summer jacket I've ever owned. It's not just good for the pricepoint, it's just good period! It's got it all, great fit good feel, sturdy-with-good-ventilation, excellent armor. I gave it a "4" for comfort because the collar is a bit rigid. A couple things: I've been dropping weight and I'm now down to 220 lbs. I'm 6'1, which puts me right between Large and XL according to the video and the size chart. I almost got a Large, but I opted for the XL. I am so glad I did, because it fit perfectly; like it was tailored just for me. So they run small and you should round up if your borderline. Also, buy the seasoft RV back protector (size 5). This comes with NO back pad at all, not even a lame one. the seasoft will impress you. However, when you put it in, it tightens the fit about half a size. So it will snug up the coat. So with that in mind, really plan out your sizing. I have REV IT gloves and I will just tell you I'll never go with anything but REV IT, now. Try it and you won't go back! Hope this helps.

Tight Fit across chest and biceps
I read the size charts and always watch the videos carefully before buying anything. Let me start by saying the Jacket was tight across the chest and biceps as I ordered a LG based on chart and my measurements. I'm 42 chest, waist 33. I had to return as the large (which is usually perfect fit ) was too uncomfortable. Revzilla was great as usual and exchanged for an XL. The extra large is OK, but not great fit for me.
I love the Revit Airwave Pant, great fit but not this new Airwave Jacket.

Stylish Jacket, Great for Heat
I live in Brooklyn and man can it get hot when I am stopping at lights every 5 feet, sitting in the sun. I dress for the slide, not for the ride, so I always have a jacket on. This jacket is fantastic. It has A TON of airflow when the bike is in motion, providing instant relief from the heat. It is great for the city, and will keep me super safe at city speeds. When I am on the highway, I am aware I am sacrificing some protection for the heat-relief, but honestly, it's a compromise I am willing to make in the summer.

I have worn this jacket about 6 times, and have gotten a compliment every time I have worn it. Also, oddly enough, I am getting more compliments on my bike too, which must be related. I am 6'1 and skinny, and as previously mention, the arms are a bit snug, even for me. The length is great in the back and sleeves. Anyway, I think the styling looks great and the jacket is really comfortable in my (standard) riding position.

In terms of features, it is pretty straight forward, no real frills, but does the job. That is what keeps the design so streamlined. My one complaint is the zippers of the front pockets are located too far to the sides. It takes some real awkward maneuvering (partially a result of how tight the sleeves are) to get my hands into the front pockets. This makes it difficult to remove things when stopped at a light, for example.

Overall, I really recommend this jacket. It's my new go-to.

Great summer jacket
Just rode a 2300 mile vacation using this jacket with temps ranging from 50-90 degF. Very breathable jacket, stylish, and good protection in the elbows and shoulders. I had to order an XL even though I'm usually on the small side of L because the arms were very tight. I'm not a gym rat or anything, so if you have large biceps this jacket might not be for you due to this issue. Only other issue I had with it was my neck-hair starting pulling at the collar when the snap was closed and I moved my head around. It can be very painful, but avoidable if you shave that area on a regular basis. I was unable to do so on my trip.

Stylish Cooling
I got this jacket along with the Airwave 2 pants for a FL summer tour. I was disappointed with air flow until I discovered that loosening the pull straps to allow the jacket to luff makes a big improvement. I also have the Seesoft level 2 back protector. The back protector does feel slightly bulky, and does restrict air flow somewhat, but worth it for the level 2 insurance. I miss not having a split in the wrist cuff - no matter how much mesh there is you always need more air at 90+ deg F. I also wish they had put a couple vents front and back - seems insane to ask for vents against those massive mesh panels but cracking the front zipper is the only out which does help. The zippers and clips all feel sturdy, the stitching is precision cut. The jacket has very good styling and hangs well on my medium frame (5'10",180 lbs.) both standing and seated. Overall I'll say it was a good call; it will give me a high degree of protection while offering good enough ventilation (saying a lot for FL/summer).

first true summer mesh jacket
This is my first true summer mesh jacket.

My biggest complaint about textile jackets in general is their flashyness, advertising and logos all over the place. This one isn't quite as bad as others I have seen, logos and advertising are minimal and not in your face. I got the silver/black.

This thing runs SMALL, use the sizing chart Revzilla provides and follow their recommendations. I'm kinda big guy. I would normally take an XL or 2XL. In this I needed a 4XL. The arms seem a bit long and elbow protections seems lower than it should. Sooo, not an ideal for for us fat guys.

Lastly - The effen zipper. Its backwards from every other zipper on every jacket I have ever owned since I learned how to zip my coat on my own. It takes me a minute or two to zip the dang thing up, I cant do it without looking. I feel like a moron trying to zip this thing up.

Overall I like this jacket for what it is and an getting use out of it now that things have warmed up. Thanks Revzilla.

Loving this jacket so far!
I've been using the Airwave 2 for 3 days now and so far it's been serving it's purpose of keeping me cool during hot weather. Great ventilation. I really like the fit because it's not loose and baggy, but it's also not form fitting. It's just right. Seems pretty well constructed with durable fibers. Don't even notice the armor pads while riding. The only gripe I have with the jacket is that the outer pocket openings are up high and off to the side so you have pull your arm back pretty far to reach into them.

Primary jacket
Not sure it is the best hot weather jacket available, but it is my primary jacket. I found it tolerable down to 65 degrees with just a shirt under it. I was a little cooler than I would have preferred but okay. Very comfortable between 75 and 85 degrees. Not sure about over 85. Probably decent, but hot is hot, only so much you can do.

fantastic summer jacket for Texas
i just did 175+ miles in upper 70s to
upper 80s temperatures in full sun and
this jacket was great! it's a massive
improvement over a 3 - season First
Gear jacket i had for over 12 years...

i could really "feel" airflow on my
back, which was my favorite
feature. i only wish it had a few
more internal or external pockets. just
for something thin and small like a pair
of glasses or something. a very minor
nit pick.

Features and REV'IT product performance. The I ordered one size up from my normal jacket size due to comments from previous reviewers. The jacket fit perfectly and performs outstandingly in Southern California summer weather. The airflow mesh is in places that seem much less likely to take abrasion yet it somehow provides great ventilation throughout the entire jacket. If you are looking for a functional summer jacket that won't completely break the bank I strongly recommend this one.

I bought this jacket to ride in the South Florida summer heat and absolutely love it. It fits the body nicely (including around the arms) and flows air through the mesh exceptionally well. The zipper is reversed and a little small to grab with gloves. I also had to add pull tabs to the pocket zippers as they, too, were difficult to pull up and down with gloves. As always, Revzilla helped me through the process of choosing a new jacket with flying colors.
M I on Jul 27, 2016
Looking for an outer layer to hold armor and abrasion protection, while I provide windbreaker and insulation layers underneath as the weather demands, and a rain jacket over it, in case of rain. I find that I don't use the zip-in liners that the more expensive jackets provide, because they are to cumbersome to change out during the course of a ride.

Hi,

I am between this jacket and the GTR-Air and I do not know what is the difference except that this one has a more touring style as opposed to the sporty look of the Air.

Any ideas?
A shopper on May 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Guy at the boutique in philly said the boat difference is that the GT has collarbone 3D mesh panels where the Airwaves has no collarbone vents. Looking at both side by side I agreed. Was still wary he was just trying to push the older jackets so they can phase them out and not have stock laying around. After trying both they fit about the same. The GT felt more snug but the same size in both fit me. Went with the GT and I really feel the collarbone vents on a hot day.
How does the fit compare to the original Airwave Jacket?
A shopper on May 5, 2016
How is it in the rain?
A C on Jun 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Got rained on during my MSF course while I was wearing this. The jacket isn't waterproof, but all in all, it really wasn't too bad. It certainly let through some water, but it was a tolerable amount and the jacket itself didn't seem to absorb any. I had on regular jeans at the time and those were soaked through to the point of discomfort, so there's definitely some minor amount of water protection.

I can't say how it would be at road speed, though I bet a fair amount more water would get through the mesh. I'd recommend getting a waterproof shell to go over it. That's what I plan on doing.
i live in Mexico where temperature can reach 120 ºF. Do you recommend me this jacket?
Adan A on Jun 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You will still get hot when you are waiting at a stop light, but the air circulation is great when you are moving.
You can always add a cooling vest if it is uncomfortable hot.
Does this jacket have the connections for the Connector HV Vest? The listing here and the one on the Rev'it website conflict with one another about this. Here, the connectors are pictured and shown on the video, but the description (near the bottom) says the jacket doesn't have them. On the Rev'it page for this jacket, the connectors are neither mentioned nor can they be seen on the pictured jacket. It's weird. When you look at the pictures of the jacket shown on the two websites, this is the only difference between them. Also, this jacket isn't one of the ones listed as being compatible when you look at the Rev'it page for the vest. So, are the connectors actually on the Airwave 2 jacket or what?
A C on Jul 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, they're not. The Airwave 2 does not have the connectors for the HV Connector vest. However, I have both, and I put the HV Connector vest over my Airwave 2 jacket and it doesn't slip backwards or move around while riding or walking. It stays in place without the so-called connectors.
Are the red accents a true red or are they more orange?
A C on Jun 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Definitely more red than orange but they are trying to be bright so we are not talking about a deep/dark red - not close to blood red, lighter than an apple, slightly lighter than a tomato. Slightly lighter than my Icon red mesh jacket (if you have one of those laying around). If you are concerned about it clashing with your racing red MC, I'd say you'd have nothing to worry about - it's Red.
Would this jacket be comfortable while riding upright on trails as well as the street? (I ride a dual sport)
A shopper on Apr 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I ride a Kawasaki KLX150L, both on the street and off-road, but not the trails, and it is very comfortable, feels like a second skin. This jacket is very nice to ride in, walk and even go to the cinema. I never use the side pockets on the jacket, however. They're tight, and a little hard to reach. I use a waistpack. May not be very fashionable, but it's practical.
Just a quick queztion, the white and black arm band things are they reflective?
A C on Jun 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Depends on the color you get. I bought the light color with the all black sleeves (no colored arm band). There's no reflectivity in that spot on mine, but the logos on the upper arms are reflective. If you get the one with the contrasting arm bands those will provide some better reflectivity.
How is the sleeve length? I'm 44 inch chest with 36 inch arm length.

BEST ANSWER: I think I'm a 34-35 sleeve and the Large worked great for me. The sleeves are a bit snug though (my arms are maybe average in size). It is designed to fit snug around the torso. I'm content with the large but wonder if an XL would have been best. This is an awesome jacket though. I feel like I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt but am still getting great great armor protection.
