Pirelli Angel GT Front Tires

Pirelli débuted the new Angel GT Tires on Basque soil in Bilbao, Spain accompanying the newest edition of the Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo. The new Angel GT Sport Touring tire will be standard equipment on the latest version of the Borgo Panigale model.

The Angel GT boasts 15 percent more mileage than the Pirelli Angel ST without sacrificing performance. Pirelli has labeled this as “Performance Mileage."  The primary design was to provide regular wear and excellent water drainage guaranteed by both the front tires and by the new groove design on the rear. Pirelli is using a dual blend compound that allows for high mileage in the center with a higher percentage of silica on the sides offering maximum performance, even in wet conditions.

In the end, the Pirelli Angel GT is a great option for long distance riders with a fully loaded bike, or for those who are looking to optimize performance on their short daily getaways. From sport bikes to touring and everything in between the Angel GT will not disappoint.

Features:

  • (W)-rated for speeds of 168+ mph
  • Ideal for sport riders looking for increased mileage without sacrificing grip and traction
  • Extended Mileage Sport (EMS) tires provide best-in-class for mileage and grip
  • Rear tires feature new Bi-compound formula improves cornering traction
  • Improved wet grip
  • Tubeless

Good balance between milage and performance I purchased these tires after my Diablo Corsa was showing cords. I commute on my bike 5 days a week the Diablo Corsa was incredibly sticky but very short lived. these tires are almost as good grip wise only feeling a little loose coming out of corners when hard on the throttle. If these Tires last as long as reviews indicate this is an amazing tire. December 1, 2014
Great for dry weather This is the first pair of Angel GT I own(yamaha fz6). Grip drastically better then my old tires. They do wear out faster than usual, especially if ride really long distances on them, but when it comes to cornering - I've never felt more comfortable on any other tires. November 10, 2014
Good tires I can't say I have a lot of experiences with different tires but these seem to work well. I noticed a lot better grip in everyway with these over my old ones, riding in the rain felt the same as riding on dry pavement. I have found no fault with them and my bike seems a lot more capable since I switched over. October 13, 2014
Great so far! I purchased this set of tires before heading out on a 4300+ mile trip. They were mounted to a 2006 Hayabusa. The bike was moderately loaded with a Givi 360e topbox, a small stuff sack, and riding one up. The tires handled great and made me realize how bad my old tires were. There were no grip issues in either rain or cool weather. After making the entire trip there is some visible wear down the center from all of the highway miles (~70% of the miles), the flat spotting should go away as I start to ride more back roads and less highway miles again. Overall I am very pleased with the tires and would recommend them to anyone else looking for a sport touring tire. September 22, 2014
Great Tire! Transformed the feel of my bike, feel more confident in corners and in straight light. Can't beat the look of the tread either! September 8, 2014
Pirelli Angel GT After 600 miles there is a noticable difference between Pirelli and Metzler tires. Pirelli rides so much softer and handles the twists and turns easily. The wear on both front and back at this point is even, no cupping or flattening seen. The Pirelli's look good too and were not an issue to mount. The Metzlers I had were the Z8 that came with my bike and were not a bad tire, Pirelli's are just a better tire. August 11, 2014
Excellent sport touring tires with terrific grip. I installed the Angel GTs on my new Ninja 1000 this summer. They replaced the terrible stock BT-016s, which only lasted 1400 miles before they started to square off and shred. (Note that the Kawasaki OEM BT-016 tires are not the same as those sold by retailers. The aftermarket dual compound BT-016 tires are supposed to be much better.) Anyway, I couldn't be more impressed with the Angel GT tires. They provide excellent grip on both dry and wet roads. They're quiet and handle very well. So far I've put just over 5100 miles on them, and I think I could easily get to 6000 miles before they reach the wear bars. Even with over 5000 miles on the tires, they still feel very solid. I've already ordered my second set! August 4, 2014
A Big Surprise I got tired of waiting for backordered Michelin GT tires to come in and with a trip coming up soon I opted for the Angel GTs. The Angel GTs are by far the best tires I've ever had on my BMW 1600 GTL. They are very quiet, handling is terrific and the softest riding tire that has been on the bike.As to wear, I only have about 3k miles on them so far but they still look like new.I highly recommend them! There's really nothing to complain about. The tires have seen 2-up, commuting, and mid-level track day duty without any issues. long wearing, especially for a tire with this much traction.

Based on my experience with the Pirelli Angel ST several of my Riding Buddies switched to Pirelli Angel GT and all were glad they did. Now it's my turn to ride on Pirelli Angel GT Tires!!! A shopper asked: where's the arrow that indicates direction of rotation on the front tire? Oct 20, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Matthew N: It's on the sidewall. It isn't really clear you have to look closely for it. The arrows of the tread should be pointing towards the back of the bike if you are looking at the top of the tire when mounted. Oct 20, 2014

Dusty W: It should be either on the sidewall or on the very edge of the tire close to the sidewall if i remember correctly its very easy to overlook on these as well but a great tire!
