Pirelli Angel GT Front Tires

Pirelli débuted the new Angel GT Tires on Basque soil in Bilbao, Spain accompanying the newest edition of the Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo. The new Angel GT Sport Touring tire will be standard equipment on the latest version of the Borgo Panigale model.

The Angel GT boasts 15 percent more mileage than the Pirelli Angel ST without sacrificing performance. Pirelli has labeled this as “Performance Mileage."  The primary design was to provide regular wear and excellent water drainage guaranteed by both the front tire and by the new groove design on the rear. Pirelli is using a dual blend compound that allows for high mileage in the center with a higher percentage of silica on the sides offering maximum performance, even in wet conditions.

In the end, the Pirelli Angel GT is a great option for long distance riders with a fully loaded bike, or for those who are looking to optimize performance on their short daily getaways. From sport bikes to touring and everything in between the Angel GT will not disappoint.

Great tire This is a great tire for sports touring. The profile changed my bikes handling for the better and once you get your tire pressure correct "mine started too high" it gives good feed back and grip. October 26, 2015
This tire is just what I needed This tire is just what I needed in that I do a lot of touring on a variety of road types, though they are all paved, from two lane country to highway to twisty roads. The tire performs very well in wet and dry conditions with very good feel and traction. Once the tires were settled in on the rims, (approx. 100 miles as per Pirelli), I proceeded to test them riding in the way that many like to ride. While I don't do track days, I still have opportunities to aggressively enjoy some twisty roads, and after 2500 miles the wear mark on the tire shows that I use all but less than an inch of the tread pattern. I highly recommend this tire. Once again Revzilla :) I ordered the tire Thursday morning... on the porch on Friday... on the bike Saturday. You are amazing :) October 12, 2015
Great with matching back tire I bought the front tire roughly a 2000 miles after buying the rear of the same type. Once I got the front installed, it felt like a brand new bike. Always be sure to run a few miles and be extra careful as you break the tire in. October 12, 2015
Not much to report yet Just had them installed and only one ride so far. From the miles I have they feel really good. But coming from tires worn to the wear bars that's not saying much. The tread looks great and I believe they will have really good grip. I'll update this soon with more news. September 28, 2015
Tough to beat! I bought this to replace the last Angel front on my RC51. It had 11,500ish miles on it. Rears are great too 6-7000 on these bad boys. I ride tons of canyons and theses are solid performance tires. Yes I know they're sport touring tires. If you out ride them you should be on the track anyway. August 25, 2015
Great tire!, amazing wet grip. I'm from Costa Rica, where it rains more than half a year, so these tires are amazing overall for my bike, they provide great grip, i had the Pirelli Angel ST (older model), and they performed great and the wearing was great. August 24, 2015
They're Pirelli's You would expect everything you get what you pay for August 24, 2015
Great Tires! Demon eyes in the tread look AWESOME. I'm not sure if it's the placebo effect, but these tires feel much grippier than my old tires. I can't comment on wet traction or tread life because I installed them less than 100 miles ago. June 30, 2015

Donald Y: Riding a SV650k5, based on experience from BT-023, this tire should serve the purpose for 95% highway commute and 5% beginner trackday. I go to trackdays to get "speeding" out of my system and cornering without risk of cars or natural road debris - like they say, I'd rather spend $200 on a trackday than $350 on a speeding ticket. Matthew N: These tires stick like glue and wear very well. This will be my third Angel GT front tire on my Concours 1400. After a day on the track I had no chicken strips on the front or rear tires and no slippage whatsoever. Fantastic grip even at the extremes. Nov 16, 2014
Mike V: Ducati Monster 696 will only take Pirelli Angel tires according to MOM. Nov 12, 2014

Ryan K: I do more touring style riding rather then track riding Jul 22, 2014
Ian V: This will be my third set of Angel GT's (three different bikes). Awesome tires all around. Grip is good, lifespan is good, wet traction is good, and price is good. There's really nothing to complain about. The tires have seen 2-up, commuting, and mid-level track day duty without any issues. First set went on an Aprilia Futura and I currently have a set on my 919 and my Ninja 650. Jul 22, 2014
Damian Martin R: Seems to offer the best balance for grip and duration. Jul 13, 2014
Phil P: Proven experience with the same model on the rear, not to mention a better value over the PR4 GT. Jun 24, 2014
Richard G: Longivity on top of first class performance Jun 21, 2014
Bruce R: To replace the current tire on a BMW Sport Touring bike. Since I already know these are great tires I saw no need to experiment
with something different. These tires have excellent grip - wet or dry, very good feel at all times, even when it is cold and are
long wearing, especially for a tire with this much traction.
Jun 17, 2014
CANH V: The lowest price compared with others on internet. May 22, 2014
George P: You guys recommended the rear tire when I replaced my metzler, dur for the front now. May 21, 2014

A R: I have used Metzeler Z6, Dunlop Road Smart, Michelin PR3, and Pirelli Angel ST on my Sport Touring Motorcycle...the Pirelli Angel ST was by far the most consistent throughout its 6K Miles and always stable as the Rock of Gibraltar when hanging off in swervery. Based on my experience with the Pirelli Angel ST several of my Riding Buddies switched to Pirelli Angel GT and all were glad they did. Now it's my turn to ride on Pirelli Angel GT Tires!!! Mar 27, 2014
Richard S: Had excellent customer reviews. Trust the Pirelli brand. Mar 12, 2014

Don A: Heard good things about these tires Feb 16, 2014

Marvin R: Bets rated Jan 10, 2014
Alfred L: Excellent tires, great grip and great mileage. Nov 20, 2013
Daniel C: "This is the tire that Kawasaki should be using on the Kawasaki Concours 14 instead of the Bridgestone 021OEM tire. Many of y friends who ride Connies love this tire, and I can hardly wait to swap out the OEM tires." Nov 3, 2013
Andres F: I come from pilot road 3... after using these, never going back, ever!! what a difference. Good grip, steady. Still to find out longevity, but seem ok. 1,000 miles on them. Sep 25, 2013
Nicholas B: More miles out of A sport touring tire, why not choose Angel GT's? Sep 18, 2013
Steven Y: I'm running the Pirelli Diablo's now and need a longer mileage tire since i do a lot of commuting during the week and hard canyon riding on the weekends. Sep 17, 2013
A shopper asked: Is this tire suited for a Triumph Sprint ST 1050?
I have read comments that the GT version is not suited for lighter bikes like this.
In the past I had PR2 but I read some good reviews on these.
I currently have an Angel GT as rear tire but the front needs to be changed now and I'm not sure if I should switch to an Angel GT there as well or a PR4. So that in the future I should switch my rear tire as well to a PR4.

I commute in all weather except snow/ice but also like to take corners fast and work on my knee down :-)

Matthew F: I ran the Angel GT's on my 2011 CBR600RR and loved them. When I sold it I had about 5500 miles on them and the rear was just barely starting to show signs of wear. I too am an all weather rider. I commute to work and get some twisties in when I can. These tires were awesome. A lot of my friends ran PR3's so when I put new tires on my current FZ1 I opted for the PR4's but would have no issues putting the Angel GT's on it in the future. Aug 20, 2015

glenn h: No idea if you can use it on an inner tube. However, it's the only tire I will ride on my Supermotard. Amazing grip and longevity (almost 8k miles on a rear or front). Nov 16, 2015

A S asked: I own a naked bike that comes in at 500lbs. I am debating between the Pirelli Angel GT and the Mich. Road Pilot 4 GT.

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions on which is better suited to a local rider who wants good grip in the turns and doesn't tour?

glenn h: I've had a dozen sets of Pilots and will now only ride Angel GTs. One of the best tires ever for street & canyons. Amazing grip & twice the longevity of Pilots (you'll get 7k-8k miles out of them, no joke). I've yet to take them to the track but can't wait.. Nov 16, 2015

eugene w: Sounds like you can't go wrong either way. You could also consider the non-GT PR 4's as well since you're actually on the light side, particularly if you're normally solo. Nov 8, 2015

A shopper asked: where's the arrow that indicates direction of rotation on the front tire? Oct 20, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Matthew N: It's on the sidewall. It isn't really clear you have to look closely for it. The arrows of the tread should be pointing towards the back of the bike if you are looking at the top of the tire when mounted. Oct 20, 2014
Reply to Matthew Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Dusty W: It should be either on the sidewall or on the very edge of the tire close to the sidewall if i remember correctly its very easy to overlook on these as well but a great tire!
