Nolan N90 Helmet 4.6 5 219 219
Fairly Loud wind noise This is a great value compared to my local shop is selling this same helmet for $339, and I got it here for $219 the only thing the noise level is rather high. I need to ride with ear plugs, prolonged rides will surely damage your hearing. (But I guess that is to be expected for a modular helmet. The noise comes from 2 areas. Below the jaw area, and at the hinge area. I'm installing a pair of pads to block the ear ports by the hinge. Hopefully that will reduce the noise. If it doesn't I'll be shopping for a full face helmet. June 14, 2013
Well priced for its style and features. I bought two of this helmets: one for my wife and one for me. Even though they are rounded, my wife with a more oval head, struggled with the chin strap as it is way too back and tightens her neck. The same happens to me. The other thing is that even though the shape is rounded and I have a rounded head, the top of my ears fits a little bit out of the foam so they end up hurting a bit. The good things are that it is super comfortable, easy to use in different modes, very silent, high quality and airy. June 11, 2013
Very good Very good helmet, it is comfortable and protects well of the cold. June 10, 2013
great helmet ! had a older nolan helmet , decided to update ! glad i did this new nolan helmet is so much better! June 10, 2013
A solid helmet that still holds up to the newer competition. Newer modulars now on the market might trump the N90 with newer/better features, but the N90 still holds its own as a great modular - especially at the current Revzilla price. The one feature that disappoints is the sun visor shield that just doesn't seem to come down far enough. Other than that, a solid buy and great value. Good impact test ratings as well. June 3, 2013
Great Value This is a quality helmit and great value. had to exchange the size and the exchange was 100% trouble free. I will buy from Revzilla again for sure. May 28, 2013
makes a nice winter helmet I've been riding around with this Nolan N90 for about a month now, and these are my observations and opinions of this helmet. It is my first modular helmet, and I've been riding motorcycles for all of 6 months now, so bear that in mind. First, we had an odd assortment of weather here in Texas which afforded me the opportunity to experience sun, rain, and sleet in this helmet. With that in mind, I stayed mostly dry but not very cool. I think a drop or two may have seeped in from the top vents even though they were closed. The sheild gasket seems to make a really good seal, yet opening and closing is no trouble. The pin-lock insert seems to work better for anti-fog than my other helmet with anti-fog coating(HTC IS-16). Now, about this Texas heat, I sweat on a normal day in this helmet, so there is no way I'll be wearing this when the hundred degree days hit. The chin vent does actually pull in air to the visor like it is supposed to, but the chimney vent is misaligned or something because I'm just not feeling it, not even a general circulation over the top of my head. And, trust me people, I'd feel it because I'm bald on top. I pulled the liner out and looked at the venting holes; they start out big and end up as a tiny hole to the outside. I thought about drilling it out, but then I reconsidered: it will make a good winter helmet, and I'll keep my other helmet for summer which has really good ventilation. For fitment, I have a mostly oval head, and this helmet fits well except for a slight pressure at the forehead. When I put it on, it feels like the helmet is making me frown because of the weight on the brow (even with the chin bar down). As far as the chinstrap goes, whether I sit the helmet more forward or more to the back, the chinstrap is more uncomfortable than a D-ring strap. And now I need to end this becuase I'm more than three drinkds in and uncuomfortable is getting hard to spell. Sorry, last sentec unspell check, cola and rum, my lips are numb. :) I forgot to mention I cut out the earhose becuase is was hutring my ears. Alos so I could hear my pipes. Also, tunring my head is diffecult, chin seems to hit my shoulder more than should. May 26, 2013
good look, good comfort, good helmet slick looks, decent weight, good air flow, a tad bit noisy, great helmet! May 20, 2013

Answer:
The Schuberth SRC Systems are made by Cardo Systems. Thus, the only other communication systems that will work with the SRC are those made by Cardo. As of February 2013, the unit that we would recommend would be the Cardo Scala Rider G9. It has very similar functionality to that of the Schuberth SRC systems, and since it includes a sticky mount and clamp you can mount the unit however you see fit.

I am interested in the N90, but have pretty neutral or intermediate oval head shape. The HJC Symax 3 puts pressure on the front of my forehead, as do most HJC models. The Shoei Qwest fits me quite well. Is the N90 as round as the HJC's or is it a little more neutral/oval like the Qwest?

Answer:
We find both helmets to have a very similar, slightly round, fit. For more of an intermediate oval fit, we would recommend looking at the Nolan N104 or Shoei Neotec as they better accommodate more intermediate headshapes.

We find the Nolan N90 helmets to weigh in the 3-3/4 to 4 pound range (estimated) depending on the size. webBikeWorld.com is also an excellent resource for helmet specifications and they weighed a size Large N90 at about 1785 grams or 3 lbs. 15 oz.

Answer:
I don't consider the helmet heavy for a flip-up (it is heavier than a lot of full-face, though).
I can weigh on you over the course of a 4+ hour ride.
I doesn't bother me, at all, riding to work and back.
I will consider shell size and weight, the next time I look at helmets, though.

Answer:
These are totally different helmets, so they don't compare as apples to apples. The EXO-500 is a great sport or sport/touring helmet and is even preferred by cruiser riders as well.

The Nolan N90 is a modular helmet with a front flip-face. Modulars are great as a convenience feature for commuters and/or touring, however, then tend to run a bit noisier and heavier than most full-face helmets.

Answer:
I can only speak for the Nolan N90s, which is what I own. If you have a round head like myself, go with the Nolan. It also has great features like the visor that "notches" up for varying degrees of air flow, and the built-in "top gun" shades that I really love. It's also modular which I like a lot. Can't speak to the EXO but the Nolan is fantastically well built (made in Italy).

Can't answer that, but I compared the 103 to the 104 and decided that the 104 was worth the extra money. After using it for a couple of months, I still feel that way.

Answer:
They fit differently. The N103 didn't fit me right, but the N90 did, that made all the difference for me. Right now if I were you I would also consider the N104 for its increase in visibility.

Answer:
Webbikeworld voted this helmet as the 2010 Flip Up helmet of the year. There is also weight tables on their website for various helmets. I believe the N90 is lighter. (barely)

Answer:
I looked at both helmets. It was a toss up between the N90 and the N103, but chose the N90 for value, even though I really liked the fit of the N103 and the N90 was cheaper for basically the same features. Can't go wrong with either.

Answer:
Hi, I have a Nolan x-lite. It is a very comfortable head bucket. Quiet? Well sort of. (it's all relative). My advice; fwiw, find a local retail to try it on. Nolan makes great modular helmets

I have tried on the Agv Miglia and I found it to be the best fitting helmet for my head.
I didn't see a shape detail on your Miglia page.
Also, is this the same chin strap mechanism as the Miglia? Personally, I didn't care for that one.

Answer:
I wore my new n90, this morning.
I will say that the n90 doesn't feel extraordinarily different than the miglia (definately the same shape range), but I would say that the miglia fits my shape a little bit better.
The forehead feels a little tighter than it did on the miglia and the ear area feels a little more spacious. The sides of the jaw area feel a little tighter, as well.
The miglia just felt like it was contacting more parts of my head, evenly.
There certainly aren't enough differences to warrant a return or different helmet, just another comparison.

Answer:
I have the AGV and the N90. The Miglia is more oval than the N90. Not by much, but if I really pack my head into the N90, I feel pressure I do not feel with the AGV. In normal riding, I don't notice it much if at all. My ovalish head fits deeper into the Miglia without pressure points.

The chinstrap on the N90 is much better than the AGV. Both sides of the N90 strap are rather rigid, and one rachets up on the other. Very clean and easy. I don't like the AGV gizmo either.
If you get the AGV, cut out two shaped-to-fit pieces of high-density foam and glue them inside the helmet at the ears. Otherwise the noise is terrible. Even with the inserted foam I wear earplugs.

Answer:
This is very close to the Miglia (my last helmet). The padding is slightly thicker it seems (or the old one was just worn lol), so it fits a little more snuggly, but is the same basic size. The chin strap is different, but still just as quick to get on and off.

Answer:
I have used an AGV Miglia Medium. I just purchased the Nolan and I have to say I feel little to no difference. The N90 fits me better. Feels more comfortable too.
