Great product. The Nolan N90 helmet comes at an amazing price point, it is very well built, made in Italy and fits true to size. I believe it has a round oval shape so it may not fit all head shapes. I have several friends that use this helmet and all of them were impressed by how quiet it is compared with other, more expensive helmet brands they used in the past. The internal visor does not distort at all, the eye port is very wide. The chin guard is very flimsy, it pops out of its place every time I take the helmet off, they could improve on that one a bit. It was not easy to install a Sena communicator, the shape of the helmet bottom edge is such that the mounting hardware is forced out when the screws are tighten. I bet that Nolan's own communication devices fit well though. The weight is also not great when compared with carbon fiber helmets, but it is not heavier than other modular helmets currently available. Overall, a very well built helmet, a bargain for the price, especially when on sale. March 3, 2014
Good buy for the Money It was a bit snug getting it on but I like the fit of the helmet. This is my second Nolan and I buy for the integrated communications and quality. I wish they weren't so noisy, that really cuts down on hearing the GPS. Noise level is the only negative about them. March 3, 2014
Great Modular Helmet I purchased this helmet from Revzilla and it has been great. I have never had a modular helmet before but now I can never go back. It is so easy to get on and off without removing my glasses. The other couple of things that rock are the Nolan ez buckle and the internal sun screen that really makes this helmet a pleasure to wear. Best Helmet Yet I'm not one to buy a super expensive helmet. I've never owned one so I'm sure they're maybe worth the money in style and comfort. This is probably the most I put into a helmet and its the best I've had. Noise level is great. I can hear my music and calls. Fits my head better. The optional defogger insert is probably the best feature. Love this helmet... Buy it February 3, 2014
comfortable fit the helmet fits comfortable and the pin lock system is awesome, as with a lot of modular helmets it is heavy so bikes that have an aggressive riding posture, you will tend to feel the weight January 26, 2014
Excellent Product Fit is perfect, air flow is good. Quality workmanship. Great helmet. March 10, 2014
Good quality at inexpensive cost. Normally to get the features this helmet has, you would have to spend a lot more money. I have only used this helmet in the colder months so far (down to -7C°) & I would not have been able to do that with my old helmet due to the fact that I would not have been able to see because of a foggy shield. The double fog shield in this helmet proved to be an asset when it comes to cooler riding. I hope it is not too hot in the summer. January 3, 2014
Good stuff Bought this for my wife. She has a big round head and other helmets would not fit right. This helmet was also on sale so we saved a bunch on it. It has easy to find air vents and even with gloves on. The built in sun shades are also easy to use too. December 30, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Dave G: It was a good deal. Aug 18, 2014
Victor Q: Best modular helmet under $200.00 Jul 28, 2014
Larry G: The price and features were what we liked about the helmet. Nolan makes all the parts so its not made in China! Plus the SHARP program rated this helmet well and it remained locked during contact 100% of the time. For a modular that is important. Jun 22, 2014
William S: Best fitting helmet I've ever owned. Solid built, best functionality, the sunshield is the best. Jun 18, 2014
gerald o: I like the safety of a full face, but wanted a modular for convenience with wearing glasses. I also liked the addition of the built in sun visor. I also wanted to try the ratchet system. Nolan is known for their quality and fair price point without compromising safety. It was also easy to install an aftermarket com system in this helmet. Jun 18, 2014
Tom H: Love this helmet! Great!!!! May 18, 2014
Kevin A: Research lead me to this helmet. Have not been sorry. Great fit, Great Helmet!! Apr 29, 2014
JUAN R: Expected to be good, comfortable and quiet for the price. Now I have a year with it and I don´t like it.
For the price it´s a good flip up helmet, for my oval head shape it´s not. A very loud helmet too!
If a flip up helmet is not a must for you, buy a closed helmet unless you can afford a Shuberth or a BMW.

michael a: first of all i was looking for a modular helmet. secondly i wanted an internal sun shade, similar to my, now defunct, hjc is-33 helmet. thirdly, anthony's video. forthly, the price. the closeout price was hard to beat. well i did find it cheaper on another site, but that helmet was in black, so i paid more for the color. finally the "connectivity" is a big bonus at this price in a helmet of this quality. Nov 29, 2013
Robert K: Despite being an older and less-expensive Nolan model, it is the one that fit my head the best. It also seemed a bit less "squeaky" when I had it on compared to other Nolans. Nov 29, 2013
J DAVID D: High quality name. Better close out price than for HJC Sy Max III match helmet. Nov 23, 2013
Steve M: Fit my head shape, liked the sunshield, the chin bar felt very secure. Nov 8, 2013

Andrew S: The N90 is one of the few that fits my round shaped head. I first ordered the Nolan N104 and Shubert and returned them because of discomfort. The N90 is also nicely styled and easy to operate. It is not particularly quiet but not unlike others I have tried. Oct 9, 2013

Jerome R: All time best seller for Modular helmets and fits about right with my 22 1/2" head size. Aug 22, 2013
Marc G: wanted combo helmet; this one seemed a good deal and had great reviews on Revzilla! Aug 21, 2013
Scott S: Best fitting for wife Aug 17, 2013
Eric L: Tried on a friends medium, was blown away by the fit, comfort, and the flip up face and the drop down shades. Aug 16, 2013
Gordon M: A friend has the Nolan 104, and loves it, and I myself will buy the 104 when I purchase another helmet. But this helmet is for my wife, who I've been trying to get on rides with me and our friends for some time now. She has been having problems finding a helmet that fits her pumpkin head.( Her own words.) So when I showed her your video on the Nolan N90, she said she would give it a try. We will let you all know when it arrives if it fits the bill or not. Cross your fingers.

Corn: Webbikeworld voted this helmet as the 2010 Flip Up helmet of the year. There is also weight tables on their website for various helmets. I believe the N90 is lighter. (barely)

William S: I looked at both helmets. It was a toss up between the N90 and the N103, but chose the N90 for value, even though I really liked the fit of the N103 and the N90 was cheaper for basically the same features. Can't go wrong with either. Apr 2, 2012

SAAVA: They fit differently. The N103 didn't fit me right, but the N90 did, that made all the difference for me. Right now if I were you I would also consider the N104 for its increase in visibility. May 14, 2012

Grifftoothjockey: Hi, I have a Nolan x-lite. It is a very comfortable head bucket. Quiet? Well sort of. (it's all relative). My advice; fwiw, find a local retail to try it on. Nolan makes great modular helmets Sep 25, 2011

Quackerback: Can't answer that, but I compared the 103 to the 104 and decided that the 104 was worth the extra money. After using it for a couple of months, I still feel that way. Aug 29, 2012

A shopper asked: I am interested in the N90, but have pretty neutral or intermediate oval head shape. The HJC Symax 3 puts pressure on the front of my forehead, as do most HJC models. The Shoei Qwest fits me quite well. Is the N90 as round as the HJC's or is it a little more neutral/oval like the Qwest? Jul 16, 2012

HB2012: Have a Scorpion EXO 700 and an HJC.The Nolan fits me better than both Very comfortable helmet.Shape to me seems neutral.I am not a fan of Shoei because they ride higher on my head than other helmets. They make an excellent product but do not fit well on my head. Mar 18, 2013

RevZilla: We find both helmets to have a very similar, slightly round, fit. For more of an intermediate oval fit, we would recommend looking at the Nolan N104 or Shoei Neotec as they better accommodate more intermediate headshapes. Jul 23, 2012

ch12345: I tested an HJC IS-MAX BT and the size matched. Just be aware that I found that this helmet put a little pressure in my forehead (round?) but it broke-in in about a week. I am very happy with it. Mar 12, 2013

A shopper asked: how much does it weigh? Jun 26, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
doubleJ: I don't consider the helmet heavy for a flip-up (it is heavier than a lot of full-face, though).
I can weigh on you over the course of a 4+ hour ride.
I doesn't bother me, at all, riding to work and back.
I will consider shell size and weight, the next time I look at helmets, though.

RevZilla: We find the Nolan N90 helmets to weigh in the 3-3/4 to 4 pound range (estimated) depending on the size. webBikeWorld.com is also an excellent resource for helmet specifications and they weighed a size Large N90 at about 1785 grams or 3 lbs. 15 oz. Jun 27, 2012

A shopper asked: I have tried on the Agv Miglia and I found it to be the best fitting helmet for my head.
I didn't see a shape detail on your Miglia page.
Also, is this the same chin strap mechanism as the Miglia? Personally, I didn't care for that one.
JJ
May 21, 2011
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
MotoElvis: I have the AGV and the N90. The Miglia is more oval than the N90. Not by much, but if I really pack my head into the N90, I feel pressure I do not feel with the AGV. In normal riding, I don't notice it much if at all. My ovalish head fits deeper into the Miglia without pressure points.

The chinstrap on the N90 is much better than the AGV. Both sides of the N90 strap are rather rigid, and one rachets up on the other. Very clean and easy. I don't like the AGV gizmo either.
If you get the AGV, cut out two shaped-to-fit pieces of high-density foam and glue them inside the helmet at the ears. Otherwise the noise is terrible. Even with the inserted foam I wear earplugs.

doubleJ: I wore my new n90, this morning.
I will say that the n90 doesn't feel extraordinarily different than the miglia (definately the same shape range), but I would say that the miglia fits my shape a little bit better.
The forehead feels a little tighter than it did on the miglia and the ear area feels a little more spacious. The sides of the jaw area feel a little tighter, as well.
The miglia just felt like it was contacting more parts of my head, evenly.
There certainly aren't enough differences to warrant a return or different helmet, just another comparison.

lance2448: This is very close to the Miglia (my last helmet). The padding is slightly thicker it seems (or the old one was just worn lol), so it fits a little more snuggly, but is the same basic size. The chin strap is different, but still just as quick to get on and off. Sep 19, 2011

Edward M: This helmet is made in Italy, and is both DOT and CE rated. It also gets high ranking in the SHARP safety evaluation system which, while not yet an "official" certification system, is actually more rigorous than either DOT or CE. I've been completely satisfied with it in about 2 years of use. Dec 28, 2013

A shopper asked: What blue tooth communication devices can I apply to my Nolan N90 helmet that will make it compatible with the Schuberth C3 SRC system? Feb 10, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Schuberth SRC Systems are made by Cardo Systems. Thus, the only other communication systems that will work with the SRC are those made by Cardo. As of February 2013, the unit that we would recommend would be the Cardo Scala Rider G9. It has very similar functionality to that of the Schuberth SRC systems, and since it includes a sticky mount and clamp you can mount the unit however you see fit. Feb 12, 2013
