Nolan N43E Helmet

A brand new offering from Nolan to replace the N42E open face helmet. The N43E features a redesigned face shield which now has an intermediate open position (previous version was either open or closed) and a new locking pivot kit.

Features:

  • VPS (Vision Protection System) - short dark shield mounted on the inside of the helmet drops down independently from the face shield
  • VPS available in amber, light blue and light smoke (as an accessory)
  • Quick-change face shield is optically correct, UV-400 and fitted in an exceptionally large eyeport
  • Face shield accepts the Pinlock antifog insert (not included) 
  • Ready for the N-Com communication system 
  • Lightweight aerodynamic polycarbonate shell with built-in spoiler for improved stability
  • Fully removable and washable Clima-Comfort liner is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and wicking 
  • Super-efficient JSW top vent with exhaust grid in the rear spoiler; works in conjunction with the air channels along the crown
  • Microlock (adjustable quick-release) retention system 
  • Velour chin-strap padding 
  • D.O.T. approved 
  • 3.25lbs
  • Includes VPS removal tool

Note:  N43E is a traditional 3/4 Helmet and does not include a chinbar. The N43E Trilogy has a removable chin bar.

I ride a naked bike and I like that wind-in-the-face feel of an open-face/half helmet. I ride in all weather so I got the Nolan 3/4 style thinking I could partially flip the visor to deflect rain. As it turns out the 43E has become my everyday choice (I have two other helmets). The visor does indeed deflect wind and rain when partially flipped; and when it's fully closed it's almost un-noticable! Very quiet and optically correct with just the right amount of tint. Very comfortable as well.

WOW! - This is my third open face helmet (HJC AC-3, Bell Mag 9 (returned)) and clearly the best one.
Why?
1. Super wide vision - better than any other helmet I have ever tried on
2. Quality sun visor - Easy to use simple slider, goes down far enough.
3. Overall quality - Far above Bell Mag 9 and above HJC AC-3 but a bit below Shoei.
4. Good fit - For me a bit tight on the ears but not uncomfortable.
5. Very smooth operating front shield with useful middle detent.
6. Feels very light
Negatives:
1. Helmet creaks a little when on. Not bad but it makes my Shoei Quest feel a little higher quality.
2. While the latch is super easy to use it is a bit large and you notice it when you put your head down. Once again not a major negative.
Overall a keeper.
Have not tried out the top venting.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Our second set of Nolan's and not a bit disappointed! Size stayed true and the fit was excellent. We really enjoy the updated features (i.e. sun shade inside the cover and the way it flips up and down - very easy for riding). We have tried them all and will always stick with Nolan... great value and product!

The helmet was exactly what I expected. I ordered it for my wife. It fits very well. Revzilla was very professional to deal with. The helmet came well packed and was delivered on time. I would definitely order from Revzilla again in future.

I am going to purchase a Nolan N43E helmet but worried about size. My measurement is 23 7/8 in. and normaly wear a XL but i have had times when I had to get a 2XL. Do Nolans run a little small or are they pretty much right on?

Answer: 
The Nolan helmets sizing is very accurate, so you can order your helmet in the same dimension you usually wear. This helmet in particular tends to fit rather round.

We found the N43E's run true to size. Revzilla has a system for measuring if you are unsure or you can call them... excellent tech help on the phone.

They run a little small. Maybe has to do with my particular head shape (not round at all)
The Nolan size chart says i`m a XL, i bought a XXL and it fits tightly
