Assuming your old gloves don't yet reek of palm-sweat and aren't disintegrating at the seams, renew their life with Nikwax Glove Proof. This magical substance restores or even creates waterproofing for your beat-down leather or fabric gloves. Ideal for leather and fabric gloves that have lost their water repellancy.
Safe on Gore-Tex, eVENT and Sympatex
Glove Proof will keep your mitts/gloves warm and dry
I've never used NikWax before. After reading the reviews, I thought I would order a bottle with a new pair of winter gloves. I applied it to the new gloves which are fabric and leather (Alpinestars Drystars) and my regular leather gloves (Joe Rocket Sonics). I had my hands in the gloves when applying the NikWax to stretch them out. Shortly after applying the NikWak, my hands felt like they were a combination of dry and burning. The next three or four times I wore the Drystars, I got the same sensation. The back of my hands turn red and look like the skin has been dried out by extreme cold temperatures. I rode yesterday for the first time without having that problem. Another issue is that the applicator on the bottle is poorly designed and doesn't let you control the flow of the product very well. I haven't been in the rain yet (just wet fog), so I can't comment about its function. It could do a fantastic job of rain-proofing and I still wouldn't use it again or recommend it to anyone. I thought I was going to have to throw away both pairs of gloves.

NikWax Glove Proof
Nothing amazing about this product. Smells weird and is not absorbed easily by fabrics.
Hasn't been tested in serious rain yet.

I got this to apply to my Gerbing G3 gloves. Application was very easy and took very little time. Just dab it on and wipe off excess. Let it dry and your good to go. It worked as expected when I got stuck in a rain storm. A must if you have an item that needs to be protected from water.

Does not work as advertised.
This product did not work on my Gerbing gloves. The leather still soaked during the rain. Save your money for a different solution to waterproofing leather.

Works as Advertised
I bought the Nixwax to waterproof 2 pairs of gloves. First coat was easy to put on but I bet I missed a spot here and there so I applied (or tried) to apply a second coat. No luck, the liquid just ran off.

As with everybody else as soon as I used this on my gloves I havent had a chance to ride in the rain. was kind of a pain to put on with the sponge on top of the bottle had to put a finger in the vise and hold the one next to it it get in between to fingers. as soon as i get some rain time will try to update.

Not as good as Gore-Tex liners but better than regular untreated leather. Makes gloves last longer.

A little hard to apply
I put this on heated gloves. I had to get help applying between the fingers. Would have been easier in a pump spray bottle with a extra sponge or cloth.
Have not tested in wet weather yet (as usual, I buy winter gear and the temperatures immediately shoot into the 70's and are sunny..)
