does what you want it to Got this for the girl for just about every outdoor activity as well as some indoor as she tends to run a bit cold, and she loves it. Her workplace tends to not pay for heat, so it sees quite a bit of run time while shes on the job as well. I've been told the fit and finish is 5 stars from the female fashion perspective, so there's that. Functionally the selective heat modes have been great depending on the wearer's level of cold and need for heat, but do note that the advertised run time is definitely on the lowest heat setting, and running on the highest boil your blood setting will definitely drain a good battery in under 3 hours. On the plus side even with no heat running the vest is good insulation layer itself. overall, great vest for the cold blooded or cold weather minded adventurers, but get a spare battery if you are desiring higher output March 9, 2015
This vest is amazing! This product arrived overnight! I was shocked to see it on my porch the very next day after ordering. I originally bought this vest to use on chilly days when commuting to work on my bike. The style is so comfortable and light weight that I've been wearing it just to stay warm on cold days at work and at home. It's like having a heat pad on surrounding me. I usually wear a size XL in jackets and coats so I orginally bought a XL. It was too big. I called customer service and they were extremely helpful explaining how an exchange would work. I ended up with a M that fits perfectly. Excellent product and amazing service! January 26, 2015
Great purchase Bought this for riding in cooler weather since I tend to get cold easily. I also wanted something to keep me warm during school football, baseball and softball games. This vest is plenty long and did not gap or let air in at my lower back (I am 5'8" and it came to mid-hip). At low I could feel the heat, but it was slight- just enough for a cool day. The next weekend I used it at a softball tournament that did not get above 45•. I had it on next to high and it worked fantastic until the battery died after 5 hours. The 10 hours is certainly on the lowest setting, and I expected it to be shorter, but for the rest of the day I was wishing I had bought a second battery. The fit is quite good, and the sides are stretchy. I usually wear an 8 and bought large. It is slightly loose, but I didn't want to go smaller and not have it zip all the way. Wear it as close to the body as possible, with a thin shirt under to allow as much warmth to reach you. The more layers between it and you the less you'll feel the heat. The zipper can open top or bottom, and sitting on the bike I tended to unzip the bottom slightly so it wouldn't bunch up at my waist. This best is a great buy and if possible, buy the extra battery. this product delivers as promised This vest is pretty amazing. It is not bulky at all but with a tight fit delivers enough warmth to get you through freezing temperatures. I made it through the first snow storm of the season, low temperatures were not a problem. Even the medium setting is good enough for riding in the low 50's. I will use this vest also for skiing. excellent product Works as expected. Would highly recommend. Excellent product. March 10, 2014
Great Product and Customer Service Guidelines for writing a review advise not mentioning customer service, but limiting comments to the product. The product, a heated vest I got for my wife, is amazingly effective. It provides and retains heat nicely. But I ordered the wrong size, a medium instead of a large, and I feel a need to mention the excellent customer service. They were very helpful in guiding me through the return / exchange process. Thank you! January 27, 2014
Excellent Vest! Excellent warming vest. I received the vest as a gift and as soon as I charged the battery I put it to the test. It instantly got warm. Can't wait to try it on the road. January 14, 2014
Good quality product! Good quality, love the feel and the fit, but could be warmer! September 10, 2013

A shopper asked: I like the style of the vest but I live in Florida. Is the vest hot and can I remove the battery pack because I don't need to use it all year. Also, how is the fit? Is the vest long enough so my shirt is covered completely in the back? I really want something that will keep my shirt from blowing around. Any pockets?

Lynn N: I also live in Florida. I do not think the vest is hot. The battery pack can be taken out of the zippered pocket on the left side if you know you will not need it that day. Some times I put the battery pack on the lowest setting just to take the chill off my back and then when warmed enough I shut it off. The heating wires are on the front chest area and center back. It will be plenty long for you and will definitely cover your shirt. I like the fit. It is contoured to go in at the waist. There is a subtle black on black pattern on the material. There is also a pocket on the right side. If you are looking to get a heated item the one I absolutely love is Mobile Warming Longmen Shirt. They show it under men's but it comes in xsmall and 2xsmall. I wore this shirt every day when I was in Scotland. It has a long zipper so you can take it off easily and a mock turtleneck to keep the wind from getting down your neck. same battery pack May 2, 2014

Laura H: You can remove the battery or just turn it off. It is a tight fit. It needs to fit tight so you can feel the heat. I have the medium. I'm a pear shaped size 8. It reaches past the top of my back pockets on my jeans. I tend to tuck the shirt I wear under it into my pants since the vest will ride up on me if I'm doing a lot of bending or squatting. Never have a problem when I'm just riding my bike. I use the vest off the bike a lot too. Like when I was shoveling all the snow this year. It does have 2 hand pockets with zippers but one of them holds the battery. There is still some room to put other stuff in that pocket but since it's a tight fit it will look like you have a tummy when the pockets are stuffed and you're on your bike. May 5, 2014

Dennis C: I am from Iowa, so cooler weather here. I love my vest. It is very nice looking to wear. It has 2 side pockets. You can unplug the battery if don't need it. It goes down low in front and back about to the hips. I have a medium. I am 5'6 about 138lbs. It is fitted, but stretches. You wear it over 1 top and want it fitted next to your body or you wouldn't feel the heat as well. I then wear a coat or sweatshirt or both over top of it. The heating elements are only in the upper back and chest. It's cute to wear without the heat on, or just pack and take along in case you get chilly. I like it so much better than my leather vest. And it is very comfortable. I also purchased a longer life battery to use on long trips. May 4, 2014

Sandra T: I've had this vest now through two Arizona winters. I don't wear it once the weather warms up much past about 60-65 degrees (and I get cold easily) since it has a wind stopper fabric on the front. You can definitely remove the battery and use the vest w/o it. But I've ridden many times with the battery just simply turned off and unplugged (but still in the pocket) when it's warm enough then I plug it back in when needed. The vest is nice and long. I bought a size small and it comes well past my waist. I'm 5'7" and 115 pounds. Overall, I love this vest. It is one of the best all-around motorcycle gear purchases I have made and would highly recommend it if you ride when it's cool or cold. May 4, 2014

Diane B: Vest is not "hot" in and of itself, unless you turn up the heat! Adjustable: 4 settings -- the higher you turn it up, the faster the battery charge wears down.
Battery is removable -- must be disconnected/removed to recharge it (USB cable to household outlet)
Excellent wind-layer without heat turned on.
Fit is large, order a size down (I normally buy a LARGE in tops, went with MEDIUM)
Vest is LONG, will cover completely in back.
2 pockets on seam

David M: the battery pack is removable and it is a long fit so you wont be showing your plumbers crack to the world as you crouch over your sports bike :)
I brought this for my wife and she loves it.
One tip is if you're only doing a short ride turn it on 5-10 before you get on the bike as it takes a little bit to heat up.

A shopper asked: How much does the vest weigh? Nov 23, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Lea A: It's still very light weight. It has the wiring in it for the heat, but it really doesn't make it feel heavy or bulky at all. I love this vest and even wear it for every day when it's cold. I'll use it snowboarding too. Get it small enough that it's a snug fit. I originally ordered a med (according to sizing chart) and exchanged for a small. Highly recommend this vest. Good luck! Sevak F: The vest itself is very light, wiring adds only a few ounces to the synthetic vest. The power supply is built from two ~3.7v lithium ion cells and weighs roughly the same as a pack of 4 AA batteries.

Notes: It appears that this system was developed for Ansai sportswear and rebranded. I don't have any complaints about functionality.

Sandra T: I don't know just how much it "weighs" in actual pounds but it isn't overly bulky. I really like this vest and wear it regularly in the winter. I can easily wear it under my motorcycle jackets. It works great. Sandi Nov 24, 2013

A shopper asked: can this vest be plugged into a bike while you are riding? Mar 14, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jessica F: I don't think you can, at least not without rigging something to the charging port to run to the bike battery. What I did is bought an additional battery so I can connect one to the jacket and charge the other one on the bike. I really like the vest, it fits great and it was quite warm riding in below freezing temperatures in Canada. Mar 14, 2015

John C asked: I'm wondering about charging options for this vest. Can it be charged off the bike as you travel? Otherwise it would be a bit useless on an extended tour with camping at night. Sep 30, 2014

John C: Sorry, I worded that very poorly. My question is, can I charge the battery from the bike's electrical system as I ride? Does it have any type of a 12 volt changing system with it? Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for replying so quickly? Sep 30, 2014
Duane K: They sell some accessories to accomplish your goal. Look for mobile Warming 12v car charger $17.99 and Powerlet Cigarette socket battery leads standard duty $23.96. Mobile warming also sells an extended battery pack that can give you about 20 hours of heat on the vest on low setting. It's $62.99. Hope this helps. My wife and I both have vests and really like them. They function really well and look great! Oct 1, 2014
Duane K: As is the vest comes with a battery pack and wall charger. You would need to purchase accesories Oct 1, 2014
