Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Front Tires

The new Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact allows the rider to keep everything under control. The tire follows the riders instincts with a sublime blend of precise and effortless handing. The wet weather handling of motorcycle tires, and especially the braking performance in wet conditions, is becoming an increasingly important feature demanded by the sport-touring rider. This rider requirement occurs especially if it rains suddenly and a high level of security is needed. Metzeler designed the Z8 with the demands of modern sport riders in mind.

  • Multi Zone Tension technology, new updated tread profiles and functional tread pattern place the Z8 Roadtec Interact at the top of the sport touring tire class
  • M-Spec and O-Spec tires feature a bi-compound design
  • 8% wider final footprint area than its predecessor due to the variation of steel belt tensions and a strategically placed tread pattern which optimizes pressures in the footprint area
  • 0° Steel Radial technology
  • MAW (Metzeler Advanced Winding) technology
  • The profile shape, inspired by the Greek letter "Pi", maximizes the flexibility of the profile, thus ensuring an optimum tire footprint under in all conditions
  • The 3-zone-tension Interact ™ Technology gives outstanding mileage and sporty cornering grip
  • FCM (Fine Carbon Mix) High Silica compound with Nano particles ensures performance and safety in all weather conditions
  • Innovative tread pattern, a widened and more elliptical footprint and a host of wear-resistant technologies not normally seen in motorcycle tires give the Roadtec Z8 Interact its best-in-segment mileage and optimal wet performance throughout the tires life
  • New patented tread pattern with strategically placed longitudinal central grooves provide ideal drainage for more than 3/4 of all lean angles in the wet. The remaining tread grooves work to add tread flexibility, extending the footprint for stability in the dry
  • Updated design improves wear regularity which gives riders the benefit of a consistent riding performance across the tires entire life
  • E Spec tire is OE on Honda NC700X
  • (W)-rated for speeds of 168+ mph

DANGEROUS - DO NOT BUY I do not recommend those tires, they are TOO DANGEROUS. I purchased them because they are the OEM tires and came stock with my bike. I was not impressed with the performance of my first set (replaced at approx 5,500 miles due to extreme and unusual wear in the rear wheel tire thread). But the second set performed even worse, they failed CATASTROPHICALLY. During a spirited ride the bike started shacking furiously. After an emergency stop, I checked the bike and found out the THREAD SEPARATED from the front tire (As you can see from the pics). This should not happen on a tire that has covered 4,000 miles. FYI, the bike is garaged (protected from the elements) and the tire pressure were as recommended by the manufacturer (Tire pressure checked before the ride + bike has tire sensors). I narrowly avoided an accident, and for this reason, I do not advise installing them on BMW K1600GT as they are not fit for purpose. Ride safe. November 25, 2015
Great street tire Great street tire, never have I lost traction. Not even in poring rain did these make me nervous. Best tire I have ever had. November 24, 2015
BEST VALUE FOR SPORT TOURERS AND ALL WEATHER RIDERS Metzeler Roadtec tires are great in sporty dry weather canyon carving conditions and confidence inspiring in wet weather. The profile of the tire makes handling very good as well on all medium or heavy sport-tourers. Interstate long distance or aggressive sports riders will both enjoy the benefits of Metzeler's Roadtec Z-8 interact line. October 12, 2015
Great street tire! This is a great street tire for a sport bike. It has great dry grip and wet also. I road these tires from Arkansas to Texas in poring rain and never skipped a beat. November 24, 2015
R1200RT Metzeler is the only brand of tires that have ever been on my BMWs for past 10 years. November 2, 2015
Great Tire! I ride a 1992 Honda Cbr600F2 and I usually run it very hard up mountains. I have run the Z8 M-spec for about 7500 miles now. I'm sure I could get about 8000 on it but I'm wanting to change the pair together instead of a few weeks apart. Great price for the mileage and great grip in the rain, I feel very confident in whatever I throw at this tire. May 25, 2015
Only have 500 miles on it but great tire & sure tread life will ge great. great handling & sticks like glue in the rain. I'm sure tread life will be great. June 8, 2015
Bad design. A dangerous tire. I've had three pair of these tires on my Concourse. The problem is there are no discernible wear indicators. You will go very suddenly from what appears to be a good tire to what in reality is a dangerous tire with threads showing. I got stranded because of this and will never use these tires again. Others have reported this as well. Should have listened to the forums. March 22, 2015

Robert B: My 2002 BMW R1150r currently has the Z6 on it and they are about worn out, I like the way they handle and have not had any problems out of them, I figured the Z8 is the new tire to the Z6 so why not run with the new tires, My BMW dealer could not get the Z8's they gave me a price for the Z6 that was about the same as the Z8. A R: Read a review of Sport Touring Tires in the 29.5.2015 Issue of Motorrad Magazine (German). The Metzeler Z8 M/O was rated top. My two most recent Tire Sets were Pirelli Angel St and Angle GT...both great tires IMO. It's just that Metzeler is owned by Pirelli so somehow these two brands seems to "leap-frog" one another. RevZilla: "M-Spec" or O-Spec denotes that the tire is a dual-compound, and typically used on heavy (loaded or two-up) touring machines to help increase the tire's life. The center contact patch is a harder compound than the sides to reduce the likelihood of a flat-spot forming. May 2, 2013

RevZilla: As long as you are ordering the correct size to fit your rim and are still using tubes, any tubeless tire will work on a spoked rim. Sep 11, 2012
