Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Front Tire

The new Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact allows the rider to keep everything under control. The tire follows the riders instincts with a sublime blend of precise and effortless handing. The wet weather handling of motorcycle tires, and especially the braking performance in wet conditions, is becoming an increasingly important feature demanded by the sport-touring rider. This rider requirement occurs especially if it rains suddenly and a high level of security is needed. Metzeler designed the Z8 with the demands of modern sport riders in mind.

Features:

  • Multi Zone Tension technology, new updated tread profiles and functional tread pattern place the Z8 Roadtec Interact at the top of the sport touring tire class
  • M-Spec and O-Spec tires feature a bi-compound design
  • 8% wider final footprint area than its predecessor due to the variation of steel belt tensions and a strategically placed tread pattern which optimizes pressures in the footprint area
  • 0° Steel Radial technology
  • MAW (Metzeler Advanced Winding) technology
  • The profile shape, inspired by the Greek letter "Pi", maximizes the flexibility of the profile, thus ensuring an optimum tire footprint under in all conditions
  • The 3-zone-tension Interact ™ Technology gives outstanding mileage and sporty cornering grip
  • FCM (Fine Carbon Mix) High Silica compound with Nano particles ensures performance and safety in all weather conditions
  • Innovative tread pattern, a widened and more elliptical footprint and a host of wear-resistant technologies not normally seen in motorcycle tires give the Roadtec Z8 Interact its best-in-segment mileage and optimal wet performance throughout the tires life
  • New patented tread pattern with strategically placed longitudinal central grooves provide ideal drainage for more than 3/4 of all lean angles in the wet. The remaining tread grooves work to add tread flexibility, extending the footprint for stability in the dry
  • Updated design improves wear regularity which gives riders the benefit of a consistent riding performance across the tires entire life
  • (W)-rated for speeds of 168+ mph

I almost always get the Metzeler's, Expensive but they last. Have on 09, 750 Shiver, and 2003 FZ1.Great grip, little rain experience, so I can't give much advice. Iv'e tried a few Dunlap's, They never seem to last any where near as long. I commute 100 mile's a day. Dunlap's just seem to shed the rubber. I check tire pressure's weekly. Iv'e been riding street bike's to work since 1984. Got my first Met in 85 and never really looked back. Had a few tell me about Dun's, tried twice and they are not for me. Everyone has their own style and opinion. Yes, I do ride theses tire's hard at time's. Don't ever go cheap on your tire's. June 12, 2013
Great tire for sporty touring! I only have about 50 miles on these tires so I feel that I cannot fully judge them. However, I do know that they are designed for high mileage touring and they feel like they are firm enough in the center of the tire to last quite a long time. As far as grip in the wet, I cannot say yet because I have not taken them through any water yet. As far as getting enough grip in a substantial lean, I can say that the tires do feel much softer on the edges. I can recommend these tires to anyone who wants a sporty tire for touring purposes. They should last quite a while, but still give that playful feel. May 6, 2013
Great tire for the price. Good thread wear and excellent handling wet and dry I run Metlers on all my bikes. The Z8 is just the next great step for this line. March 13, 2013
Solid stable ride control with great design featues Very happy with the Z8 after 100 miles. Bought this tire after excellent performance from a worn out Metzeler Z6 on my Duc ST4sABS. Break in was quick. After only 50 miles, was able to push to my limit in the turns with a stable feeling of confidence. Held off on rating 5 stars only because tread life remains to be seen. Most of my riding is on secondary mountain roads with lots of hairpins. Never got more than 5k miles from any tire on this bike and expecting better from the Z8. I like the idea of Metzeler's steel belt technology. John in NorCal April 10, 2013
so far so good replaced my tires at the end of the season. For the few miles I logged, the tires felt responsive on my '96 R1100r. December 2, 2012
The first 200 miles I have yet to get out on the track but i can feel a marked difference in traction that actually made me giggle. I have not been out in the rain, but will review after 1000 miles. January 2, 2013
Great sport bike tires Metzler Z8 is a great tire. EZ to mount, excellent grip and a great value. I rated tread life excellent on distance as to how far my old Z6 tires went. As I live in high desert wet traction is no problem. All in all a great tire! December 24, 2012
One word: planted All I can say is, wow. Just switched over from Pirelli Rosso Corsas and can't believe how planted and hooked up these tires feel. I'm not going back. October 29, 2012

Answer:
"M-Spec" or O-Spec denotes that the tire is a dual-compound, and typically used on heavy (loaded or two-up) touring machines to help increase the tire's life. The center contact patch is a harder compound than the sides to reduce the likelihood of a flat-spot forming.

Answer:
As long as you are ordering the correct size to fit your rim and are still using tubes, any tubeless tire will work on a spoked rim.
