Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Front Tire
Bad design. A dangerous tire.
I've had three pair of these tires on my Concourse. The problem is there are no discernible wear indicators. You will go very suddenly from what appears to be a good tire to what in reality is a dangerous tire with threads showing. I got stranded because of this and will never use these tires again. Others have reported this as well. Should have listened to the forums.

Made In Germany
One thing about Germans is that they make great tires. The tire looks great and performs excellent.

Maybe I will buy again
I was satisfied with the Z8s overall but I didn't have enough confidence in them to give them a 5 star rating. I know this isn't the tire's fault but I got two flats in the rear tires. I replaced the tire after the first flat while it only had 3000 miles on it and the second rear tire had 6400 miles on it when it got flat. Front had 9400 miles on it and still seemed to have a 1000 or more left. But since I was replacing the rear I did the front as well.
I also had the rear break loose a couple of times which I didn't care for either. As for handling they did for the most part very well. The front I should say since it performed great for 9400 miles.
I may buy again but first I want to see how other tires perform before going back. I just put on Bridgestone T30s and will see how they do compared to the Z8s.

Sticking with them.
Had Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interacts as OEM on my BMW R1200RT. Liked so well, and lasted so long, I'm sticking with them as replacements at over 11,000 miles.

Good grip, very long wearing.
BMW R1200R, OEM tires. 11,500 miles and still tread left. Never had a tire slip in wet or dry. Was meticulous about pressures. Replacing for max safety, but could easily get 1-2K more miles. Would like to try other tires out of curiosity, but can't imagine how others could be better, so gonna replace Z8s.

Good commuter tire
I've been through a few of these on the rear of my Superhawk and they work fine. I probably am more of an aggressive corner-er than most commuters but there is a strip of unused rubber 1/2 of an inch or so on the edges. A lot of riding is done in straight lines.
For me the tread life exceeds the original Dunlop D204ks by about 2K miles.
Honestly what's more important to me than anything else is to get a decent tire, know it well and use the same model so I can forget about it and just ride. These fit the bill and I will keep buying them as long as they are sold. They are consistent quality items.

I had the Z6 - 2011 R1200RT
I'm in the market for a new set of Metzeler Interact tires which will be the Z8. My set of Z6's have lasted for 12,000 miles, double the mileage I would get from Metzelers on my previous 2002 R1150RT.
I ride in the SF Bay area and surrounding areas and have found the Z6 to offer great grip and very predictable responses. I can't comment on wet weather performance as I rarely ride on wet roads given the residual oil situation on Bay area roadways.
Nice to finally have a set of tires that offer long life and high performance for a sport tourer R1200RT.

As good as it gets in this segment
Finally a tire that'll last and still give good service as it goes down. I ran mine all the way down to the wear-bars (OK, not smart) while out on a multi-day trip and they never gave up traction. In the rain they continued to grip nearly as well as new right up to the day they got changed out. Day-to-day service is as good as it gets in this segment. They resist "squaring off" as well as anything I've seen and let my SV1K do what it's supposed to do....
