Why have I not gotten this brace before?!!! This is one piece of rider protective equipment that every motorcyclist should have! Initially, it seemed like a lot of money since it costs more than quite a few of the helmets out there. But after doing a lot of research about neck and spinal cord injuries that can occur during a crash (some can be life altering or even threatening!) and how the Leatt neck braces significantly reduce the risk of such injuries, I was convinced that in the grand scheme of things, the STX road brace was definitely worth the money! Yes, the helmet is still the most important rider protective equipment to have, but I think a neck brace, especially one like the STX road brace (not a little foam cushion collar) is as important as a helmet. I've only been riding with it for about two weeks now so I can't speak for its durability. But the fit is fantastic. It isn't bulky at all and the only time I notice it is when I am doing shoulder checks since the front bottom of my helmet touches the sides of the brace (not really a problem for me). And when it comes to style, I think it looks awesome! All in all, it's a great piece of preventative equipment to have and I personally feel that much safer wearing it. Even if the yellow parts don't match the rest of your riding outfit, you won't care about that if you get into an accident (may that never happen to you!). Seriously guys and gals, get this piece of rider protection! July 23, 2014
Necessity Excellent build and fit. Save your neck . It may be considered overkill by some but its the opposite of the glove free , t-shirt and shorts wearing summer riders. If you prioritize safety over open to serious injury, this product is a step in the right direction. Its solid , based on science and has the light fit and has a high build quality. I am using it consistently. July 12, 2014
Very good product but Revzilla sent me a used one ! I am so disappointed with Revzilla after realizing this item sent was already opened and used and sold as new. I am pretty sure because I bought a second one for my wife and the condition and the way it arrived was really different. Already complained and waiting to have a new on.e The product is excellent and I strongly recommend it. May 9, 2014
Perfect Neck Brace Perfect Neck Brace for road riders and occasional off road trail riders. Fits OVER your jacket and around your jacket collar. Works well with helmet, does no slip. Does not restrict head turning. Easy to put on/remove. Make sure you buy the size that fits OVER your protective gear-maybe 1 size larger than you think you need. Great product from Leatt! Seems pretty cool, tiny bit heavier than I expected So far the brace seems well made. Its definitely only about function, nothing superfluous. It is a little heavy when you first put it on but I think I will get used to it quickly. In particular I ordered it from RevZilla cuz they give free shipping to Hawaii, something few other ppl do. They shipped it the same day I ordered it and it got here super quick. July 29, 2013
never ride without it I bought this thinking neck protection was a good idea, not knowing how soon I was to find out the reality of this. The third event i wore to, I high sided and landed head first... did this thing save my life? I do not honestly know, what i do know is that I did not even have a sore neck the next day... wound up with a sprained wrist and jammed thumb. I am sold, will never ride without it again. Every Street Ride Must Have This neck brace is fully adjustable to fit on your shoulder. Very well design, lightweight and this is the best safety device ever invented for all motorcycle rider. This is a good investment that every rider should have. It is pricey but it is worth it. Now, I never ride without it knowing that my neck and spinal are protected with Leatt STX neck brace. Ride Safe! July 16, 2012
Impossible to make it fit The sizing chart suggested a size XXL. This was way to big. I exchanged for size LG-XL. I really tried hard to get a correct fit with the jacket I wear but found it impossible to do so, even with all the possible adjustments. The brace will not stay in place and will thus not provide proper protection. The brace itself seems sturdy but the elastic bands keeping it in place are a gimmick. Returning this for a refund. Revzilla's customer support is great. Do not expect any support from the company that makes the brace. If you have back and shoulder armor you will have fitment problems. Do not trust the provided size chart June 24, 2012

A shopper asked: Can this be worn in tandem with a backpack (namely Icon backpack)? Sep 22, 2014

Douglas D: I wear mine with my Camelback hydrater on my backroads trips. No issue except one must take off the CB before the Leatt.
Must say I have been Most Satisfied with the Leatt. Unfortunately I have tested it several times. My KLR 650 can't do it all and I took her where a horse would have gone down!! While the speed was slow, the whiplash from hitting the ground with my shoulder must have been considerable. Neither time did I have any neck issues.
If it wasn't for my BackAlign brace and my Leatt I wouldn't be able to ride! I started at 12 and 60 years later and still tempting the dark force.
The Leatt takes quite a bit of fussing to get it adjusted just the way one wants it. However when adjusted, one does not notice it is there. Works just like I had hoped for me.

Nikita S: My answer would be yes. I do it all the time with regular backpacks (not ones specifically designed for riding) so I'd imagine you could with an Icon one.
The number one priority for me when riding with a backpack is to ensure that the neck brace can still do its job without compromise. This means the backpack is the last thing that goes on me when I gear up for a ride. I also make sure that the top of my backpack is below (but not against) the back of the brace. It's hard to avoid contact between the backpack shoulder straps and the neck brace scapular wings (depends on the kind of backpack) so I simply ensure that my backpack is as light as possible and the shoulder straps are not weighing down too much on the scapular wings.
Hope it helps and ride safe!

Harry S: Have owned a Leatt STX for a year and used it multiple times; In have never tried it with a backpack. I speculate that if the backpack is not one that rides up high on your neck, you could likely wear it with the Leatt STX. Maybe one of the Revzilla Staff could break out an STX and actually see if it will work with a backpack... By the way, the STX is very user-friendly and easy to ride with. I wear it all the time. Hector F asked: Can this version be used with a dual sport helmet?

I see that the other versions wont.....
Oct 12, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Douglas D: I use mine with my dual sport helmet. KLR 650 and Scott helmet. It is designed to limit the range of helmet movement, but it must not be too much because I forget it is even there. As I do quite a bit of two and three track here in N. Colorado it has saved my butt....er neck at least five times. I'm talking down and slide typ exits, admittedly from under 30 mph. I can't express how fortunate I have been to have had the Leatt on for the events! My wife said you're crazy to be doing this at 71 having had both broken neck and back, but if you won't stop you must wear this for me! She must still care!!
Lots less expensive than even the ambulance ride, let alone the emergency room or funeral costs. Haven't regretted her insistence once. Might be right for you?

Sergio V asked: Hi Rev,
Is this Leatt STX Road Neck Brace OK for women??

Jun 15, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
José P: Sergio
I have been asked by revzilla to answer your question regarding the Leatt STX road neck brace. Can't say if this neck brace is suitable for women, I can tell you though that for me is very uncomfortable since the front supports push against my chest and after a short period of time starts hurting. I've tried to adjust it by increasing the support angle on the back supports but since there is no intermediate setting the neck brace becomes to loose. Hope this helps.

Mamoon R Z: Hey Sergio,

I have ridden with the brace on only a few times, I dont see any reason for it to be of any concern to women. But I would strongly recomend you speak to Leat the manufacturer directly.

best regards

A S asked: Why do you choose this instead of more compact and light Leatt STX RR? If price was the same, what was your choose then? Nov 12, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Steven C: It appears that the RR is designed for road racing and the position the rider is in on a sport bike. If you are a road rider and not riding a sport bike the Leatt STX is designed for a more upright riding position. Nov 13, 2015

Jackie H: I don't believe it was available when I bought my neck brace. I only recall one other street oriented brace and that was the Jason Britton version at abut $30 more. Nov 12, 2015

A shopper asked: What is the difference between this STX model and the STX Jason Britton? Mar 9, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Douglas D: I have no idea. I don't ride either my Concours or KLR 650 without my Leatt. I have been down a number of times with the 650 admittedly at low speed and IMO it probably saved me from at the least a wrenched neck. No issues.
And after a good deal of adjusting the components, it fits such that I truly don't notice it is even there. Yes, it takes some trial and error to get it correct for ones own body, but hey...we aren't all the same size. If only --doesn't do one bit of good while lying in the hospital bed. I'm parsimonious but I figure the Leatt is lots less expensive than even the cost of the ambulance!!f

A shopper asked: I am interested in the Leatt STX Road Neck Brace. The size chart shows that the XXL size is for chest measurements up to 47.6". My chect is 52". Will the XXL be too tight? That is the largest size they make.

Steven C: Since nobody answered this question I decided to go ahead and try it. The XXL brace fits fine and I would not trust the size chart. I am still sorting out the adjustments but do not have it fully extended aqnd would no doubt fit someone larger than me. Nov 10, 2014

A shopper asked: Does this brace work over Adventure style jackets ? How do you hold it down ? Or is it just held by the helmet ?
Do you know the differences between a Road and Off Road Brace ? I do trail riding and road riding.

ALEXANDRE H: It actually just stays in place if adjusted properly. I have a BMW Ralley 2 jacket and it works great even with a dainese wave jacket underneath. I use it trail riding and it does bounce a bit but does not rotate or really change position and does not interfere with riding. It comes with two harness type straps to make it more secure but I have never used them. This is the only brace I've ever owned and it works great for me on or off road! Jun 24, 2014
