Joe Rocket Velocity V2X Riding Shoes
Hard to beat for the money
This is basically a built-up rugged riding sneaker with some light toe armor and ankle protection. Very stylish, most people wont even realize you're wearing a specialty riding shoe.
They're comfortable enough to wear when not riding, such as at work or walking around shopping. The fit is slightly large and there's more room in the toe area than a sneaker of the same size, which isn't really a bad thing. They've got some weight to them and the soles, toe area and heel are heavy duty and stiff but loosen up with use.
I will admit they felt cumbersome shifting the bike at first because I was used to sneakers, but you will adjust to them. They have a good grip on the pegs and they're not just the right thickness to fit under the shift lever. There's a small armor pad where the lever contacts the shoe so it doesn't wear out the top area with use.
If you put a couple coats of water proofing on these I could see them being a 2 or 3 season riding shoe, depending wear you live. And that makes them a pretty good buy at $125. Be sure to order a half-size down for a snug fit, unless you have really wide foot.
Overall - very good.

Great overall riding shoe!
Very nice pair of riding shoes that does the job on a sport bike. Joe Rocket once again makes another great product, looking forward to what the next version looks like once these deteriorate!
-Bottom soles have great grip that won't slip when you're on your pegs even on hard leans. As well as waiting at stop lights, feet can be planted firmly on the ground and don't have to worry as much about slippage on slick pavement.
-Great weather resistance, the leather has great protection from rocks, cold wind, scrapes and bumps
-Great looking shoes as well (I've had compliments while waiting at a stop light before)
-Comfortable shoe to wear off the bike and not stressful on your feet when walking around.
-Shoelaces are just a little too long that I have to tuck in underneath the cover strap but is bearable.
-A little more velcro could have been added on both sides of the shoe to make the front cover strap tighter for a more tight fit. Even though, current strap design provides good security.
-It would be nice to have the back/heel vented portion of the shoe coated in some kind of rubberized texture instead of straight plastic so it won't scratch the paint off the swingarm or other pieces on the bike that the feet may come in contact with on the bike.

I bought this because i needed something for casual riding, They fit great, look great, I get tons of compliments on them, my only real problem is the velcro doesn't really stick, not a huge problem, but that is why I gave it a good rating for features. This show feels sturdy and get great air flow, I would recommend this to anyone.

very good shoe for the price
I just got licensed last weekend and before I got my bike I spent a while going through all the other shoes and their reviews on revzilla before deciding on the joe rocket v2x's. Can't speak for the others but i'm certainly happy with my decision to get these shoes. pretty stiff in the footbed which assists with shifting IMO and the reinforced toe area is a nice touch to help with the wear of the shift lever. they don't have the best ventilation, as my feet already get pretty warm in the 70 degree weather. i'll update when it gets in the 90's. as others have said you will definitely need to order 1 size smaller than your normal shoe as they run large and the stock footbed will definitely need to be replaced.. other than that 1k in and overall i'm very happy with this product and would recommend to others! shipping was quick and painless as always. excellent experience!

Hopfully not your only shoe
As much as I would like to recommend this product I cannot.
Yes it is a quality shoe with some great track inspired features. Yes it is comfortable, for a track inspired shoe. Yes the low cut makes it a shoe you could wear all day if needed.
I can't recommend this shoe because I'm afraid it would keep someone from getting a real track boot.
It’s really a philosophy of function: If you need replaceable toe sliders on your shoe, then you really need a real track shoe! I have track boots and got these as a run around town shoes and wish I would have gone with some of the other options out there for street shoes/bike.
These are comfortable, but don’t take that as a shoe you would want to walk in all day nor would I really want to even wear them all day. My feet are very happy when they come off (I’m a flip-flop guy). The track inspired features have a cool factor I guess, but I grow sick of having to explain to people why I have such ridiculous shoes on. If you like having people stare at your feet when you are in a conversation then these are the shoes for you. Subtle they are not!
I like the low cut but they need better ankle support and this could be accomplished without going higher.
My recommendation: spare no expense and buy a pair of racing boots for the track days/aggressive canyon days and go with one of the other options out there for running around town/commuting shoes. There are some better options that would fit in better at the workplace and after hour places.
I wear a size 8 street/casual shoe and ordered size 8 in these. If they had size 7.5 it would have been a better fit, but size 8 is working out fine with insoles.
