Really Wanted to Like this Suit First off let me say my review may be biased b/c of fitment issues that I had w/ this suit, but I have owned a lot of JR items and even at the price I was I have to say a bit disappointed. Loved the fact that it was a two piece, but after many break in rides this suit just does not break in very well. The material behind the elbows and knees seems to just dig in, even w/ an undersuit. All the zippers except for the one that connects the pants to the jacket seem to have a mind of their own and the pockets are useless when you can find them. I am 6' @ 190lbs w/ average build and decided on the 44, maybe the 46 would have had me feeling differently about it, but I plan on selling this and getting a Dianese or AlpineStars (but not before trying it on this time!). All that said, it is a substantial suit and seems like it could def take a beating and keep on going. Also for a two piece it looks great IMO and has some good features for the price. I replaced the back protector with the larger D30 insert btw, fit right in there. January 10, 2012
Almost Perfect! I can say I love this suit in the way it feels. It's heavy, but comfortable. It's firm, but what do you expect from a new suit? Here it is. Air flow is nice in the arms and shoulders. The suit is very heavy, weighing it at about 15 lbs. Great as just a jacket. Here are my cons: >Pockets are very hard to reach into...almost pointless having them. No pockets on the pants. The liner is not removable. The Zippers!!!.....All the zippers are awkward. For instance, the side pockets zip up instead of down, which gravity wants to pull them down. The vent pockets on the arm open automatically under high speeds...not sure why, but I assume the direction of air flow pulls the zipper. Overall: Don't mind the zippers or liners, this suit is f'en awesome! I personally think it's better than the Canadian's 11.0 Suit, which has no matching pants, and also beats the one-piece 6.0 suit the Canadians have. America, you have it lucky. Joe Rocket Speedmaster 5.0 Had to go larger due to my wider shoulders and bigger chest so the suit is slightly bigger than it should but at least i can get my arms in. im also 5'9 and its slightly long...but..feels comfortable when i ride. I needed the protection and racing professionally so a skin tight suit isnt what i needed. June 27, 2011

I have Speedmaster 5.0 perf leather pants but no jacket to go with it. I have been looking everywhere for it and the only place that has it are you guys but it's in the two piece leather combo.

So I just was wondering if you sell the jacket by itself.

Do a quick search for the Joe Rocket 11.0 Leather jacket...same jacket, but Canadian, and comes in a suit or as single pieces. About $359 cdn. A quick RevZilla search reveals that it can only be ordered in a suit in the 5.0. I have both and are impressed!

Answer: 
I would not recommend using a backpack on a suit with a speed hump. If you are using this for commuting or other off-track use, I would suggest a tail pack or a messenger bag as an alternate. Of course, if using on a track, you would not be able to ride with a backpack and it would also block the speed humps primary function of making you more aerodynamic.

I've ridden with a back pack on, and haven't had a problem. However your pack will sit a little further back then normal unless you want it rocking on the aero hump.

I often ride with just my jacket and jean pants when riding in town, but any fast paced street action, I am always in full suit. So I guess the question should be "What is your definition of everyday road use?"

Yes! I don't feel safe riding w/o this suit now ....but ...if you get one that is tight it's a pain to take on-off ...go a size up perhaps if you are in the middle of the range ??
