Blurring the lines between moto-ruffian and risk averse, the salvo black contradicts itself shamelessly. Black by day and bright by night, it offers you the compromise you've been looking for. Who but Icon would deliver extra visibility, disguised in a fresh graphic? You don't have to tell your friends, but, the wife and kids will appreciate it.

Best Helmet Ever
Prior to this helmet I had a HJC IS-16 it felt a bit heavy, and in comparison, this helmet fits perfectly. I had to return it once because I ordered a size too small which was a very simple process. Also added a chrome/silver reflective visor to it, changing the visor was a bit nerve wracking thinking I would break something on it, but over all once everything was said and done I wouldn't choose any other helmet, it looks amazing, and feels great.

Great for sportbikes too.
I love this helmet right out of the box. It's different, get lots of stares and the visor feature really works well. I do have some issues:
1.) the chin is longer then my airframe and when shoulder checking it brings up in my shoulder. This forces me to raise my body from the sportbike position and look over my shoulder with my chin raised. Or I remove my hand from the side I am looking and sit up and twist my body.
2.) Changing the shield is one of the biggest issues most complained about when I researched this helmet and I think those people are lazy. The helmet takes a couple extra minutes tops. I change my shield almost ever day and it's not that hard. We just got used to how easy some other helmets are and that spoils us. I do have one small problem. The shield has to small tabs to hook in the gears if the helmet and I don't feel it's going to last. It hasn't broke on me yet but I feel it might.
Overall this helmet works for sportbike riders and there isn't any wind issues when your obeying the law on back roads or highways. I have went much higher in speeds as well with this helmet haven't noticed any extra wind force over my airframe as long as I was in the race tuck.
The visor works well on sunny days which was the main reason I bought it when traveling to and from work. I ride east and west so I get the sun both ways.
The salvo version has cool graphics and not what I expected for reflective graphics. I thought it would have been 3m reflective material but icon has changed it up a bit and added some sparkles to it. I wasn't impressed at first then it grew on me.
For reference I wear a xl airframe and I bought a xl variant. The cheeks are tighter but the top of the head is looser then the airframe. I am 6'1" and weigh 245lbs. I have a big head with fat cheeks so for you athletic guys with bigger heads and slimmer builds you may want a size smaller.
The helmet comes with a bag, removable chin curtain, visor cloth and empty icon spray bottle for some soapy water to be put in. A flat key for removing the screws to take off the shield is also in there but any coin or flat screw driver will do.

Although I have a VARIANT solid Rubatone the problems fit all the Variant models.
I fell in love with this helmet from the first time I've layed eyes on the image.
Being in Romania I've waited almost 3 weeks to arrive and the look was very impressive.
However the shield doesn't fit perfect on the gasket creating a draft on the left side.
I had to fill with sponge the spaces left between the straps and cheekpads to reduce noise.
And the cherry on top was that without any shock to the helmet some plastic rail elements that fix the Supervent cracked and fell off by themselves after 2400 Km made in the city.
So with a heavy heart I say pay attention to detail before buying.

Love my new Helmet! Fit and finish are good, noise level good and it looks excellent. It may be slightly heavier than more expensive options but everything else seems great so far!
