Icon Tarmac 2 Boots

The Tarmac 2 Boot is the fusion of athletic shoe design and necessary motorcycle riding features. An emphasis on street sportbike-specific geometry, increased comfort, and ease of use sets the Tarmac 2 Boot apart from all motorcycle boots that have come before. A reinforced upper, steel shank, molded ankle plate, reinforced toe and heel box equip the Tarmac 2 Boot for duty. The sculpted bottom unit was specifically designed to work with sportbike rearsets and allow positioning of your foot for all-day riding comfort and performance. Add a pre-tensioned stealth lace system and overmolded breathable mesh and you are left with a shoe to take on both all-comers, and all-corners.

Incredible support without sacrificing comfort! Felt great out of the box... I am 63 and have purchased many many pairs of shoes/boots over the years... these are some of the best.... exactly what I was looking for, maximum comfort with maximum support!!! Thinking of getting another pair in black! July 14, 2014
Great Shoe I bought this shoe because it looked very stylish underneath my jeans. I tried the Icon Field Armour 2 Boots and they were just too bulkly and hard to get under my shifter. The Tarmac fits great under my shifter and allows me to feel the shifter. Tarmac's are easy to get on and off and are comfortable to walk around in off the bike, something I think is a definite plus. The size was spot on to my regular saucony atheletic shoes. February 7, 2014
DON'T BUY ! Used for about 30 days than elastic lace broke out of its mount inside the shoe. The lace is built in. The shoe now has to go back to Revzilla than back to Icon for repair. Which can take 3-4 weeks. Even a $10 shoe has a lace that can be replaced within a minute. If its for a motorcycle than it should not break so easily. Why it did? Answer MADE IN CHINA. Retail $135..... yeah right. Now waiting for the Revzilla team to fix my problem January 25, 2014
Lightweight and comfortable for riding and walking! Ideal shoes for me, they give good protection and are great for spring, summer and fall riding. They are comfortable to walk in and are also comfortable shoes to operate rudders in small airplanes. I use my bike to get down to the airport to fly small planes and these shoes are ideal, one shoe for all purposes! Great service from Revzilla and great information on their website! October 7, 2013
Excellent riding shoes I've been looking for a good alternative to my full-sized Sidi touring boots. I commute to work, and wanted something for decent weather with good protection and airflow that would be easy to get off and on. The Tarmacs seem to hit the mark. The fit is generally good. I have very wide, flat feet, and they are quite comfortable. Like any new stiff riding shoe, they take some breaking in, but 5-6 days of wear and riding has started the process nicely. I swapped out the removable footbeds with a good Dr Sholl's gel footbed, which improved the fit and comfort dramatically. Airflow is good. I've been in Boston autumn weather, so they are comfortable in upper-50's to upper-70's. Can't speak to humid 90+ days yet. I also can't speak to wet weather yet; I assume they would fare halfway decently in a light rain, but not in a downpour or all-day wet. The protection seems decent; the malleus pad is good sized, and the overall construction seems solid. They appear to provide good protection for those day-to-say (i.e. non-crash) situations like catching a toe, touching the exhaust, etc. I don't expect the same degree of protection from an ankle-high 'sneaker' as from a full-size touring boot, but they are a huge step up from sneakers. They seem like they would stay on my feet in a crash, unlike most sneakers. The flat, smooth sole slides over footpegs well, and allows a good range of motion. I love not having laces - pull them on, tighten the strap, and go. The Velcro strap holds them on nicely, and is well thought out; it closes to the inside, making it much easier to unstrap. A wider Velcro piece on the boot would provide more range of tightness. Styling is quite good for a riding shoe. It isn't 'obvious' that they're a riding shoe: the shifter pad is integrated (rather than top-stitched on), there are no side pads, etc. They look like slightly dorky Air Jordan type basketball shoes...not high-fashion, but passable. Overall I am quite happy and would recommend these to anyone looking for a decent quality 'around town' shoe for commuting or day-tripping. October 1, 2013
Runs small but great product These are of great quality. Lot's of airflow. They run small and narrow but well worth the money. August 12, 2013
A comfortable, unique look for a riding shoe. The shoe runs a bit big, but the comfoort is excellent for a hard bottomed/toed shoe. I would like to have seen ankle protection on both sides. August 5, 2013
Great summer boots No laces - putting then on is a snap. Ordered them in a same size as a regular shoes fits perfectly. August 5, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
JORDAN G: I have the Icon Accelerant boots which I really like and fit me very well, but they are a bit warm for the (Arizona) summer heat, so I ordered the Tarmacs to get something similar with ventilation. May 31, 2014
Antonio P: I needed a good pair of riding boots but like the style of the basketball shoe. These Icon boots look perfect! The red boots also match my jacket! Looking forward to receiving them and trying them on! Apr 11, 2014

A shopper asked: I have an older pair of the Icon Tarmac boots, and recall that I had to return the boots twice for larger sizes. I wear a 10 shoe, but ended up needing an 11 in the boot. Is this new Icon boot also sized small, i.e., should I order larger than my normal shoe siz? Jul 23, 2014

greg z: I had a similar issue with the Tarmac 1 boot, had to go up an additional half size for better comfort. Play it safe and do the same, some extra toe room is better than too tight any day. Jul 24, 2014

Daniel H: I bought these for my son. He and I both wear 8.5 or 9 depending on the manufacturer. I bought him a size 9 and they fit perfectly.
I hope this helps.

Gregg S: Sizing seems to be fairly accurate. I wear a 13 shoe, and the size 13 Tarmac fits quite well. It required a little breaking in, though not too bad. Jul 24, 2014

A shopper asked: i really like this shoe. im having troubles picking one out that i want to get and i was wondering since this seems to be all vents how it would work out in wet weather. it looks to me as if my foot would be soaked right away. Mar 13, 2013

Barnzy: I have been stuck out in the conditions and for the most part these boots do a good job of keeping the water out.... I have put a layer of Mink oil commonly used on boots to repel water and additional grime and that may be helping out as well..... I have put two coats of mink oil on my boots as soon as I brought them home. Eventaully your socks will get soaked after a 20 minutes in a slight down pour but these boots do a good job of keeping your foot dry during inclement weather. Apr 7, 2013

RevZilla: Your foot will get soaked indeed. This technical sneaker will be great during hot/ humid days. If you wear this shoe during days with questionable weather, make sure to keep some waterproof boot covers under your cowl. You may want to consider the Firstgear Kili Lo WP Boots or the TCX Jupiter 2 Gore-Tex Boots would be a better choice for cloudy days. Mar 15, 2013
