Great Jacket This has been the first jacket that I've ever bought, but I am in love with this jacket! Cool, comfortable, and overall just feels well made. I would recommend this to anyone. As for sizing, I am 5'9" and 165 lbs and the Large fits perfect for me. July 22, 2014
not bad Not bad for the price, base model when it comes to this kind of gear. July 14, 2014
UPDATE My first review of this jacket was very high. It does have a good look, great airflow, and is comfy. HOWEVER, I went down on my L side at about 50 MPH and the jacket shredded right through and now I have serious road rash on my L arm and elbow. What a joke. Can you imagine a crash at highway speeds in this? I'd be toast. Simply due to the lack of protection I can NOT recommend this product to anyone. I tried to upload a photo of the jacket but the site says the pixels are too small (?). July 11, 2014
Excellent 3 season jacket This is a great textile jacket. I purchased the white version and the styling is amazing. I have two slight complaints about the jacket. First, the liner is only a vest so on 40 degree days I need to wear a sweatshirt under the jacket. Second, the white color, while awesome, is extremely difficult to keep grime off. The armor is great and the overall construction is very solid. June 6, 2014
Great. Air. Flow Nice summer. Jacket. Great air. Flow best. From. 55d to 100 could used a cell phone. Pocket. But for the. Money. June 2, 2014
Unscathed... Yesterdays weather High was 67 deg. felt like 77 deg. in traffic and humidity was about 45... Used in 30 deg. and Up weather.. My Specs Athletic built Height - 6'2" Weight 175 pounds Size Large Jacket. I low sided last night at about 60mph slid about 10 ft and tumbled 10 ft, I'm always in upper-body gear and I have no road rash because of this Jacket, I never appreciate it a whole lot more now. after sliding about 10ft then tumbling 10 ft more and all I can show is 2 small bruises on my lower arm, the jacket took the impact pretty great and looks like nothing serious happened. The inner liner was removed as soon as the temperature touched 60 degrees, Ive rode with the lining in at 30 deg. and it kept me relatively warm with a hoodie underneath, the jacket breathes well but in constant traffic (deliberately) it tends to be a little more hot than when moving (obviously). The armor is in the correct spots and the fit is superb. I bought this jacket because of its seasonal capabilities and protection, I love it... June 1, 2014
First jacket and I feel very protected This product gets a 5/5 from me with only one slight issue of the neck area being kinda baggy. I am 6'1" and about 245 i have broad shoulders and my chest is about 43" around so I usually wear a XL. My friend has a L and i tried it on and was really snug so i tried the XL. The XL jacket fits pretty snug around my mid section and shoulders. It has great protection and keeps you warm on the windy and cool days with the liner. I also like the XL becuase I can put on perhaps a quarter zip or some more layers that i couldnt with a L. The only slight concern is I have been having wind rusing down through the neck opening into my shirt making me kind of cold. But when its hot out this will actually come in handy so I do and dont like the neck sometimes haha. GREAT JACKET and well worth the money if you dont want to spend $400 on a leather one. Thank you revzilla. April 29, 2014
A size smaller than recommended I'd checked the size guide and should have been an XL based on my size but after watching the video I went for an L instead. I'm 6'1" ~110kg with broad shoulders and a 36" waist and the large is a nice snug fit. April 14, 2014

A shopper asked: This jacket seems perfect for all needs - just concened about high temperatures in the 90's. Should I keep on looking for a mesh jacket instead of this one? Jun 23, 2011

Justinm417: Just reviewed my experience with the Overlord Textile Jacket... I am in South FL where it gets in the 90's and really like my Contra instead of the Overlord. The Contra has GREAT airflow compared to the Overlord. I liked the look of the Overlord, but returned it keeping my Contra. Plus the Contra has full sleeves on the thermal liner so it's pretty good in coller temperatures as well. The Overlord has a vest style liner. It might ok in cooler weather, but only because the arms don't breath well at all.

Good Luck.

zi3jermyn: I have ridden with this jacket in 100+ heat. It gets pretty good airflow with the wrist zippers open.

Does pretty well at speeds, can get a little warm at a light or in traffic.

Side note - I do have a pretty high tolerance for heat - But I do recommend this jacket for warmer weather.

Also - The liner is vest only - No arms.

Gooseyman777: I wore this thing to and from work over the summer and on all my rides in St. Louis even when the heat index was 105+ I'm not sayin I wasn't hot, but the ventilation in this jacket is awesome and once you start to sweat a bit and you start movin the air circulates like crazy and between the air flow and moisture it actually kinda cools you down! Benjamin P: It depends on your riding needs. If you're doing slow speed commuting (35 mph-ish) I'd say armored mesh might be better. But at higher speeds, the airflow in this jacket is quite good and I personally would want more protection in a crash than mesh can give. Jul 18, 2012

Stevan P: We might suggest a more summer oriented jacket for temperatures in the 90s. The Overlord Textile was designed with a removable liner to offer a wide range of temperature comfort, however, you might be better off with a Icon Hooligan 2 Mesh for hot days. Jun 24, 2011

Trox57: it is excellent at letting air in, although i do have some sweat patches on my back after im done riding for a couple hours with a pack on my back. which is prolly blocking off the exhaust ports Aug 23, 2012

A shopper asked: I'm really thinking about purchasing this jacket in white. I know that keeping it white will be impossible, but if it cleans up well then I'll be more inclined to buy the white one. Dec 11, 2011

Justinm417: Tough question!! I had the Blue which has plenty of white in it and white sleeves. I returned mine due to lack of airflow. The material seemed like you could scrub it or wash it if you had to. I was not that concerned about it when I had it. Just a note, I too am in FL and really like the airflow in the Contra over this jacket. The Overlord just made me sweat...

Good Luck

Chris K: The textile is very abrasion resistant, which also means that it will be hard for dirt to embed into the fabric. If it does get dirty, you can always take the armor out and run it through the wash on a gentle, cold water cycle and hang dry. Dec 22, 2011

BonRien: Depends on where you live. Road dirt washes off without incident, but I seem to take a chunk out of the dragonfly population every time I ride in the summer, and as a result have a few stains that look to be with me for the duration. Dec 7, 2012

pbmuzik: I just recently cleaned mine... went back to original color. My suggestion, dont let it sit with the dirt + grime from the street. I try and clean my jacket after 2 or so rides.... Jan 30, 2012

Benjamin P: Reasonably well. It takes a little scrubbing with a soft brush since you can't machine wash it, but mine is in good shape. Mar 26, 2013

A shopper asked: Is this jacket waterproof? May 19, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Wolken G: Hi,
No it is not waterproof.
But, if there is mild rain it will keep you somewhat dry.
Any hard rain will leave you soaking.

Consider it for a summer-like weather.
