We started with a Kangaroo palm - thin for ultimate feedback form your controls yet more abrasion resistant than cowhide. Critical impact areas were treated to reinforcements of Pittard's Keratan - a flexible yet significantly enhanced abrasion resistant goatskin. The backhand is constructed from Icon's Battlehide goatskin - forming a tough yet lightweight barrier against asphalt incursion. A full compliment of injection molded armor plating provides additional defensive measures. Great Specs, Poor Execution
Purchased these gloves based on the materials and feedback of other users. $155 is a lot to ask for these. The materials are top grade but the quality of manufacturing is missing. Stitching was very poor.. Lots of hanging threads. Some of the internal stitching on the small and pointer fingers was very uncomfortable. The roo palm was nice, and the gloves allowed for very free movement. Judging by appearance alone I would not expect these to last more then a season. These just don't belong in the $155.price bracket and I don't think I would recommend them at any price point. I ended up returning them and going with the Cortech Latigo's instead. Half the price and twice the quality!

At $150 price point this product has great comfort and protection
The icon overlord long glove is a great glove for two season riding. The perforation allows good airflow throughout the glove for the two season riding. I purchased this glove because it has great protection for a full gauntlet. Personally I like the design of how it looks and overall it's very comfortable.

Kevlar Stitching and Velcro Strap Issues
ALCON,
I've owned these gloves for one riding season in Germany which equates to roughly 7 months at best. My Icon overlord kevlar stitching is coming apart in roughly 5 seperate areas at the webbing of the fingers, 2 of which have gaping, 1/2 holes that are spreading each day. Bear in mind, I'm not a leather repair specialist and I do not have ready access to kevlar thread. Additionally, the large velcro strap that secures the gauntlet style glove around your wrist has self destructed from day one, and one glove has disconnected, revealing nothing more than shredded velcro.
If you're contemplating buying this "high quality" item, then look elsewhere and save yourself from buying a new pair of $155 gloves every season!

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
I got these gloves because i need a track set for this coming season, so i haven't had a chance to test them out yet but i have taken them out on a few street rides so i have a good general impression so far.
Pros:
Great air flow for sure. I was riding in cold weather and these filter in air so well that they are colder than my single layered Thor cloth gloves.
Solid construction and great protection. No seams loose anywhere and no visible defects anywhere.
Great looking gloves, i got complimented on the first ride on their look by a passer-by.
Overall a very comfortable glove with lots of adjustment.
Cons:
The great air flow does not make this a cold weather glove at all. Riding in 45F+ weather only.
The kangaroo leather, while very smooth and comfortable, also gets dirty very quickly. I don't think i can pass a season without that yellow color becoming gray or black from all the dirt it absorbs so far.
The wrist adjuster is a double edged sword: if you want the glove to be snug in the wrist, it will cut off a bit of circulation to the bottom palm, but if you want the full circulation across your hand, you have to leave a bit of slack on the wrist strap which almost makes it useless in that configuration. I want my circulation, so i keep it a bit loose but the glove doesn't slide off in any way up to this point so I'll have to see if i need to change that on track days.
Overall, a great glove for the money which i will keep buying if this one tears or gets damaged. Best mid-range gauntlet I've tried on so far: definitely recommend it.

Great gloves for the money but i had a few threads coming loose on mine. other then that they were pretty good gloves

Worth it
These gloves are great! Very protective; the leather feels thin but kangaroo leather should hold. Lots of armor that's not carbon fiber but a similar dark-grey polymer matrix. Precurved, and the yellow Kevlar stitching looks great against the blue of the gloves.
These gloves flow a TON of air. This is excellent in the Mojave Desert's 105F days, not so much on its 40F nights. I wear 2XLs which are a little bit large, but that's okay; I can fit a glove liner from snowboarding gloves under.
Overall they look sick, will protect you (have not crash-tested yet) and will keep you cool.

Most comfortable glove I've worn.
This glove is very comfortable right out of the box and just gets better as it breaks in. I got the blue and it is a lot darker of a color than pictured but still looks sick.

I'm interested in the Icon Overlord gauntlet gloves, and just need some assistance and guidance on sizing. I have 2 questions.
1. I have measured the circumference of my hand, and it is just on 9". What size do you recommend?
2. I have tried on some other brands of gauntlet, and have found difficulty getting my hand through the wrist opening. If I go up to a size where I can get through the wrist opening, I usually find the gloves are too big. I seem to have a disproportionally wide palm compared to my finger length! Is the wrist opening of the Icon overlord typical, or is it smaller/larger than average? Maybe I'm better off with the short version of the Overlord?

Hey John,I would not recommend the overlords based on the quality / durability of the gloves. But to answer your question, the hand opening on these is smaller then most.
As far as sizing, I like my gloves snug. I typically wear a medium in american cut gloves and found a medium in the icon to fit comfortably and just a little looser then normal.

Acording to Q1: Your'e obviously Large for the Icon Sizing Chart (http://www.revzilla.com/icon-size-chart), but what I said on my Icon Justice Leather Gloves Review, my hand is 8.5" for MD size in the chart, but I've always bought Small with other brands, so I bought Small Icon gloves and they fit very well, not too loose and not too tight. As for the Wrist oppening, I think you need to consider the type of body you have. I'm a 63 Kg. and 1.68 guy. So I find icon gloves to be in the standard wrist oppening. Slightly large, because I need to pull all the velcro around in order tighten the glove. Hope this will help. Cheers!Age: 25-34

the entrance into the gloves is adjustable by a triple velcro strap, as well as an adjustment strap. I think you will be fine with the gauntlets.
