overall design and price Great! Working with Revzila Rawks! Great service and speedy shipping. The Pants with tailoring they will be very nice. too long though. December 25, 2013
The best hot weather pant! Perfect for riding down here in florida , I use the field armor shorts under these and it works perfectly. Cuff is large enough for any boot even a track boot will fit comfortably under these pants. September 9, 2013
Value for the money They fit well and air flow isn't bad. I have been using them over slacks and haven't had any problems. I wear them on my morning commute to work so I haven't have my bike past 30 when wearing them. I get a little air flow, just enough to keep the sweat off my legs. For the price these were exactly what I wanted in a pair of overpants. September 3, 2013
Good frequent commuter pants. Room for improvements though... Got these bad boys during the closeout special for my birthday. Waited a bit to give the best, honest review perspective. Fitment is good on waist. These are true to size on overpants and I do appreciate the ratchet-style fastener and fly zip. Has side pockets, but are not accessible to your jeans. I like it because it doubles as storage capacity. The velco adjustments are a plus for personal tailor fitment too. Fitment is so-so throughout the legs though. Up on topside they are great. Its down past the kneecap is where the pants need improvement. They are very baggy and when you are off the bike, the pants will drag on the floor. As others mentioned, modifications such as sinching, removing material, sewing, etc. will take care of this. The knee armor is in my opinion a little too big, flimsy and can move out of place even when on the bike. I felt it was shin armor, and other times it was thigh armor so I'm not too confident in trusting this if I had a getoff accident. Functionality is great. Airflow is good even with thick jeans on. You can have boots on and still easily get the pants on and off without having to remove your boots. Overall, at this price point, these are good pants. For the protective conscience, I'd remove the knee armor and go with separate stand alone knee protection. Buy if...you want daily commuter pants, need basic upgrade in protection, hotter temperature is an issue, like urban-casual-looser fitting, and/or price sensitive. Hesitate if...you want a sportier/race look, want high impact protection. Let's hope the Hooligan 3 overpants will be an overall better product in the future. I'd buy version 2 all over again though! Good product buy still deeds modification. I made a trip from Minnesota to Oregon, down to Nevada, and back to Minnesota, 5200 miles.. I rode through a lot of heat, 102 in Nevada, and I found that by wearing these pants I did stay cooler, while riding anyway, as opposed to just having jeans on. They kept the sun off and allowed lots of air flow to my legs. The cuffs are huge and will drag on the ground if not take up a bit. You can see how big the cuffs are in the product pic. I had my wife take in about three to four inches on the cuff, folding the material so the snap can still be used, to tighten them up and avoid dragging on the ground or getting hooked on the kick stand pegs, etc... This completely solved the problem and I can still easily get them on and off with my alpine stars boots on. Good product and I'm glad to have the extra protection in the knees but I don't know why they did not put in hip protection. Would be nice! The fit is good in the waist and has plenty of adjustment. The legs are baggy and I think could be slimmed down. August 5, 2013
Great bang for the buck As usual with Revzilla, the purchase was painless and fast and the representation of the product, including how to size it, was spot on. I wanted an inexpensive, lightweight pair of overpants for hot summer days and these fill the bill. The velcroed belt works well to hold a Leatherman (Brit bikes, ahem,) and adjusts easily and properly. If I have a negative comment, the bottom of the trouser leg could be a bit tighter, but overall, you can't do better at this price point. July 22, 2013
Like Them So Far... Never had overpants before so tough to compare them to others.... However, I will say that they are pretty baggy. They do have different pockets inside the pant to move the knee armor up or down to better suit your size though. I had to move mine all the way to the top pocket to cover my knee, which I feel could cover it more fully had I opted for a slightly smaller size when ordering. They do flow air very well being mesh and all and is a great compliment to my Hooligan 2 Mesh Jacket and Twenty-Niner Gloves. I wear these over my slacks/dress pants on my 26 mile commute and when I get to my destination I feel cool and not sweaty since they flow air so well You won't be putting these on with boots or even shoes on, you will have to remove whatever is on your feet to get these on and off, despite being baggy they just don't have much space to work with at the end of the pants leg or any kind of zipper there to open it up more on the bottom to do so. Good, however knee armour adjustment is lacking This product is good. As an overpant it works, as a stand alone it works. The only complaint I have with it is the lack of options for knee armour placement. Had I ordered a size smaller than I did I feel the knee pads would be perfect, however they would have been slightly too slim for my legs to use as an overpant if I had done that. I'm a 6'0" guy who works out obsessively, so take that into consideration when reading this. My thighs are slightly thicker than the average 6'0" mans. July 8, 2013

A shopper asked: ICON MESH OVERLORD PANTS VS ICON OVERLORD TEXILE PANTS
WILL THE TEXILE BE TO HOT FOR SUMMER ?
WILL THE MESH HAVE THE SAME LEVEL OF PROTECTION AS THE TEXILE ?

Mike22: I own the mesh pants so I cannot comment directly on how hot the textiles are, however I do own other textile riding pants and you will find that nylon just doesn't breathe or let any air in. I understand the textile pants have some lighter panels for venting, but you will probably sweat a bit in them during really hot weather as textile panels won't flow much, if air through them.

Also depends on where you will wear them - just on the bike or if you plan to be walking around in them a fair bit. From experience, standing and walking around in textile pants on a hot day is terrible. On a bike though, enough air should get through the panels to make it bearable.

Regarding the protection - inevitably, you do sacrifice some protection when choosing mesh over textile, however it really depends on their intended use. If you are just using them for commuting around and wont be hitting anything over 60 most of the time, they should hold up quite well. I trust that ICON doesn't produce rubbish so I feel fine getting around in the mesh pants with shorts underneath at lower speeds.

Chris K: It is definitely a trade-off. The Mesh will be a good deal cooler, but the Textile offer better abrasion resistance. Aug 17, 2011
