Above Average
I bought these after trying them on at a shop. I'm ~150 pounds, 6 foot, and pretty thin. The S/M seems to fit quite well, I don't know why people are saying that the L/XL ones would be tight, these seem fine.

There is a velcro strap that circles above the elbow, and if you strap it TIGHT, it obviously hurts... so don't do that!

There is a third piece that articulates above your elbow, but the bolts are plastic. Wish they were metal. Otherwise, satisfied. Will see how it wears over time.

On The Fence
Was very tough to decide whether or not to recommend these elbow guards. I bought them to go along with the Icon Stryker vest (which I love).

First problem is the material that your arms slip into. I've worn these for maybe a dozen shorter rides (<1 hour) and the elastic material is already starting to fray here and there, mostly where the bicep straps meet the material. It's not a terrible problem, but at this cost it shouldn't be happening. Material also feels a little thin. Bicep strap is a little rough on the skin as well.

I also noticed the red inner accent material is slipping around a little, underneath the armor. I can't get in there to adjust it.

Also - these run SMALL. I do not have huge arms, and I had to exchange my first set for a L/XL, due to circulation getting cut off in my hands... not good for riding.

None of these issues take away from the protection I feel these guards offer - in that area, these feel like they'll do the job. Hopefully I won't ever have to find out. But I feel these either need to be improved, or the price should be 1/3 less than it is.

So - feels like great protection, but there are comfort and finish issues that knock these down a few notches.

Very nice, just not for me
You'll notice many reviews complaining about how small these are... They do run small, but against the skin they should fit most people. My problem was that if I had to wear them against my skin I would have to either stretch out whatever long sleeve tee I was wearing or not wear one at all. They do look good and they offer awesome protection. Just not for me.

great just simply great
These elbow gaurds are great for when its really warm. The air flow is great and then fit is good granted the do run a little small but the elastic will stretch after some time to get a better fit. I know they have been out of the larges for awhile but try the small/med out and if you dont like them then yes the restock tor free. Also i work the sm/med with a hoodie under them and they felt fine. My forearms are 12in around so if that gives you an idea of the fit. Be careful with the way you pull them up to strap them on as well because the movable part is only held on by 2 small push snap pins.

Great fit, strong, durable.
Its everything I was hoping for. Fits great, and inspires confidence. I gladly ride in the heat without my jacket, coupled with the chest/ back protector piece.

Don't ride without them
I got these along with the Stryker Vest and couldn't be happier with both. I don't use my jacket during the summer, only in the spring/fall and these + the vest do the job. I haven't been off yet (I have been off with my jacket and walked away), but I feel like these would do the job. Speaking of the vest, the only thing I wish it had was more shoulder protection and more gut protection. If you slide on your back, you'll be fine. If you slide on your stomach, you're going to have problems.

Anyway, back to the elbow guards. I have large arms and I have the L/XL size and I don't think they are that tight. Be careful putting it on though as pulling on the guard will pop off the plastic pins that keep it together. I lost some of mine, but I used tiny thin zip ties to mend them and they are more than fine.

As others have stated, the material starts to fray a bit after the velcro gets done with it...I've had mine for 2 years and it doesn't look that terrible yet.

The Stryker series is a must buy for summer riders.
Alright these elbow guards are amazing I would be in a different world of hurt right now had I not been wearing them. The elbow guards held up very well the icon logo is scraped off and dis-colored but they are still wearable and I will still use them. They are great for summer and usable in the hottest temperatures, it is slightly uncomfortable and limits range of motion but you must remember it's not if its when.

Icon continues to be awesome!
Fortunately, I haven't had an incidents to actually test these out, but they are comfortable and definitely help out on days that it's just too hot to wear a jacket. The guards are comfortable on bare skin as they are on top of a long sleeved shirt. I believe someone mentioned this earlier, but the material of the sleeve gets messed up a little by the velcro, but so far hasn't been a problem.

Fits under anything
These are well articulated and protective while highly breathable. I worry about the integrity of some of the rivets, but for the last 7 months those fears have been unfounded. I do hate how the Velcro frizzes up the straps though (store with Velcro closed!).

I have the Leatt Adventure body protector, which I really like - but the padding in the elbows doesn't stay in place well. So I wanted to try these, since you can zip the elbows off the Leatt. I've been using them for several months now, and really like them.

Does the Icon Field Armor Stryker Elbow Guard come in “Black/Green”? The reason I ask is because I’d like to purchase the Icon Stryker Black/Green Vest with matching Elbow Guards. The Black/Green Vest just looks odd to me with Black/Red Elbow Guards. [Also Black/Black Elbow Guards would work as well]. Thank you.

Rider is 5'9'' 180-190lbs, large and medium shirt size, what size do you recommend s/md or l/xl ?
A shopper on Jan 4, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Depends on your forearms the most, I think. If you've got huge biceps (muscle or fat) then you should be able to adjust the velcro strap so that it's comfortable. That strap is quite long and can be cut to length. Otherwise, if your forearms are thick, then the spandex straps will be comfortably tight, if not then they will be comfortably slightly less-tight. I'm 6', ~150 pounds, and I'm obviously thin. The small/medium fit me well. I think it should do for you, but it's a question of the size of the shell rather than the adjustability, as it can be changed a fair bit.
how do you measure of elbow guard? went to the sizing link but there was nothing there as far as I could see for this measurement.

do i get one elbow armor for 80 dollars or does this come as a pair or two left or right arm ?
A shopper on Feb 20, 2012
BEST ANSWER: This comes as a pair, they should come in a smooth-finish Icon box with graphics on it.
