Icon D30 Replacement Elbow Pads

An advanced, patented polymer, CE-rated D3O® impact protectors are the latest advancement in protective armor. D3O® impact protectors utilize intelligent molecules that lock together on impact. Because of this, the impact protector can be made thinner and lighter, making a jacket more comfortable and easier to wear. However, this decreased size does not come at the expense of impact protection.

Will fit any ICON Jacket that was originally equipped with ICON Field Armor Elbow Pads.

Sold as a pair.

Very comfortable armor in RSD Ronin
I switched from the RSD armor to this D3O for the comfort and less bulk. The elbow armor sits a bit high in the Ronin armor pocket, but so did the RSD armor. It's far more flexbile and soft than the RSD armor and therefore more comfortable. I barely notice there's armor in actually. Haven't had any experience with its crash protection and hopefully never will.

Fits my Olympia Jacket perfectly
I replaced the much bulkier armor in my Olympia AST jacket with these pads. They're much slimmer and more comfortable, and almost exactly the same size and shape. Money well spent.

I can't comment on the protection or durability, and hopefully won't ever be able to comment on the protection.

Good addition to unarmored Vanson jacket
I have a Vanson Night Velociraptor that I bought used. It did not come with armor, and the Vanson armor available is bulky and expensive. I figured I could put a couple pieces of adhesive backed velcro onto the D3O armor and stuff them in the jacket, securing them to the velcro already inside. I was sort of right.

The D3O armor is a bit slick, and the adhesive backed velcro just slid right off. Cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) worked, however, and it worked. The armor is a good fit for the jacket and adds very little bulk. As most have said, you can hardly feel it. I use this jacket on the street and not the track, so it's a bit of a compromise, but it should still protect very well.

Great inexpensive flexible protection
I've purchased a couple sets of the Icon D3O armor for non-Icon jackets. It's thin and flexible, but hardens when hit to spread out the impact load.

I did find that it was a little bulky in the sleeves of a Roland Sands Barfly jacket, but the leather has since stretched to accommodate it.

Protip: This armor provides excellent protection when giving someone The People's Elbow for making fun of your bike. Can you smell that the Rock's bike is running rich?

Love this armor!
I originally ordered this armor to replace the utterly awful armor in a Jaunt T2 (my opinion; yours may be different). It made a huge difference. Well, long story short, I ended up parting with the Jaunt altogether and put the D3O armor in my Rev'It Airwave jacket. In all fairness the armor in the Airwave was excellent to begin with, but the combination of the jacket and the D3O armor makes it the most comfortable jacket I own. The D3O armor is unobtrusive, light, and all around comfortable. I hope to never need it, but believe it will do its job if ever called upon.

Excellent upgrades to standard protection.
I decided to upgrade all of the armor in my Scorpion Helix jacket. I ordered the elbow, shoulder, and back protectors. The are so comfortable and the jacket fits better and makes me feel safer. I trust D3o armor more than the standard protection in the jacket.

With these pads work well in Roland Sands jackes?
CHARLES R on Feb 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes they will fit in RSD jackets, I put the set into a Tracker jacket, just had to trim the back pad a little.
Could you use this on top of another armor? Would that make the jacket too bulky?
A shopper on Dec 17, 2013
BEST ANSWER: It probably would be too bulky. I'm not sure why you would want to do this? It sounds like wearing two condoms... It could cause your existing armor to slide out of place.

I have this armor in my Roland Sands Rocker jacket. I high sided my street triple going straight (not turning) through an intersection at about 60 mph or so (hit a bunch of bright green spilled coolant). My gear kept me out of the hospital with no injuries. This armor meets the same CE ratings as any other armor. Can confirm it works well. It is about a centimeter thick for those wondering, and fits all my Roland Sands jackets (mission, rocker, ronin)
Are these elbow pads better than the ones that come with the Icon Overlord Textile Jacket?
Isaias on Aug 26, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Isaias,
I don't have the Icon Overlord Jacket so I can't tell you if they are better than the OEM pads. I did put them in a Firstgear leather jacket and they are much better than the originals.
will these fit in an Icon Women's Merc jacket?
A shopper on Feb 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, I do not know if they will fit a woman's size jacket. I will say only this.... I recommend these products to wear. I bought the shoulder, elbow, and back pads for my second light weight "Joe Rocket" mesh jacket. I can testify to their ability to keep its wearer in one piece. I had a van make a right turn in front of my bike from the left lane into a Mc Donald's driveway. Thank God for ABS braking on my Goldwing. I flew off the bike and crushed this kids van with my helmet and left shoulder. I left a 3' X 2' giant dent in the right side of the van..... These pads work. I didn't feel a thing !!! If you can buy them for all locations in a jacket, DO IT... I swear just knowing I wear them 100% of the time is worth every penny.
"Keep the rubber side down"
What are the measurements of this armor?
A shopper on Jun 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The listed measurements are from the D30 site and match the product. These elbow pads sold by Icon are D30 T5 Evo XT pads. The molded markings on the backside are " EN1621-1" protection level and "TYPE A" for coverage.
Want to Update pads in First Gear Kilimanjaro jacket, are there different sizes depending on jacket size? I also want to purchase knee pads for three pairs of riding pants. Are the knee pads the same as elbow pads?
A shopper on May 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is only one size for elbow, shoulder, and knee pads. The back pad has a smaller size for women since our jackets tend to be smaller. The pads are just about universal accross the Icon line so depending on how similar Icon and First Gear are in build, they may fit but I can't say for sure, I've never tried First Gear.
The knee pads are knee pads, they're wider than the elbows. They all look exactly like the photos.
will this fit icon contra jacket?
A shopper on Mar 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I swapped mine out along with the shoulder and back pads too.
Would these fit in a women's icon merc jacket?
A shopper on Jan 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Most likely yes. Elbow and shoulder pads tend to be all about the same size. I used these in a Joe Rocket women's jacket. Worst case you can cut them down if they're too big...
I have the Dianese Alien jacket and am looking for more flex and comfort in the arms, will these fit in the armor pockets (or can they be trimmed to fit)?
A shopper on Mar 25, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Dainese elbow/forearm armor is longer than the Icon d3o elbow armor, so the Icon d3o armor will fit the pocket on the Alien jacket, but it will move around slightly.
