Icon Vigilante Dropout Jacket

Rarely does a whispered voice carry over the sound of unbaffled exhausts. If you want to be heard at the track, we suggest you shout. The Icon Vigilante Dropout is just that voice. Chenille embroidered patches, the same style used on letterman jackets, emblazon the chest of the Dropout Jacket. Patched 1000 sleeve graphics are layered into the full-grain leather sleeves. Full D3O impact protectors (elbow, shoulder, back) are included with the jacket, as is the removable insulated SatinCore vest liner.

Features:

  • Herringbone nylon chassis, premium drum-dyed cowhide sleeves
  • Full compliment of D3O impact protectors–shoulder, elbow, back
  • Insulated SatinCore vest liner
  • Chenille embroidered patches
  • Leather trim
  • Snap back collar
  • YKK tactical oxide zippers
  • Custom metal badging
  • Internal zippered and cargo pockets
  • Headphone cable management

First Jacket. Fits Perfect. Looks Super Fly. This is my first armored riding jacket, so my opinion is a bit biased. Came shipped to me really fast, like, I think within a week. Fits perfect. I'm 6'3, and I bought the XL based on the sizing chart. Fits to where it covers my wrist and glove comfortably, which was exactly what I was looking for. The patches look amazing. Plenty of pockets, some that I could place a large gatorade when I'm riding haha. I absolutely recommend this jacket. August 17, 2015
Great 3 Season Jacket I love this jacket, the look is phonomenal. The fit is great and and is comfy for all weather. The leather sleeves with a textile body make this jacket suitable for most weather conditions. For fall you even have a removable liner that makes the jacket very warm. I can't vouch for the protection in this jacket mainly because I haven't fallen with it yet. However it has full armor in the elbows, shoulders, and back so it makes you feel very protected. Sizing can be Tricky First off, this jacket is wonderful. It feels good, the armor sits in the right places, the styling is spot on, and the quality is excellent (so far at least.) I've had this jacket three weeks as of yesterday and these past three weeks have been the hottest days that my fair city has seen this summer. I am a naturally warm person so the fact that I was sweating says little on the jacket. (I sweat in a t-shirt and shorts in the summer) What does speak to this jacket is the fact that it vents pretty darn well. The zips under the arms combined with the front 3/4 zipped has kept me cool in 100°f+ temps. The only reason it does not get full marks is because I feel it could use with venting on the rear. (inside the gussets for the arms would be a great spot to hide the zips) I like the removable liner and armor though the only one I can condone removal of is the liner as the armor is kinda sorta the point of the jacket. Now on to sizing. This is the tricky part. If you are of average build just follow the chart. Be aware however, the chart does not follow generic shirt sizes so take your measurements and follow what the chart says. Don't be vain, the measuring tape won't lie to you. I wear a Large in t-shirts but I needed a Double X in this jacket because I am a broad shouldered guy. My sizing fell right on the XL section of the chart, but the XL did not fit my shoulders. So one size up to an XXL and now everything fits but the sleeves are a tad long when unzipped. To condense that down, follow the chart. If you have wide shoulders, keep in mind that the size listed may not fit right, especially if you do any kind of weight lifting. Keep 'em shiny side up. August 7, 2015
Exudes Kool I have lots of Icon gear and there stuff is famously what it is. If it's a race jacket that's what it is with some extra and style. This jacket is a throw back style from the biker days like when guys would wear a jeans jacket with sleeves cut off and over their leather jacket....but a modern design all in one for that look. I am 6' 3" and 190 and the fit is kind of a skinny jeans feel. Tight sleeves, but soft pliable leather, and no room for sweatshirt under=a fitted feel. The body material is stiff keeping its shape. Medium weather jacket you will wear all the time on and off the bike cuz it's really just an awesome style piece. May 25, 2015
Very nice jacket. This is a nice jacket. It is heavier than I expected. The quality is very good. I like the look and it's comfortable. It can get a little warm on a hot day if not moving, like in any jacket. Front and rear vents would be nice. There is a full zipper vent under each arm which helps a lot. Lots of pockets on the inside. The torso material is fairly thick and stiff, good protection. The removable liner is a vest which I like. Overall it's comfortable and I'd buy it again. May 11, 2015
Great style, odd fit I'll keep this short and straight forward: Pros: • Great style. Looks good on and off the bike. The patches and badging on the sleeves really makes this a standout. • Material and craftsmanship is what you would expect from the Icon 1000 line. Top shelf all the way. • This is not an extreme cold weather jacket but in 30 to 35 degree weather, I was comfortable. Cons: • Sizing is tricky. I ordered a large and it felt fine in the body and shoulders but the sleeves were loose and short. Since there is always variances in leather jackets, I sent the first one back and reordered another in the same size. The new one is too tight around the shoulders and arms but the sleeve length is perfect. • Air flow is minimal which is good for colder days but bad for warmer ones. • The removable lining is clunky. The jacket fits and feels better without it. I'll end with this… I ended up returning both jackets and got another Icon 1000 jacket that was twice as much but fits better all the way around. I really, really liked the Vigilante Dropout for the style and price! The jacket looked awesome with my Rimfire gloves. If you can get the sizing right, I say go for it. January 29, 2015
Nice jacket Pros I really like the look of this jacket and in person it looks just as good. D3O armor Lots of pocket space especially with liner in. I was comfortable riding in 80+ degrees without liner and 50 with liner. Quality seems to be good and typical of icon with my jacket and didn't have issues with loose threads etc... Con's Woven material of the body portion looks and performs great but is quite ridgid and sounds like a heavy paper grocery bag if your moving around in it off the bike. It doesn't bother me much since you can't hear it while riding anyway. Note I generally wear a large in other jackets including other icon (not 1000) and a medium fits perfect. November 10, 2014
Awesome looking jacket that can easily be worn off the bike casually. I purchased this jacket with high expectations from what I had read and seen online. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed at how rigid the midsection of the jacket is. when you sit down, the jacket does not bend much. Also, I am an average sized man and my forearms were squeezed to the point of bad circulation when I first wore the jacket. however, after wearing for a few weeks, it has stretched out to be comfortably snug. even with the negatives, the jacket still looks awesome and is worth having. A shopper asked: I am 5'7" 40-41" chest, 32-33" sleeve. after watching the video I am not sure if I am a medium or small in this jacket. What are your thoughts team? May 26, 2014

Adam M: I'm the same height - 42" chest and same sleeve length. I first ordered the large, and the sleeves were too long (jacket ended in the middle of my palm). It was also a bit baggy. Then I returned that one for the medium. The length on the medium is perfect, but it is a bit snug. This all depends on your preference - if you like your clothes to fit on the tight side, then the medium should be perfect. If you like clothes a bit loose, then try the large first... just don't take any of the tags off before knowing for sure! May 28, 2014

Richard B: I say Medium. I am the same chest, but have 35" arms. The medium was too short in the arms for me. It should fit you perfectly. May 26, 2014

Andre Marlon V: Small, sleeves will be fine. I don't know about your chest but im 5'7" 150, lean athletic build and small fits perfect. May 26, 2014
Aaron C: Go small. I am about the same measurements and am usually a medium. Small fits me perfect. May 27, 2014

A shopper asked: Are the D30 protectors removable ? Aug 10, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Josiah a: Yes sir they are. The inner liner is also removable. Great jacket. Sick design. Very comfortable and it breathes pretty well. Probably not typical for a summer jacket but great for fall and winter even spring. Great purchase and the jacket is built tough. Nothing cheap about it. Aug 11, 2014
