Great riding shoe I wanted a technical riding shoe for weekend rides with the group. These are nearly perfect. Well constructed, good materials, great looking, lightweight, ventilated. My only concern is that the sole is a little thick. Having a large foot, and then adding the thickness of the sole, sometimes makes it difficult to get under the shift lever quickly. Other than that I highly recommend them. April 18, 2014
style, design, comfort and protection It only took a few days to break them in but now I even went hiking with them. They did very well. They look great. I got the oiled brown ones because they look so much better than the black ones. It's a great boot. Lets some air through the lace area but not enough that it gets cold on the colder days. Great boot! I really enjoy them. April 14, 2014
Icon 1000 Truant Boots Icon 1000 Truant Boots I am really impressed with these boots. They have everything I was looking for. A boot I could wear all day and look nice. Well thought out design with good toe, ankle and sole protection. I was so impress with them that I bought a second pair. They are perforated for air circulation. I really like the thick sole which is quite flexible. Foot fatigue is low and they have a broken in fit. I have bought a lot of boots and spent a lot of money looking for a boot like this. They are a bit pricy but having all the features you want in a street boot is worth it. April 10, 2014
Awesome boots! These are nice casual boots that are built well. I bought them mainly cause they have no heel and I like the looks. They seem like they will last quite a while but only time will tell. April 2, 2014
they are very comfortable, and still provide the support you need. They have a great style to them they go good with whatever your wearing. They fit and feel just like your ordinary sneaker but at the same time have very good stability through the ankle and over the toe. Love mine April 1, 2014
Great casual looking riding shoe with protection. This is my first riding shoe so I don't have much to compare it to but so far I like it a lot. I feel protected and since most of my riding is around town in city settings it's nice to have a boot that fits the occasion. I can wear them around and feel like they are normal shoes. I actually like them so much, style wise, I'm tempted to wear them even when I'm not riding. However, I try to keep them strictly for riding so I don't wear them out faster than necessary. I really like the brown ones but keep in mind they will get marked by your shifter. I figured this would happen ahead of time and was okay with it but if it's an issue for you go with black. I did have one issue with the first pair where one of the side rivets popped off. However, Revzilla made the return/exchange painless and Icon honored their warranty with a new replacement. Things happen and both companies handled it great, thanks guys! Definitely would recommend. March 24, 2014
Awesome boots I've had these boots for about 1000 miles now, and I love them. It's hard to tell where the air flow ports are, but they vent really well. They are pretty stiff initially, but after wearing them quite a bit, they are getting broken in and feel more comfortable everytime I wear them. Fit is right on, I think they are worth the money, they look like high top shoes, and I feel that the protection is really good for a street boot. They are maybe a tad narrow, but that is perfect for me, but I'd say I have a pretty average sized foot. All in all, I'd buy another pair if I had to. March 24, 2014
Great shoe I ordered these last week and got them 3 days later so far they are a great product very comfortable the straps are a little hard to buckle the first few times but over all this is a great boot. March 23, 2014

Myles C asked: How water proof/resistant is the boot. Will it hold up well in light rain? Mar 10, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
James S: The boots themselves will be fine if they get wet and the leather seems to repel most drizzle / splashes. However after while they will soak through but no more then your average pair of work boots. The tongue of the boot and the air holes in the side will allow the moisture in eventually. Mar 11, 2014

Dane C: While they don't say waterproof on them, I was pleasantly surprised by how well they did. Got caught in light and heavy rain in a trip from NJ to VT last year and my feet were surprisingly dry. The rest of me however....not so much. Mar 11, 2014

Tristan M: I've ridden them in light rain for about an hour and they held up well. No wetness in my feet at all. Haven't ridden for longer than that so I can't comment beyond that first hour. Mar 11, 2014
Reply to Tristan Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
casey w: That they will. Got caught in a tropical storm last year, and they held up pretty good overall. So no worries about a light rain as long as you have your laces done up snug. Mar 10, 2014

A shopper asked: Is there any ankle protection in this boot? Mar 24, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
LG796: There is some ankle protection. The boot rises just above the large joint that connects your ankle to your foot. There is also reinforced padding at the top of the boot....and the buckle for the strap also adds in extra support and minimal ashpalt abrasion. Not a trackday boot but great for city/twisties! Apr 15, 2013

RevZilla: The Icon 1000 Truant Boots has minimal ankle protection. If you are looking for a boot that offers serious ankle protection, check out some of the Sport/Race Boot Options. These will offer exponentially more protection, especially laterally, when compared to any standard riding shoe or boot. Mar 27, 2013

Matt P: Yes, there is foam padding over the ankle on both sides of each boot. Mar 26, 2013

ooGori03oo: Yes, it is padded. Apr 15, 2013

Jonathan89: I just received them about 3 weeks ago. The boots do cover your ankle and have padding built into it. These will offer much more protection than a regular over the ankle shoe with the same look but your contemporary boots are going to provide more protection than these. I love these for the way they look and they do offer the protection that I need. Apr 6, 2013

Dennis T asked: Hi. The Icon 1000 Truant Boots are they fairly width? I usual buy 45-46 EU size shoo, not sure if I should take a 11,5 or 12. My foot is 12cm width and 30cm long. Hope you can help. Jan 19, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeff R: Hey Dennis, I want to say that my boots fit me really snug. If you're questioning the fit or tightness of these, I might consider a little larger than what you're normally accustomed to purchasing. They were very true to fit. I love em. Jan 23, 2014

A shopper asked: I couldn't find any info on the insole. Is it removable? If I like these enough, I'd like to switch out the insoles with my orthotics, which I need for standing or walking for longer periods of time. Sep 9, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Anthony BStaff: Hey,

This isn't really Anthony, it's his assistant. But since he is off in a meeting and orthodics is a topic I actually know more about than he does, I am going to answer this question. The insole is removable and the sole of the boot is flat, so perfect for orthodics. However, the heel is somewhat narrow so if you have custom orthodics they may be a bit wider than the boot - store bought supports would definitely fit.

Hope that helps!

john h: the insole is spot glued in but it is the same type of insole you find on a work boot,so if you wanted to it would come out easy. Sep 18, 2013

A shopper asked: Short rider here wondering if the soles add some height Apr 22, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The sole thickness is approximately 1 inch, so they'll add 1 inch of height. Apr 30, 2013
Reply to RevZilla Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
hish911: I'm a little taller than 5'7" with these boots I'm noticeably taller, i would say around 5'8"-9". They help add some confidence when handling a bike at stops; however, don't expect to go from being on your tiptoes to being completely flat footed. Apr 26, 2013

LAVDoc: This shoe will not add any height it has a low flat sole. Apr 30, 2013

A shopper asked: I have flat feet do shoes come in wide width, if not do you carry any boots/shoes in wide width? Jan 21, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
jason j: I don't know if they offer wide widths, but my feet are on the wide side and I can fit into these. When new they are pretty stiff and will require some breaking in. I do like the boots a lot, however. They seem like they'd offer good protection in a get off and they look good, too. Jan 23, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
LG796: I also wear a size 11. I like a little wiggle room so I ordered an 11.5, fits exactly how I expected. Icon focalizes on shoes so I wouldn't worry too much on their sizing. They fit and feel great. Apr 15, 2013
Reply to LG796 Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
WhiteNeko: I wear size USA 10.5 sneakers and ordered size 10.5 truant and fits perfectly. Icon made this boot for USA size. Since you wear a USA 11, a size 11 should fit perfectly. May 27, 2013

Matt P: True fit as far as I'm concerned. Maybe a hair on the larger end, but not enough to justify going down a size. Mar 26, 2013

Antonio N asked: I've been wanting to get these for a while now but they never have my size. Would it be okay to get a 1/2 bigger? Oct 18, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Don B: They are already run a little large. I would say that the size 11 I purchased feels like an 11.5 plus some. To me I look a little goofy with the larger size but I am to old to care I guess. Will say this, people comment on them frequently. Oct 24, 2013
Reply to Don Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Michael M: I wouldn't. Keep these shoes at your size (especially if you feet don't grow) is what you want. In my opinion my motorcycle boots should fit like a glove with no slop. Got my shoe size and it fits like a glove. Its my favorite footwear. Oct 18, 2013
