1000 Truant Actually more comfortable than you would expect. They provide very good foot and ankle protection. I like the strap that holds the laces down, but wish it was a little easier to buckle. I ride a 2000 Kawasaki ZRX1100 and is a little tight to make comfortable shifts, but that is just the way I have the shifter set. Different look is good. Thanks September 8, 2014
comfortable and best looking Was looking for something that looked good but subtle and wasn't a full boot. These shoes fit the bill. High price, but you get what you pay for. Comfy and offer good protection. Wearing a little on the left toe from shifting but nothing crazy. Would buy again July 9, 2014
Great investment!! My boyfriend loves these boots and he needs a new pair so I decided to check the prices on your site and surprise him with a new pair. June 26, 2014
Best Money I've ever Spent If you're hesitating because of the price of these let me just say it: YES THEY ARE WORTH IT. These boots are absolutely excellent. It's going to be hard to see how ICON can do much better than these. First off, they fit true to size. Order you're normal shoe size. The styling is just excellent. They look great on the bike or off the bike and no one can even tell they're bike boots. Protection is great. Sturdy toe box, nice ankle support and grippy soles. I cannot say anything bad about these. BUY THEM NOW May 31, 2014
Expensive but Worth it I like these shoes a lot. Rode an hour, stood around on a hot gun range for 4.5 hours in them and then rode an hour home. No issues, no discomfort. Took sneakers with me but never changed into them, wasn't necessary. Very cool while riding, my other boots were too hot. Go for the brown ones, you won't be disappointed. May 26, 2014
this product is a good boot with a bit of everything as stated. The truant boot is more boot than shoe, although that's probably the point. The ankle support extends higher than my redwings and has considerably more protection. I bought the boot in a 13 which is slightly big, but I believe its true to the size chart. The quality is exceptional so far. The leather is top end and the design is pretty slick. The soles are thicker than I would've expected. This takes some getting used to. In the end this boot was comfortable right out of the box. Certainly getting what you paid for. April 25, 2014
Great riding shoe I wanted a technical riding shoe for weekend rides with the group. These are nearly perfect. Well constructed, good materials, great looking, lightweight, ventilated. My only concern is that the sole is a little thick. Having a large foot, and then adding the thickness of the sole, sometimes makes it difficult to get under the shift lever quickly. Other than that I highly recommend them. April 18, 2014
style, design, comfort and protection It only took a few days to break them in but now I even went hiking with them. They did very well. They look great. I got the oiled brown ones because they look so much better than the black ones. It's a great boot. Lets some air through the lace area but not enough that it gets cold on the colder days. Great boot! I really enjoy them. April 14, 2014

A shopper asked: I couldn't find any info on the insole. Is it removable? If I like these enough, I'd like to switch out the insoles with my orthotics, which I need for standing or walking for longer periods of time. Sep 9, 2013

Anthony BStaff: Hey,

This isn't really Anthony, it's his assistant. But since he is off in a meeting and orthodics is a topic I actually know more about than he does, I am going to answer this question. The insole is removable and the sole of the boot is flat, so perfect for orthodics. However, the heel is somewhat narrow so if you have custom orthodics they may be a bit wider than the boot - store bought supports would definitely fit.

Hope that helps!

Myles C asked: How water proof/resistant is the boot. Will it hold up well in light rain? Mar 10, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
James S: The boots themselves will be fine if they get wet and the leather seems to repel most drizzle / splashes. However after while they will soak through but no more then your average pair of work boots. The tongue of the boot and the air holes in the side will allow the moisture in eventually. Mar 11, 2014
Reply to James Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Dane C: While they don't say waterproof on them, I was pleasantly surprised by how well they did. Got caught in light and heavy rain in a trip from NJ to VT last year and my feet were surprisingly dry. The rest of me however....not so much. Mar 11, 2014

Tristan M: I've ridden them in light rain for about an hour and they held up well. No wetness in my feet at all. Haven't ridden for longer than that so I can't comment beyond that first hour. Mar 11, 2014

casey w: That they will. Got caught in a tropical storm last year, and they held up pretty good overall. So no worries about a light rain as long as you have your laces done up snug. Mar 10, 2014

A shopper asked: Is there any ankle protection in this boot? Mar 24, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
LG796: There is some ankle protection. The boot rises just above the large joint that connects your ankle to your foot. There is also reinforced padding at the top of the boot....and the buckle for the strap also adds in extra support and minimal ashpalt abrasion. Not a trackday boot but great for city/twisties! Apr 15, 2013

RevZilla: The Icon 1000 Truant Boots has minimal ankle protection. If you are looking for a boot that offers serious ankle protection, check out some of the Sport/Race Boot Options. These will offer exponentially more protection, especially laterally, when compared to any standard riding shoe or boot. Mar 27, 2013

Matt P: Yes, there is foam padding over the ankle on both sides of each boot. Mar 26, 2013

Jonathan89: I just received them about 3 weeks ago. The boots do cover your ankle and have padding built into it. These will offer much more protection than a regular over the ankle shoe with the same look but your contemporary boots are going to provide more protection than these. I love these for the way they look and they do offer the protection that I need. Apr 6, 2013

Jeff R: Hey Dennis, I want to say that my boots fit me really snug. If you're questioning the fit or tightness of these, I might consider a little larger than what you're normally accustomed to purchasing. They were very true to fit. I love em. Jan 23, 2014

RevZilla: The sole thickness is approximately 1 inch, so they'll add 1 inch of height. Apr 30, 2013

hish911: I'm a little taller than 5'7" with these boots I'm noticeably taller, i would say around 5'8"-9". They help add some confidence when handling a bike at stops; however, don't expect to go from being on your tiptoes to being completely flat footed. Apr 26, 2013

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
jason j: I don't know if they offer wide widths, but my feet are on the wide side and I can fit into these. When new they are pretty stiff and will require some breaking in. I do like the boots a lot, however. They seem like they'd offer good protection in a get off and they look good, too. Jan 23, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
LG796: I also wear a size 11. I like a little wiggle room so I ordered an 11.5, fits exactly how I expected. Icon focalizes on shoes so I wouldn't worry too much on their sizing. They fit and feel great. Apr 15, 2013

WhiteNeko: I wear size USA 10.5 sneakers and ordered size 10.5 truant and fits perfectly. Icon made this boot for USA size. Since you wear a USA 11, a size 11 should fit perfectly. May 27, 2013

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Don B: They are already run a little large. I would say that the size 11 I purchased feels like an 11.5 plus some. To me I look a little goofy with the larger size but I am to old to care I guess. Will say this, people comment on them frequently. Oct 24, 2013

Michael M: I wouldn't. Keep these shoes at your size (especially if you feet don't grow) is what you want. In my opinion my motorcycle boots should fit like a glove with no slop. Got my shoe size and it fits like a glove. Its my favorite footwear. Oct 18, 2013

Clinton T asked: Just wondering the fit of this shoe, it's not available in Australia so I want to make sure it fits true to size before purchasing this item. I where a size 12 and have pretty wide feet (flat footed as well), I am wondering if this shoe is suitable for my feet and if i should go up a size or not? Also, I wear a US size 12 Asics Onitsuka Tigers Mexico-66 if that helps at all. Thanks May 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeff R: Clinton,

I wear a size 11, and I found these boots to be a very good fit. I don't feel restricted or suffocated while wearing them. I would think that these would fit you with no problem.

In terms of flat footed-ness. These are very flat, and very firm, especially near the foot to toe joints. This makes them great for riding, and durability. I'm not sure if the flatness of these shoes would be problematic for you, but they are very flat. I find them comfortable enough, that I wear them all day when I ride into work. No problems.

Ujian G asked: Do these shoes run a little wide at all? My feet consist of a 1/2 size and are wide, so I am wondering if I should order a size up by 1/2 (10 1/2 - 11) or a full size (10 1/2 - 11 1/2). Aug 7, 2013
