Answer: 
The entire helmet liner is removable if you would like to wash it, or allow it to dry after a long day. It can then be reinstalled, and is fastened with velcro and non-obtrusive snaps. Since this is a Half Helmet, no protection comes down onto the cheeks, so there are no cheekpads.
