Bought for carrying around as a loaner for passengers. No complains after several riders. The pull down shield is nice for novice riders and the experienced ones. One novice rider commented about freeway noise. So, offering ear plugs to guest on freeway glides is recommenced.

We're pretty happy with HJC products overall. Nice looking helmets, excellent finish, the lining is very comfortable and we LOVE the built in shield and sunshade on our IS-33s and the eye shield on our IS-2s. Revzilla service is excellent. Will use Revzilla for our riding needs whenever possible.

Seems like the design was to try to keep this as low a profile as possible while still offering adequate protection. As such, there is ample thickness in the crushable foam liner but the comfort liner was very thin allowing you to feel the harder foam underneath it. I ended up exchanging it for a larger size. The great feature is the retractable sun shield that offers protection for those who forget their shatter resistant sung glasses or google or have glass corrective lenses. Mine did come with a scratch on the inside of the sun shield. I called HJC and they referred me back to revzilla saying they don't stock any parts. Really? Where would revzilla get them from if not the manufacturer? Revzilla has been A1 in trying to get my issues resolved but not sure I can recommend HJC. Love my Symax 2 but not sure I can stand by a company that doesn't stand by their product. Other than that, I would have given it a higher rating and would have had no reservations on recommending this helmet.

Bought the lid new from the bike dealer. Two weeks later it was missing a small black plastic visor screw and now the emblem holding the visor on is missing. Dealer had spare screws as a replacement (free of charge) but has to order the replacement emblem. - $5.00. It's been three weeks and still no replacement part. (on order)
HJC says i need a large based on my hat size. Large is really snug and took quite some time to get used to the fit.
The lid seems noisy but it is probably just me as I am used to a full face helmet.
It's nice having the visor on a shorty.
