HeldWhile most gloves sold in the US are offered in alpha sizes (Small, Medium, Large, etc), Held gloves are sold in numeric glove sizes. The most accurate way to choose a glove size is to measure your hands using the directions and charts below. To get an idea of what Held Glove sizes correspond to in typical american gloves, a conversion guide is included below just to get you started in the right direction.

Held Size Estimated Men's Size
6 – 6 1/2 XS
7 – 7 1/2 SM
8 – 8 1/2 MD
9 – 9 1/2 LG
10 XL
11 2XL
12 3XL

Steps to Measure For Held Gloves

  • Use a flexible measuring tape to measure your hand in inches.
  • Measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
  • Take an accurate, snug measurement.
  • Measure both hands and use the largest measurement.
  • Compare your measurement to the size charts below

Held Sizing Guide

Held Glove Fitment Tips

Held gloves should fit snugly when new. They will stretch out during break in and form to fit your hand.

If you have long fingers, but a relatively narrow palm you should order a size up as the size chart does not account for finger length.

Please note, if your hand measures toward the upper limit of the size measurements, the gloves will fit very snugly. If you prefer that your gloves do not fit so snugly, you may want to select the next size larger. Held kangaroo gloves are a very precise fit. Because Held gloves are such a fitted glove, many people enjoy the snug fit. This is actually very comfortable, with few wrinkles and little crumpling in the palm area.

A properly fitted Held will "fit you like a glove".

Held EVO Thrux Gloves 4.4 5 36 36
great gloves These gloves are very well made and appear durable and very protective. They are also very nice looking (black). July 6, 2015
Does it all for a fair price I have owned the gloves since April 2015. Right out of the bag I was impressed with the quality of materials and overall craftsmanship. The gloves took about 1,000 miles to break in as they were tight in the thumb area. For my hand all the fingers were cut very well. The gloves also survived a small low side at about 35 mph with no damage to my hand or wrist and the gloves are completely fine as well which is very confidence inspiring. Overall, if you're looking for a high quality glove with great control feel, good air flow, and a glove-like fit this should be a set to consider. The kangaroo leather is not just hype, it truly makes a difference. July 6, 2015
Poor Fit I have been wearing Held gloves for over 20 years because of the great fit and high quality seams in the fingertips. The EVO Thrux has left me disappointed. I have always bought size 10 XL with great fit. These were way too big in the fingers with overhang in the finger seams. I ordered another pair in size 9L. Very tight across the palm and still too big in some fingers. I have slightly bigger than average hands, and the fit of these is surprisingly bad. Especially in the fingertip area. June 1, 2015
Pricey, but worth it These are the first gauntlets I've ever purchased and I am very satisfied for what they do for me. Great protection over every section they cover. I've taken a few spills dirt riding and my hands and wrist are fine. They breath pretty well, I never notice my hands getting sweaty. Dual straps make these feels like they have become a part of you. As they break in I know they'll get even better April 14, 2015
Good Glove, Odd Fit BLUF: Great glove that looks great...but unless this think is designed to accommodate for someones crack pinky nail, then I don't understand the fit. That's the only place that has any fitment issues though, everything else is fine and even for someone like me who has two different sized hands (7 and 8 - I order the 8) they fit well on both hands with a little bunching as expected on the smaller hand. April 2, 2015
Great Gloves. I don't get reviews where people complain about the sizes. Either they fit you or they don't, send them back if they don't. Other people have different hands, so what? They are a bit tight compared to other size 10 gloves I have, but as they are leather they will stretch and adjust over time. They are very comfortable for me right out of the box. Regarding seams: they have seams on the outside, not the inside, so I'm surprised somebody mentioning seems being an issue, there is no issue at all here. The super fabric protection pads take some time getting used to, but I knew this from the Held Agadir I have as well. Overall, these are very good gloves, I would buy exactly the same again if I lost/damaged mine. The price in the US is high though compared to Europe. The same glove is 90EUR before tax in Germany, so the US get some pretty high pricing unfortunately. March 30, 2015
Great gloves with minor complaints After imitating a wiper blade with my left hand for a few seconds I could see a bit clearer in the middle of my visor during rainfall, but not much, leading to the clear vision index finger attachment not being all that useful. The measurements used to build the pinky finger portions of the gloves are going to be long for the majority of people. My pinky finger fits inside the glove well, but theres almost a half inch gap at the end on both hands. Aside from the above two issues, these are outstanding gloves with great protection. I would highly recommend checking them out when looking for your next pair of 3-season gauntlets. January 10, 2015
Good quality, odd fitment Based on the video review I ordered a large, which is what I normally wear in other gloves. I find it quite difficult to fit my hand through the wrist area when taking the gloves on and off, and the problem is even more pronounced once my hands get hot/sweaty after riding. I would have tried a larger size, but the width of the glove is fine once my hand makes it through the tight wrist opening and I wouldn't want the fingers to be any longer. This leads me to another point about the odd fitment of these gloves. The finger length is almost perfect, except the thumb length which seems to be made for people with thumbs almost as long as their index finger. So in summary, if you have narrow hands with long thumbs these should fit well. The quality seems to be quite good so far. My favorite feature is that the straps for the cuff and wrist both attach at the top so you don't have to mess with moving a flap out of the way on the inside of your wrist like many gauntlets. The visor wipe seems to be of little use. Overall these are good gloves, but the search for a pair of gloves that fit as well as my first generation Cortech Adrenalines continues. January 3, 2015

Philip A: Good protection and feel for a commuter in a hostile driving environment who wants to do the twisties from time to time. Aug 10, 2015
Dave A W: This glove has great reviews. The protection offered is second to none. My hands are very important so I refuse to take chances and cut corners on quality. Aug 3, 2015
callan k: Great protection for the price. The added benefit is that it matches my Dainese super speed textile jacket perfectly! Held gloves usually also fit me well. Aug 3, 2015
Joe A: Excellent quality gloves Jul 16, 2015
Dave C: I have other Held gloves and this is a replacement for summer gloves. Jun 20, 2015
M R: Needed new gloves and these looked better than alpine* gp plus. Looked less clunky and reviews on other websites said they were better. We shall see.... May 25, 2015
Mark N: need some proper gloves Apr 29, 2015
Anthony N: From what I can see online it has a sleek look and slim profile (not bulky like some other gloves). I like the colors, the vents are a plus for me and the 'super fabric' seems interesting. Hopefully it all works out. Apr 20, 2015
Kevin T: Safety, fit, and appearance Apr 20, 2015
Gregory N: Ive had these gloves for 2 seasons now, I got these as my first gloves because they seemed really good protection and i feel my hands are important. 2 seasons in used for commuting about 26,000 miles of use and they are still strong. i would buy again in a heartbeat Mar 3, 2015
Royce K: Heard good things about HELD from friends that use them. I also like that these have the soft kangaroo leather on the palm. I tried them on and they fit much better than my prior gloves, which didn't have a good finger length for my hands. Jan 11, 2015
C H: The reputation and feedback from others who have used Held gloves. Must try them myself. Looking for lighter gauntlet with more feel than what I currently have, which feels like boxing gloves at times. UPDATE: Measured my hand according to the sizing chart. Hands were a little wider than 9", so ordered next size up - 10. Received gloves, but glove fingers almost an inch too long, quite tight around knuckle joints. Knuckle protector extends well beyond width of my hand, so returning for 9. Oct 30, 2014
Charles L: Wanted more protection than the current short cuff gloves I was wearing. Held gloves seem to be a winner for most people. Sep 30, 2014
David D: reference product with regards to reputation for quality of construction, for warm weather, good protection, "sub $200" Aug 28, 2014
Darrin E: I've worn Held gloves for 10 years, just ordering my third pair. Apparently they tend to last about 5 years even though I'm hard on gloves. I wear them in the rain touring and commuting, in the dirt while dual sporting, pretty much everywhere and they hold up while offering a level of protection I like. Aug 19, 2014
Darius S: I have Big Hands and the Helds are Superb and they FIT! May 23, 2014
Tamie C: They have awesome reviews and it will make a great birthday present for my husband. Apr 17, 2014
Julio C: It was a closeout item, and Held gloves have a good rep. Wanted a gauntlet glove for more protection, figured this would be a great place to start. Apr 6, 2014
L A: Protection. Great glove. Stylish. Great tactile feel. Dec 2, 2013
John D: Replacement summer glove for my pair of Held Agadairs which are fantastic and have 18K miles on them with only some wear showing along both index fingers. Held has been my glove of choice for all seasons and riding styles over the past 2 decades, and I am a firm believer that head & hand protection are worth the expense for quality, comfort, and protection. Nov 17, 2013
Jeff F: I have a pair of these that I LOVE. I went down in a low speed get off and had them on. They are only slightly damaged, but I am replacing them with a new pair. Nov 16, 2013
Renato V: i heard held are the best at what they do. only one way to find out. Sep 10, 2013
A shopper asked: RE: Held Evo Thrux - considering buying - would be first time for Held - curious about sizing. Sized hand at 9.5-9.75 - should I go with their Large or E. Large? Have Cortech Adrenaline 2 and am comfortable in their large. Any help appreciated. - Jeff Jun 24, 2014

Christopher O: These gloves run on the small size. I am usually a size M in everything, which tends to be a bit oversized on me. I measured my hand and am a size 9 in Held gloves. I ordered the size 9 and, like others, found that they were definitely tighter than my last pair of gloves (SPIDI) but they broke in nicely. They are now perfect. So expect a tight fit at first but trust their scale and the capacity for the glove to "break-in". Jun 24, 2014

Jeffrey A: Hi, I typically wear a 4X in other brand gloves but this pair of Held I wear are 3X (12)
They are comfortable to me but as for as durability and long lasting I do not know....yet.

Stefan T: The Held EVO glove are a great glove.
As far as size I have short fingers so the large fit my hand but was a hair long in the fingers. Other than that I love them.

Clint K: I wear an XL, and also in my old alpinestars gloves. If you wear a L in another brand, I would stay with that. These run pretty true to size. Jun 24, 2014

A shopper asked: is this a beefier version of the awesome air stream? looks to have a more significant gauntlet and protection higher up while still flowing a lot of air? Jan 20, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
snowjam: i went to held usa to try on gloves with the intention of buying the air streams. when i asked the salesman about them he described them as "cheap chinese garbage" (although the evo thrux are made in pakistan) and directed me to the evo thrux. essentally, these are more track oriented and more protective. in order to get some venting with the thrux, i have to take my hand off the handle bars and hold it out from behind the fairing but thats no biggie to me.

if you are worried about heat, go with the held agadir (airstreams < agadir < thrux). they are more protective than the air streams.

just one mans opinion

A shopper asked: Would these gloves be warm in about 35 degree weather, and are they water proof? Sep 4, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RussellM: I would say no to both. My fingers go numb after 5 minutes at 5C (40F) but I may be a bit sensitive!
I've found they are water resistant in light rain but after 30 minutes of moderate rain at city speeds (ie. slow) they are soaked through.

JONATHAN N: They would not be warm in 35 degree weather...only comfortabke down to about 60 IMHO. They are water resistant in my two experiences of riding in about 20 minutes of rain. Sep 19, 2012
