GMax GM54S Derk Modular Helmet
Take it with a grain of salt as this is my second helmet I've ridden coming from a dissapointing hic IS modular.
That said I love this thing all kinds
2 objections after about 2 weeks.
-my friend easily broke a plastic vent cover thinking it lifted the modular face..(?)
-the modular face started coming down without me touching it while walking. Upon inspection it looked like the holster screw was loosening over time ??!! That's safety so I had to shave a star for not having better. Longevity in mechanics..
Overall satisfied just take very good care of it. And pay attention to bolts.

Fits well and good value for the price. The features are good and the vents are of good quality. The shade switch is a little flimsy but works fine. Overall a good helmet

This is not a motorcycle helmet
This is a snow helmet. Visor is NOT shatter resistant and there's little doubt why people complain about it being noisy.

Most bang for your buck
Researched about 2 months, before I found this one. The videos helped alot.
I bought an XXL. I used a measuring tape, and followed Revzilla's guidelines, and it fit perfect. It's tight around the cheeks. That's my only gripe. Really tight!
There's some wind noise, but it's bearable. When riding without a helmet, or with my half shell, the fairing on my Road Glide pushes the wind right in my face. Took a ride with my helmet yesterday, and it was like night and day. I could actually hear the music from my stereo.
Overall I'm glad I purchased this helmet. It was the most bang for my buck!

Modular, Sun-Visor, Rear LED... 'Nuff Said!
Great for the safety-conscious rider on a budget. When I started looking for helmets I didn't want to skimp on safety or features but I also didn't want to fork out a huge wad of cash. The features that sold me with this helmet were the modular design, sun-visor, and the light on the back. The helmet fits nicely on my head and although feels a bit on the heavier side (probably due to the modular features) it stays in place and doesn't jostle around. The neck strap does take an extra moment to put on but it's no biggie. The main visor is nice to reduce wind and noise and also prevent rocks and debris from hitting you in the face, but it can also glare a bit. Since I live in a warm climate, thus far I've only ridden with the main visor up. With the check pads in the noise level is quite muffled which can be both good and bad. In some cases you need noise reduction especially where there's heavy traffic but at the same time you may not always be able to notice vehicles. With the check pads removed the air-flow is better and the noise-reduction decreases slightly but it's still really good. Since this is my first helmet I really can't compare it to anything else, but a friend of mine who also rides says I made a great choice and he'd be hard pressed to find anything better in this price range. His only beef was that his personal preference is to stay away from modular and go with full faced helmets. Overall I am happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone who rides.

This is a great helmet. The feature are outstanding for the price, like my other GMAX helmet. The sun shield is great and comes down far enough to completely cover line of vision, unlike some other helmet I have tried. The air flow to the top of my head is a noticeable improvement over my last helmet any with the chin mesh removed my face gets plenty of air. As always Revzilla was great with sending it and it even arrived a day earlier than expected.

For the price a great helmet.
There is a plastic piece inside the chin gard that has screws in it and at the time that I took the helmet out of the box when I recieved it in the mail one of the screws fell out. I did put back in without any issues, but quality control should have caught it before leaving the manufacturer. The plastic slides for the vent also feel a little cheap, but do vent air very well. Despite the little thing I really do like this helmet. At the time that I baught mine I also baught one for my wife who also very satisfied with the helmet.

Great for Military, excellent features
This is my first helmet so I have nothing to compare against for noise, air flow, vision and such. I will, however, focus on the features since this led me to purchasing the helmet:
I commute to work at a military base and the gate guards require seeing your face when checking against your ID. The modular helmet allows easy flip up capability instead of removing a full-faced helmet, making the stop at the gate much shorter.
I like the internal sun visor which allows quick switching from bright to dark conditions and not having to carry around sunglasses.
The red LED in the back (with capability to sync with you brakes) is a useful feature too. I've used it in the "solid red" setting at night and I think it helped drivers be aware of me. The other settings are "flashing" (like what you might see on a bicyclist) and "rapid flashing" (I call it "epileptic flashing").
My reasons for purchasing: safety (features), functionality (for military bases), and price (<$200).
