Very easy installation
The vents next to the LED are tricky to get off. Unsnap them from the bottom, then the top, then slide away from the LED. The wiring clips for the transmitter work, but they're pretty cheap. Might be worth getting some decent ones from a hardware store. As long as you have a wiring diagram to determine which wires are positive and negative to the brake light, it's super easy to install.

I have not used this on the road yet but I'm looking forward to the added safety it will provide this riding season. My husband and my father-in-law also bought one each for their Victory's. We have tested them and are pleased with how they work. Installation into the helmet was easy. The bike a bit more complex for my Harley.

I purchased the GMAX GM78 Firestarter helmet and this light kit at the same time.
I was a bit nervous to start tearing into a brand new helmet to install the kit, but I took my time and used care not to damage anything while installing the kit.
Installation wasn't difficult. Took me about an hour from start to finish.
It's been working flawlessly for about 3 weeks with no issues. My only complaint is with the clips that hold the clear plastic light cover on; they don't really snap too firmly in place. It's never come loose, but I still don't trust it.

Gilbert M: Love the Helmet that this works on, and the fact that this adds visibility to me. I also like the fact that the light can be activated when brakes are applied. Ride Safe, Arrive Alive!!Sep 4, 2014
Al K asked:Hi, does anyone know if you can have two transmitters and pair it to one helmet light? In other words, if I have two bikes, can I put a different transmitter in each bike but only use one helmet and light for both bikes? Thanks!Mar 5, 2015
Christopher K:The LED replaces the one that comes in the helmet. It adds an extra button press for brake light. The transmitter splices into the two wires that go to the brake light bulb/filament. (A schematic is handy.) The module is the size of a large relay, and it can go anywhere it'll fit. There was room under my pillion seat for mine, with easy access to the brake light wiring there. But I'm sure you could add length to the wires and put the transmitter somewhere else.Dec 17, 2014
