Giant Loop Great Basin Saddlebag With Dry Pods
Perfect budget solution for long trips.
I wanted to take longer trips on my KLR but I didn't want big clunky panniers because of their cost and how much width they add to the bike. The Great Basin carries all I need and doesn't get in the way or break my budget. Plus, when I get to a destination I can remove the unit in seconds and carry it to where I set up my tent. I saved probably more than a thousand bucks over panniers with the Great Basin and my bike is still narrow enough for tight trails. I love it!

Fit my needs
Good product. I needed a big bag that could be moved from my F800GS to my KLX250S...and this fit the bill perfect. takes a little bit of playing with to get it to fit the way I wanted. (so it did not cover the fuel cap) but once positioned it did the job very well. The strapping system is very nice and allows you to add other dry bags if needed. I took it on a 1,400 mile trip trough TN, NC, VA, and it held up well, kept my stuff dry. We shall see how it wears over time and adventure.

Great design and bomber construction
Did my first DS camping trip with the Great Basin bag. Packed it full and hardly knew it was there. Great design/features and bomber construction. Chose this over the coyote. Has the compression straps to make it smaller for short hops or load it up on those extended trips.

Dave S: Simply the best , most versatile ,secure , light weight and water proof luggage for serious off road riding I could find .Mar 27, 2014
Mel B: From what i have read and herd that this is a good product, and I should be able to uses it on several bikes.Mar 26, 2014
PETER B asked:last question before placing my order: It says there is a cable loop. Is it continuous or 2 separate pieces. Cut proof reinforced material? assume its hidden somewhat once the bag is installed on the bike. Anyone using this and where do you lock the cable to?Jul 3, 2014
A shopper asked:Would this be usable on a R 1200 GS with Vario sidecases in place? Looking for something to extend down towards the passenger pegs and lower the center of gravity for baggage carried in addition to that placed in the Vario sidecases.Dec 4, 2014
Mitchell S:Yes it will fit forward of the cases if ridding one up, it is also very flexable and can be mounted over and around the side cases. I have a KTM 1190 adventure with SW motech cases and it fits with all three cases mounted. Make sure it is not in contact with hot exaust. it comes with a heat shield. Also makes a great backrest on long trips, I ride it through the red desert in Australia and it keeps out all the red dust that even gets into my hard cases.Dec 6, 2014
PETER B asked:how much does this GL Great Basin weigh when empty, including pods +-? I need to add it to checked luggage to take back to the Baja with me, along with a mountain of other stuff!Jul 2, 2014
Gerald H:I think it sits close to a foot, but that may be due to the angle of the seat/subframe. I think it can double as a mini backrest if you have a passenger. I have a picture if I can figure out a way to post it.May 14, 2014
