Gerbing's T5 Heated Gloves 4.6 5 113 113
Lasted 3/4 seasons and died.... They stopped heating 3/4's into a season and now its a season latter and I have a nice pair of unheated gloves. June 5, 2013
Nice gloves They have a great fit and feel to them. I am still getting use to how high to set them. The strap the goes across the back of the glove is too short. It needs to be 1 1/2 to 2" longer. I have not had a chance to give them a through test. Like riding in the rain. It has been dry here as of late.. April 22, 2013
WIde fingered gloves I wear a large. The gloves are well made and comfortable. I have now worn them twice and both times, the side of my hand gets very warm but my fingers are barely warm. Not sure yet if the fingers of the gloves need to fit tighter or if there is a problem with this pair. The gloves fit well over the sleeve of my jacket. January 28, 2013
Gerbings T5 Heated Gloves I bought both the Gerbings heated jacket liner and Gerbings T5 Heated Gloves, went from old wired type to new micro-wire, heats much faster. My hand measured 9" so I bought a large and there is ample room if you have long fingers. Very comfortable and excellent quality leather. My jacket has dual wiring for jacket and gloves, but i found that most of the time I had jacket and glove controls on the same number, so if you have a single controller may be ok for you. I've ridden to work hovering at 27deg, with 1/2 power stayed plenty warm, I do have had covers on handlebars. Overall its great, I always keep my heated gear on the bike, even in the summer, the northern California coast can get very foggy and cold, buurrrrrr. January 21, 2013
Saved my fingers from freezing but also burned them... Great quality gloves, and they really work. However when I first used them for test run, 1 hour trip in the cold, the right glove burned the top and side of my middle to little finger and the lateral side of my R hand. The L glove did not. Strange. Called to complain and they said that you should not use the gloves without the temp controller or they will burn you! Well, did not see that foot print anywhere.. but in any case, I bought the jackets and pants lines also I got the controller. With that, the glove worked great. Took a 5 hours long trip, freezing weather and my legs, chest and my fingers felt great. If you buy any of the Gerbin heated gear. Do buy the controller also! Cheers. January 16, 2013
Nice gloves Could use better protection for your hands in case of a fall but heats up nicely and quickly. January 7, 2013
Excellent investment I've used the gloves for about three months (riding every day) and am very pleased. They have a wide temperature range; I've worn them in temps as low as 15 degrees to about 70 degrees). They are warm enough to wear (for me) in temps in the low 40s without the electric heat. They have enabled me to ride throughout the winter, provided there's no snow/ice. If you're on the fence about spending $160+ on gloves - do it. You'll be glad you did. * They run large. I usually wear a medium. I ordered a small and they are still a tiny bit large, but for the most part fit very well. * I have experienced some cold spots, but nothing unbearable or anything that would prevent a long ride. * I have ridden many times in sub-20 degree temps and been totally comfortable (and I have a somewhat low tolerance for cold). * Shell out the additional money for the temp controller. You'll need it, as these things can get super hot. December 29, 2012
Great Glove This glove will extend my riding season. There may be no winterizing the bike this year. December 29, 2012

Answer:
The Gerbings T5 Heated gloves do not come with rechargeable battery packs. These gloves are meant to be used attached to a Gerbings interconnected system on a motorcycle. However, these are compatible with Gerbing's battery packs that are purchased separately. An issue that arises is the gloves do not have a pocket to hold the battery packs.

Answer:
There are no rechargeable batteries for the Gerbing's T5 gloves. They must be plugged into the bike, or to a temperature controller (recommended).

I believe the Hybrid gloves can be used with batteries and/or plugged into the bike.

The Gerbing's S2 gloves are battery operated.

Answer:
The rear seat passenger would connect the same way the rider would. Each would need to have their own battery harness. You could connect both directly to the battery, or if short on available space, install a fuse bus and run both off it. Running two sets of heated gear on one harness would overload the 15amp fuse on the harness.

Hi, I have a ducati 848Evo, but I plan to ride with it as long as possible (also during the winter ;-) ). I'm very interested in buying the Gerbing Gloves + undervest, but I was wondering if my battery could manage all that powerdeduction during the start up of my bike. Is the battery of the duc 848 strong enough for all that extra equipment? Will it recharge sufficiant or do I need to buy a stronger battery?

Answer:
The Gerbing's Vest has a draw of 49 Watts or 4.2 amps. The Gerbing's T5 Gloves have a draw of 27 Watts and 2.2 amps. Your Ducati battery should have no trouble handling this amount of wattage. If you are concerned about cold starts, make sure you warm up your bike, then plug in your heated gear after the bike's been started.

Answer:
I would expect you would have no issues if your alternator puts out more than 300watts. I have a Versys with a smaller engine and 300wat alternator and have no issues. The battery has nothing to do with this. It is a factor of the alternator output.

I would however recommend a heated jacket liner with heated collar and sleeves over a heated vest liner. Because it insulates better than a vest it can run at a lower temp setting for less power consumption. It is also MUCH warmer and more practical as you can replace the heated liner in a jacket with it. You can also drastically lower the power consumption of any liner in sub 40F temps by wearing it under your regular jacket liner. A heated jacket liner is also wired for gloves so does not require extra wires in your jacket like a vest does. A heated collar is really helpful in cooler temps.

Answer:
Keep your Battery on a Battery Tender at Night so that it has a full charge. Start your Bike and let it warm up a little before you plug in your Heated Gear. Gerbing sends an Amp Draw chart with each of there products and only use the correct fuse so that you don't stand a chance of frying any of your Bikes Electric's. The T-5 Glove runs smaller than the G3 by one whole size. I ride a 1100 EVO Hypermotard and was worried about the Battery. I went for a ride one real cold day and had my Gerbing's Insoles, Jacket liner, and the T-5 Gloves on and never had an Issue. If you are still worried contact your Duc Dealer and check with them.

Answer:
The easy answer is yes, the bike will be fine if you have the connector to the Gerbing's gear switched off at start-up. I would recommend adding a fuse block (Centech AP series or similar) that has a relay that switches off the headlight wire or other. It's an easy install and it keeps you from running your battery flat if any accessory is left on inadvertently.
Alternator output- don't what it is on that bike- is the key determinant in whether running heated gear will have any impact on battery charging. My guess is that you'll be fine. Don't stray too far from the specs of the OEM battery.

Answer:
I only have the gloves, but I think they only draw 3 amps, plus, if you wait until the bike is running to turn them on, it shouldn't be an issue. I think the two together shouldn't be too much of a drain on your battery. If you start throwing in pant liners and insoles into the mix, then you may start running into problems.

Answer:
I don't have the ducati, but I have faith in the charging system. My bike's system is overwhelmed by heated gear when it is idling, but not when it is running at speed. The best way to see what is going on is to add a volt meter that you can read when the bike is on. Then you can tell when the battery is being maintained (12.5 volts or greater), or when your load exceeds the capability of the system.

I don't have Ducati but I have the Gerbing gloves & jacket liner, there has never been a problem with the batter being strong enough on my bikes it is really pretty easy and the current draw is not constant. On the BMW you are better off doing a direct connection to the battery. I don't know about the Ducati
