Revzilla is the best If you don't want to wire you heated devices direct to your battery then this plug in assc. plug is for you. November 9, 2015
Unhappy... The plug could not maintain a secure fit in the accessory socket continually losing connection. Then half-way through my first ride with it, it stopped working altogether. I discovered later the fuse malfunctioned...it didn't blow...just came apart. November 24, 2014
Poor fit, comes loose Fits very poorly in my Blue Sea cigarette sockets. The connection with the socket is easily broken and it actually completely popped out twice on a 3 mile test ride. Also, when it was connected, the LED was very difficult to read in much light. The switch is nice I guess, but it's a bit redundant given the switch on my controller. Otherwise, it seems well built. Maybe it works well with other sockets, but if you have a Blue Sea socket, I'd avoid this. November 12, 2014
Smoked, melted, & caused potential fire on first use I purchased this adapter to use with the Gerbing gloves and jacket liner I bought at the same time. Seemed like a convenient option to connect my gear with my existing 12v socket on my Suzuki GSX1250FA. Less than 2 miles down the road I noticed a burning smell and saw smoke rising from the adapter. Stopped and found that the interior was already melted. Very disappointing. Do not bother with this product. Didn't bother trying to send it back as return shipping would probably be half the cost of the unit and there isn't much left to return. Use the wiring connection supplied with your gloves and jacket not this adapter. December 30, 2013
Works great I bought this adaptor to run an older set of Gerbing heated gloves. I didn't have the Gerbing power supply cord installed on the bike at the time, but did have a 12v cigarette lighter plug-in. This was a quick and easy answer and the handy on/off switch on the plug was a nice feature. Works as it should. November 18, 2013

Mark M: If I remember correctly, there's a fuse(glass cartridge type) in the end of the plug. Not sure of the amperage but I haven't had any problems using liner/glove combo.

A shopper asked: If I use the Gerbing 12v DC Plug adapter do I need fuses? Oct 1, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Mike P: If you have the 12v dc outlet on your bike then no there are fuses on it already. The harness that comes with the jacket that wires straight to your battery comes with a place to put a fuse box. I have bought two plug adapters and both worked good for awhile but broke later on but I ride my bike year around and in the rain. So I just wired it straight to the battery and havnt had a problem since. There needs to be a fuse somewhere in the circuit. If you have a fuse on your bike you need to check and make sure it is big enough. My concours 14 only had a 5 amp fuse and i put a 15 amp in it. Oct 2, 2014

Duncan M: This plugs into a cigarette-lighter adapter, which (in my case) provides the fuse. Oct 1, 2014

A shopper asked: I'm considering Gerbings heated gear, but the power port (cig lighter) is on the lower right hand side of my batwing fairing. If this 12 Volt DC Plug Adaptor is not long enough, would a marine quality extension fit the bill?

Oct 4, 2011
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Stevan P: It is roughly a foot long and would require an extension and could benefit from the Gerbing's Coil Cord Extension which can add up to 4 feet. Oct 25, 2011
