Great product! I bought these at the beginning of the summer to commute with. I wear them under my Draggin' Jeans. They are very comfortable. A tad bulky, but not bad at all. Only on very hot summer days do the front thigh protectors become a little too warm. All and all, these shorts offer great protection and great comfort-great product! November 2, 2014
Did it's job during a pretty nasty crash So there I was, riding around the mountains with a couple friends. We were in a small town, and it had just begun to rain, so we weren't doing anything abnormal. Got into a construction zone where the DOT set up a lane shift across a new bridge being built. On the transition from the old lane to the new lane, they apparently painted over the old lane division line in slick black paint, which was invisible with a smoked shield and in the pouring rain. My rear tire slid out on this painted line, then kicked back the other way and next thing I knew, I went down, HARD, at about 35-40mph. The bike slammed me low-side into the pavement. I slide about 100-150 feet and the bike probably about double that before coming to rest. I felt a bit out of breath and my right side upper body hurt a bit but nothing too bad. I got up and my friends helped me get the bike back up and we stopped about 1/10th of a mile down the road at a gas station. Come to find out later that, while wearing the Forcefield armored shirt and shorts combo under my Olympia suit, I had broken a rib or two (probably when the bike forced my arm to slam into my ribcage). Had I not been wearing the gear, I'm 95% sure I'd have done a lot more damage including probably a broken hip, shoulder, and clavicle, but obviously this is speculation based on which body parts hit and how hard. The gear definitely helped soften the blow. I realize it's not common to include rib protection but that certainly would have helped me avoid the break. Otherwise, I love the gear and wear it everywhere, all the time - street, track, and offroad. September 7, 2014
Don't even notice them when riding Wore them under for DH Mtn biking. Once they warm up they mold nicely and you don't even notice them when you are riding. I'm a girl and got a small but they still run a little big, the waist band comes up pretty high and the pad bump up against my knee pads if I don't adjust them just right. Overall a good buy! Saved me Awesome product. Very comfortable while on bike, already had a pretty bight speed slide in them and the protection was top notch. Not even a bruise! May 5, 2014
Great Protection and Very Comfortable I use these for mountain biking and dirt biking and to wear underneath my leathers when I take my supermoto to the track. I have taken a few hard falls on my hips with these while mountain biking and they have most definitely done their job. The fact that all the pads are removable is awesome because you can dial in the right amount of protection for your needs. They are very comfortable and don't get stinky after a long day in the sun underneath my leathers. The pads aren't too bulky yet they still protect from impacts. I highly recommend these if you are looking for a pair of protective undergarments! September 30, 2013
Good protection As with all of the Forcefield products - well made, good materials, good fit. I haven't ridden in hot temperature yet and haven't gone down - so I can't really tell about how cool I stay in the heat nor how well they absorb impact. They're a little bulky on the upper thigh when I'm riding - but that's because I ride SuperMoto. Other than that - buy them! April 8, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Neil H: Seems like the best solution to protect hips and tail bone, while wearing normal pants. Dec 13, 2014
Jennifer S: Primarily for the hip and thigh protection. Wanted moldable protection, not hard plates.
Using for downhill mtb biking.

Glenn M: Had them before and loved them. Lost them somewhere. Jul 1, 2014
Brian O: I plan on using these under kevlar jeans. I'll have impact protection along with abrasion resistance. Jun 5, 2014
Sean C: I'm a protection boy scout. Better than being penny-wise and pound foolish with regard to cost of recovering from injury. May 19, 2014
A S asked: Honestly, what is the difference (besides Pro costing more) in protection, fit and fabric? I want the most protection I can get over my thigh yet I also don't want to sweat to death either. I need to figure out which Forcefield shorts is best for my needs. Apr 22, 2014

Yendis B: I wore these in the dead heat of the Summer (June/July), and the ventilation was decent while riding. However, when not in motion you will know you have them on from an "air flow" stand point. With that said the fit was good, theyre extremely light weight, and although I havent gone down in them I suspect they will keep me protected. I wear them underneath Kevlar Jeans, to attempt to have the best of both worlds in protection. Apr 25, 2014

Steven L: I've been wearing these for a few months now. Don't know what the difference is between these and the "pro" (besides $40). The protection coverage look the same and I can't imagine the pads are any better in the Pro. These pads are pretty substantial. They're a bit bulky, but once they're on I forget I'm wearing them (much like a Leatt brace). I'd give the guys at Revzilla a call, as they generally know their merchandise pretty well.

Peace and safe riding.

Aria C: I have the action shorts, and I can't imagine needing more protection. They ventilate well too. IMO the pro shorts would be overkill, and I use them for the track Apr 25, 2014

John D: The only difference is the number of layers of the nitrix padding the sports action has 3 layers of protection while the pro has 4. Apr 25, 2014

James N: In my opinion, you don't need the "Pro" product. The padding on Forcefield's basic shorts is thick, and more than adequate for any mishap other than perhaps motorcycle racing. (Even then I think the regular shorts would have superb padding). If you decide to get the "Pro" shorts, make sure you buy extra baggy jeans or carpenter's pants, (or whatever you wear), at least a size or two bigger then your usual size. Even the basic shorts will require you to buy a size up on your pants. The hip and thigh protectors not only give your regular riding jeans a tighter fit, they will "pull up" on your jeans as well. In any case, you will feel extremely safe wearing the less expensive Sport Action Forcefield shorts. I personally love them.
Good luck, Jim
