This product is good for bikers This product is perfect for bikers. Protect your body and is confortable. The cost is a little bit expansive, but the benefits is very good too. I recommed this item for every bikers who looking for protection. October 20, 2015
Excellent Quality and Protection This is an absolute must-have for wearing under gear that has little or no padding. I have the feeling that these will last many years given the high quality materials and workmanship. October 5, 2015
Great comfort and features. I can't actually comment on the protection and hope I'll never have to, but the science is sound. They are shockingly comfortable, although very bulky. I'm a 34/35 waist and the medium is perfect. Used these in weather from 45-85 and was always comfortable. Kept me warm in colder temps and wicked-away heat and sweat up to 85 deg. Very impressive. I liked them enough that I bought the full pants and shirt as well. The shorts are the most comfortable of the three. August 10, 2015
Very protective I got these shorts to make up for the lack of armor in my riding pants. The armor over my tailbone and and around my hips is very confidence inspiring and overall the shorts are pretty comfortable to wear. However even though the material the shorts are made of breathes well, the areas with the pads don't. All in all, a little extra sweat is a price I can pay for good pelvic bone protection in a crash. April 23, 2015
Great protection, comfortable, a little bulky for riding jeans These Forcefield Action shorts are comfortable and seem to provide the protection I was looking for in armored shorts. They fit true to size and are not noticeable when wearing under textile style motorcycle pants. My only complaint is that they do not fit comfortably under my kevlar riding jeans, which already have a relaxed fit. I'm considering removing one layer of padding all around (there are 3 layers originally) to see how that would change the fit under my jeans. I don't know how much this would affect the protection which is why I haven't done it yet. Overall a great product. April 8, 2015
Excellent fit and finish Owning the forcefield pro shirt, I believe the shorts have the same high quality. You will be pleased with this purchase. December 22, 2014
Great product! I bought these at the beginning of the summer to commute with. I wear them under my Draggin' Jeans. They are very comfortable. A tad bulky, but not bad at all. Only on very hot summer days do the front thigh protectors become a little too warm. All and all, these shorts offer great protection and great comfort-great product! November 2, 2014
Did it's job during a pretty nasty crash So there I was, riding around the mountains with a couple friends. We were in a small town, and it had just begun to rain, so we weren't doing anything abnormal. Got into a construction zone where the DOT set up a lane shift across a new bridge being built. On the transition from the old lane to the new lane, they apparently painted over the old lane division line in slick black paint, which was invisible with a smoked shield and in the pouring rain. My rear tire slid out on this painted line, then kicked back the other way and next thing I knew, I went down, HARD, at about 35-40mph. The bike slammed me low-side into the pavement. I slide about 100-150 feet and the bike probably about double that before coming to rest. I felt a bit out of breath and my right side upper body hurt a bit but nothing too bad. I got up and my friends helped me get the bike back up and we stopped about 1/10th of a mile down the road at a gas station. Come to find out later that, while wearing the Forcefield armored shirt and shorts combo under my Olympia suit, I had broken a rib or two (probably when the bike forced my arm to slam into my ribcage). Had I not been wearing the gear, I'm 95% sure I'd have done a lot more damage including probably a broken hip, shoulder, and clavicle, but obviously this is speculation based on which body parts hit and how hard. The gear definitely helped soften the blow. I realize it's not common to include rib protection but that certainly would have helped me avoid the break. Otherwise, I love the gear and wear it everywhere, all the time - street, track, and offroad. September 7, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Mark L: Was looking for thigh protection. These seemed to have the most.

Unfortunately, the armor is quite thick and not great for women.

KENNETH L: more protection Aug 21, 2015
James E: When I race I risk crashing. When I crash the first things to hit are usually my elbow and my hip. Today my elbow is in a lot of pain from my last crash. Suits provide some protection....but not enough. My hip's still a little sore but it'd be pain free if my suit had more protection. Aug 17, 2015
Robert S: Forcefield has an outstanding reputation and this item seems to have best protection compared to other brands. Jul 7, 2015
Logan F: For safety and highway riding May 15, 2015
jeffrey r: Bulky, but you can't get protection without volume. I feel secure in these shorts under my jeans. Mar 18, 2015
Victor C: Good protection Feb 13, 2015
Milo I: I want hip protection but I'm not up for buying armored overpants/underpants on faith that they will fit, be comfortable, not look too weird, and keep the armor where it's supposed to be. These and the Thor kneeguards should solve that problem. Jan 25, 2015
Doug R: Needed better hip and thigh armor than in my Airwave and "Brand A" pants. Its hard to get good hip armor in the pants without bunching. Dec 31, 2014
Neil H: Seems like the best solution to protect hips and tail bone, while wearing normal pants. Dec 13, 2014
Jennifer S: Primarily for the hip and thigh protection. Wanted moldable protection, not hard plates.
Using for downhill mtb biking.

Glenn M: Had them before and loved them. Lost them somewhere. Jul 1, 2014
Brian O: I plan on using these under kevlar jeans. I'll have impact protection along with abrasion resistance. Jun 5, 2014
Sean C: I'm a protection boy scout. Better than being penny-wise and pound foolish with regard to cost of recovering from injury. May 19, 2014
A shopper asked: Size !

6'3" 210 pounds, rather large, round, um butt. Large ? Want them snug enough that they keep the armor in place but not so snug that it causes them to fail or wear out prematurely.

Jennifer S: I'm 5'7" 130lbs and bought small - which is a little too big in length but ok in width.
Bought a medium for the BF (5'9" 150lbs) and also a little big in length and width.
Because of the padding, these are pretty snug shorts. They only problem we have with armor moving is the thigh pads creep down until they are hitting our knee pads. Otherwise, they stay put and we really don't notice them when riding at all. Hope this helps.

Mark K: Hi, I am 5 feet 10 inches and 180 pounds atheletic build, waist 34 inches jeans. I called revzilla rep and recommended large and fits nice on me, maybe slightly loose. I am very happy with it because I did not want compression tight. I ride road bicycles as well and I wear a large as well. Hope this helps. Call the rep, my guess would be XL for you... Jan 2, 2015

Wayne S: It's hard to say with certainty. I'm the same height and weight as you but without the "large, round butt". I have these in size large and the fit is snug and comfortable but not tight. An XL might be a bit loose and you don't want that for the pads to stay on place. I'd say go with a large. Jan 7, 2015

Rob H: Probably large. I'm 6'-4", 225 and wear a 38" waist jean which are a little baggy. The large fits me just fine. They are highly elastic short so they should conform to you rear end. Revzilla has an easy return exchange policy if the large doesn't work out. Good Luck! Dec 30, 2014

Greg B: I am 5 ft. 9 inches and weigh 183 lbs. I wear a size large and it fits fine For you I would suggest an XL and if it does not fit just return it for a sixe large if you find it to be too large. Dec 30, 2014

jeffrey r: I am 6' 0", 195 lbs, 34" waist. The large fit me well. And I can tell by the fit that they would fit someone with a fuller posterior well. Dec 30, 2014

A S asked: Honestly, what is the difference (besides Pro costing more) in protection, fit and fabric? I want the most protection I can get over my thigh yet I also don't want to sweat to death either. I need to figure out which Forcefield shorts is best for my needs. Apr 22, 2014

Yendis B: I wore these in the dead heat of the Summer (June/July), and the ventilation was decent while riding. However, when not in motion you will know you have them on from an "air flow" stand point. With that said the fit was good, theyre extremely light weight, and although I havent gone down in them I suspect they will keep me protected. I wear them underneath Kevlar Jeans, to attempt to have the best of both worlds in protection. Apr 25, 2014

Steven L: I've been wearing these for a few months now. Don't know what the difference is between these and the "pro" (besides $40). The protection coverage look the same and I can't imagine the pads are any better in the Pro. These pads are pretty substantial. They're a bit bulky, but once they're on I forget I'm wearing them (much like a Leatt brace). I'd give the guys at Revzilla a call, as they generally know their merchandise pretty well.

Peace and safe riding.

Aria C: I have the action shorts, and I can't imagine needing more protection. They ventilate well too. IMO the pro shorts would be overkill, and I use them for the track Apr 25, 2014

John D: The only difference is the number of layers of the nitrix padding the sports action has 3 layers of protection while the pro has 4. Apr 25, 2014

James N: In my opinion, you don't need the "Pro" product. The padding on Forcefield's basic shorts is thick, and more than adequate for any mishap other than perhaps motorcycle racing. (Even then I think the regular shorts would have superb padding). If you decide to get the "Pro" shorts, make sure you buy extra baggy jeans or carpenter's pants, (or whatever you wear), at least a size or two bigger then your usual size. Even the basic shorts will require you to buy a size up on your pants. The hip and thigh protectors not only give your regular riding jeans a tighter fit, they will "pull up" on your jeans as well. In any case, you will feel extremely safe wearing the less expensive Sport Action Forcefield shorts. I personally love them.
Good luck, Jim

A S asked: I'm wanting to find something with hip and coccyx protection to wear under kevlar jeans; as a woman, is it still useful to look into these if my body shape is different? Dec 26, 2014

Lynn B: I'm not sure I can answer your question as I'm a guy but I've been using the Forcefield Sport Action Shorts for a year now and don't get on my motorcycle without them. I usually wear them under my Sliders and they're snug but OK. Each pad is 3 layers and I've removed one of the hip pad layers on each side so my pants aren't quite as tight. I guess that adjustability is one of the features I like best but they're high quality and I highly recommend them. As others have pointed out the waist is very high but you can roll the waist band down over the top off the hip pads and still get the protection if the high waist bothers you. Dec 30, 2014

Rob H: The shorts are highly elastic. I would suspect with the right size they would conform to your body. Depending on how tight you wear your jeans, you may have to go to a size up on your jeans as the Action Shorts with the pads are a little bulky. Dec 30, 2014
Reply to Rob Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Wilfred S: It's hard to answer your question being a man, but I can tell you that my experience with the Forcefield Action Shorts has been great. They're comfortable and protection is there if and when you need it. Jan 2, 2015

Steven L: I think these are really great, but I use them for dirt riding applications and wear under baggy MX pants. I think probably too bulky to wear under jeans. Dec 30, 2014
