Note on sizing My torso measured 20.5", so per the size chart I should be a large. However the large stuck out of the top of my jacket and probably would have hit the helmet if I went into a tuck. So I went with the medium... it covers everything including the tailbone. It is very comfortable and conformed to my body well. Seemed to disappear after riding for 15 minutes. October 13, 2015
Don't even notice it on... Great product! I searched the web and revzilla and found this to be the best for the buck. The track day i attended required a back protector that's the only reason I bought one. I'm 6'1" and I bought the large, it fit perfectly and I honestly didn't even notice I had it on. We were riding at Sonoma Raceway and it got in the 90's and I didn't feel any extra heat on my back. I think I will wear it more often for rides in the twisties and other track days... Very comfortable protector I can't comment on how well this product protects you during a crash. But it adds a nice level of support with plenty of flexibility. I'm a once a month track goer so the price point was nice. I'm 6' tall with fairly broad shoulders, it fits me well but maybe a slight bit long. July 28, 2015
Comfort fit I got this to replace the turtle shell style, at first it seemed a little rigid and when I put my full suit over it the first time took a wee bit of repositioning to get it in the right spot, all I needed to do was take the kidney guards and slide the whole protector down just a tad and my suit fit right over it. After a track session I went to take the protector off and I noticed that it had partially molded to the curvature of my back which explains why I forgot I was even wearing it. It was super comfortable for track day and never once did I have to fiddle with it, the adjustments are plentiful and you can get it as tight or lose as you need it to be. Eh, it does get a bit warm but face it 80 degrees, leather suit, & a back protector, it's gonna be hot anyway can't blame the protector. Light weight and comfortable. If you are a novice track day goer or looking for a bit more semi aggressive protection I'd stay look no further. Thankfully I did not have to test the crash protection. June 26, 2015
Comfortable The protection material is malleable and molds to the wearers back. Comfort-wise, the protector is like wearing a very light backpack, and barely noticeable after riding for a while. Protection provided is supposed to be well beyond CE2 requirements. I am 5'9" and purchased a medium. The protector covers from the top of my back to right around my waist when in riding position. I received the item 1 day after I placed my order. May 18, 2015
Comfort and Protection all in one Purchased the Force field Pro L2 EVO back protector back in Nov 2014. A gem of a product. The adjustable shoulder straps and waist belt ensure a firm but comfortable fit. The design is unobtrusive , you don't even know you are wearing it , but have piece of mind that if the unthinkable happens a least you are improving your odds of minimising damage to your back. I have done a number of tracks days and long tours and feel naked without it. Highly Recommended. January 12, 2015
Very Happy with this protector So far, the fit and comfort level seems perfect for me. I followed the sizing guide an the fit is spot on. I'm happy I went with this protector since forcefield is one of the top names in this category. I hope I never have to evaluate its protection capability. October 27, 2014
Excellent back protector I recently used this under my leathers at a track day. It fits great, easy on, easy off. Once riding I forgot I was wearing it. Very comfortable and didn't trap heat. It's not too bulky and easily fits under a suit or jacket. September 28, 2014

omar i: the best there is. Good technology! Jan 16, 2015
Joon K: I have a prosub 4 for trackdays but when my under layers get a little thick after summer, it's difficult to wear under my textiles, the L2 EVO is substantially thinner for better comfort under my riding suit with thicker layers on. Everyone should wear a high end back protector! It will save you from becoming permanently disabled from an accident. Nov 9, 2014
Anthony C: I bought a summer time riding textile jacket that would not hold up too well if i were to go down at 70 mph . Most sportbike users end up taking a fall on their backs , so now with CE lvl 2 certified back protector i will feel very ssafe Nov 4, 2014

Esmond L asked: Hi,

At just under 5'7" I think I should buy a Small according to the chart. I just want to double check that's a good choice. Thanks.

Alex I: I'm also 5'7", and I use a size S. The M would be too tall and the top would stick out of my leather suit. But it really depends on how long your torso is. Apr 16, 2015

Lawrence B: Well I'm 5 9" and I got the large. I like knowing the tailbone is covered as well. Maybe a medium?

Either way...great back protector

Michael S: I'm 5-10 and 185 lb and the large size is a good fit. The tail bone part at the bottom jets tucked into my riding jeans. Mar 9, 2015

A shopper asked: I'm 5'6" and am interested in a CE-L2 back protector that's has added tailbone protection. I will be wearing it inside my 1-piece leather suit, so it also needs to be comfortable, slim, and breathable.

What size should I order, and will this FF protector fit the bill?

I currently have a CE-L2 back protector, but it doesn't have tailbone protection.

Thanks for your help.

Oscar P: I exactly 5'5 and I ordered a Small. I think that size is perfect for me any bigger and it be too much. Its ling enough that it does extend a bit into my pants waist. Feels good and not too heavy, you can adjust the shoulder straps to whatever is comfortable.
As for the "breathable" part; well it does have some perforation holes on it. But yeah my back does sweat a little (as the temperature goes up of course ) I use it under my Alpinestars gp perforated leather jacket, in temperature 95+. (At that point yes its hot, but I rather be safe than sorry)

Michael S: I'm 5'11 and I have the large size back protector. It has the tail bone protector and to be effective it must be tucked inside of the pants you are wearing. The size is good for me but I only wear it with my summer riding gear with a mesh jacket so I can't comment on how it will feel temperature wise in a one piece leather suit. It is hot even with the mesh gear. May 7, 2015

Gurprit G: Get the small size. This will fit the bill. Also the forcefield back protector is a great alternative. More protection but about 40% thicker. May 7, 2015

Alexander M asked: Hey !

I am comparing this with the Alpinestars Nucleon KR-1 Road Back Protector. I am most concerned about tailbone protection. Do you know if one has more tailbone protection than the other?

I am 5'8" 150 lbs. Any idea on what size to get? Should I go for a large to get the most protection?

Gurprit G: I bought this product so I'll speak to this back protector. I am 6'2" 200lbs and the large was more than enough for lower back support. In fact, it just barely fit under my one piece. I wear this when I'm out riding with a jacket and kevlar jeans since that's when it is most comfortable. However I switched to the medium size Pro Sub 4 Back Protector when I have my one piece on.

I recommend you don't go any higher than a medium.

Nikita D: Hi,
I am 6'3" 225 lbs and I bought large size Forcefield that fits me perfect, so my opinion is that medium size will be a better fit for you. Not sure if Nucleon offers more or less tailbone protection then Forcefiled.
