Jack T: seemed like a good choice for my wifeOct 9, 2014
Dianne D: Some of the reviews were from people who ride in Minnesota and other cold areas. They gave these pants good reviews for handling cold weather, and the styling suits me.Mar 1, 2014
Patricia D: Thought they would be a good, warm and waterproof option, and they are, but don't plan on being able to wear them when it's not cold or rainy. If you remove the liner they are reduced to just a thin layer of textile between you and the road. I wouldn't recommend these, if you want something protective to ride in the summer months anyway.Dec 2, 2013
A shopper asked:How is the durability of the fabric and are there shells in both the hips and knees? I'm looking for something with this look with great protection.May 14, 2014
crystal b:I love these pants. They are made of ballistic nylon and offer a ton of protection. I wear these in the morning when the temps are below 50 degrees and I can't feel any wind. There is a removable quilted liner for added warmth. There are shells in the knees but not the hips. They are a little bulky but that is a small trade off for the protection you get. I usually take them off as soon as I'm off my bike because they aren't that comfortable to move around in with the shells. They slip on right over my jeans or work attire. I love the reflective piping for better visibility as well.Jul 16, 2014
Dianne D:I've had these pants for nearly two years and frequent use (I ride year-round and mostly in the mountains), and so far there is no visible wear. There are shells in both knees, but the protection in the hip area is a series of pads stitched into the fabric rather than a single shell. Both layers (insulated liner and waterproof outer layer) are warm enough to keep me warm even in the teens. Just the outer layer (this is the layer that contains the protection) works great in the summer for rain and chilly mountain weather.May 15, 2014
esther p asked:I am looking for a reasonably priced pair of armored overpants for wearing in temperatures between 65 and 85 degrees F. I don't start out on a ride if it's raining.
The problem is that I am 5'1" with an inseam of 26" when standing and 28" when sitting. These armored pants fit the bill, except the inseam on a size 7/8, closest to my size, is 30". So, these will be two inches too long when I'm sitting on the bike. I guess I can live with that, since there is no way to shorten them with their long zipper.
What I am very concerned about is the fit of the knee armor. I clearly don't want the knee armor to sit on my shins! How much can I move the knee armor up so it sits on my knees? Can I move the knee armor up 2 - 3 inches?
How hot will these pants be in temperatures of 65 to 85 degrees? I will be the pillion rider, so I'll have some wind protection from the front rider.
Michele C:I bought these pants but haven't been able to use them yet. I cannot address how comfortable they are between 65 and 85 degrees. However, I put them on last night to see how they fit. I am 5'2" and have an inseam of 28-1/2". The length for my size pants is 31-1/2". I could move the armor up 2", but 3" would be better. Based upon your own measurements and the size you need, it is going to be close. Having a short stature makes it difficult to find anything off the rack to fit. I bought these because they have a liner and I can cinch the waist and seemed to be the best option for me.Feb 19, 2015
DIANA E:I'm sorry, I can not help you, but when I bought the pants I mistakenly chose a larger size; I did it online, then I should return them. So I never used them. I can tell you that they are very nice pants and muiy good quality in relation to price.Feb 18, 2015
