Pleasantly shocked Was getting ready to plunk down 600 bucks on the Arai Dual Sport and one of my buddies talked me into trying this. For 125 bucks I though why not. Got it this morning. Wore it in the office for 15 minutes. Really impressed with the fit, and the quality/workmanship. I don't see a heck of a lot wrong with it. The vents are plentiful and work fine. April 15, 2014
Great Awesome hemet for the money. A little loud, and a little too much air flow in the cold, but still great. Incredibly wide view range compared to the Icon Variant I have, and much quieter. I'd buy it again if I had too. April 8, 2014
Good buy from a Good company I really like the Helmet the only problem I have had with it is that the sizing is a bit off. I wear an XL and this fits my Fiance who wears a medium. I had to go to XXL for it to fit right. Revzilla was great about the exchange fast and the people were really nice. March 6, 2014
Fly trekker great helmet for good price I'm comming out of a HJC street bike helmet that I have been using on the street & Answer dirtbike helmet on dirt. I just wanted a helmet I could use for both, and right away I can tell you the field of view is MUCH wider on this helmet than on my HJC street helmet. I like the visor so I can squeeze my specks on under the helmet (could not do that with the dirtbike helmet and goggles). I'd say it is a bit lighter than the HJC, but slightly heavier than the Answer Dirt helmet. Plenty of vents, with the mouth vent open zero problems with fogging. I put a Sena SMH5-FM Bluetooth Headset Wired Mic on it and it's like a media PC in there now!!! hehe. The fit is a bit small, I got a Large and it fits me very well, and I'm not a big person other helmets are Medium, so if you normally wear a medium I'd go large / one size up. Overall I would recommend this helmet. Chicks dig it .. but they just don't dig me? (execpt the wife of coarse). January 13, 2014
good for the price This great beginner helmet and great price Revzilla shipped quick no problems. Thank you for making process easy February 10, 2014
First Dual Sport This was my first dual sport helmet. I ride in Ohio so I wanted a full face shield helmet and a dual sport helmet. The dual sport helmet is extremely open. It fits great on my head just like a motorcross helmet. If you want a silent helmet that doesn't allow a lot of air in this is not the helmet for you. This is a great 80+ degree helmet. It looks great it feels great but the air flow is loud which is to be expected. Great for the money. December 23, 2013
good helmet for money its a bit loud and the massive airflow is great for summer time but a bit cold in winter of course. fit true to other reviews. great helmet for the money with different/ cool styling November 18, 2013
Very good helmet for the money. This is a good helmet for the money. The hi-viz color gets lots of notice and an occasional compliment. I have noticed people in automobiles that were getting ready to pull out in front of me that suddenly stopped and I am sure it was because they saw the hi-viz color. No matter what helmet you buy, I recommend a hi-viz helmet. It will probably save your life and you won't even know it. I like my Fly Trekker DS Hi-Viz helmet. December 30, 2013

A shopper asked: It seems to me that the Trekker Helmet is a slight bit better since the FX 39 is considered "entry level". Am I correct in my assumption that the Trekker is a better helmet? Jul 30, 2011

Chris K: Both the Trekker and the FX-39 are considered 'entry-level' in the Dual Sport Helmet world. These two are actually based off of the same shell so there aren't very many differences. We haven't gotten enough feedback to really see one pull ahead of the other, but my personal opinion goes to the FX-39. I like the way it fits and feels a bit better. Aug 3, 2011

RudyRocks: If I were buying the helmet for myself, I would buy the Trekker. However, if it were for someone else (IE: part time rider / passenger) I would get the FX-39. I think the Trekker is made of better materials. Just my two cents. Sep 10, 2012

JC9996: Take it for what its worth.... but I have read several times lately that they are the exact same helmet, made by the same manufacturer.... just a slight cosmetic change.

Its the internet.... so it HAS to be true. :)

appjoe2004: The fly does look better considering the more vents. Have you considered the AGV? Seems to be another great option if the budget allows. I know AGV has always been a great helmet for me. Sep 16, 2012

A shopper asked: If my head measures 58.5 cm, do I get a M or L size? Sep 15, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Alexander H: According to their sizing chart, you would be a large. I fit into the small size category on their sizing chart, however I tried a small on at one of my local moto dealerships and it was so small that it hurt my head and I couldn't even close my mouth because my cheeks were jammed between my teeth. I would not get a medium if I were you. You just barely fit the large size category and in my opinion the fly trekker runs small. Oct 12, 2013

Dark: Head size was around 58.5 to 58.8ish in the biggest measurement. I went with L, it's a very snug fit everywhere, the forehead is a bit too tight, hopefully it will wear in a bit there though. Glad I didn't go M. Oct 24, 2012

appjoe2004: your probably right on the border of med and large. I would go with the medium considering the break in. The med may be a little tight in the beginning but thats much better than the large not fitting at all Sep 16, 2012

A shopper asked: The FX-39 comes with a kit to remove the visor, is this also true for the trekker? Aug 31, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kenneth S: You do get a plasic screw driver with the helmet, which could easily be stuck in you tank bag, but I took a look at it this morning and I could easily remove the screws with a coin that I had in my pocket. I hope that helps you out. Ken Sep 26, 2013

Paul W: No. There's no special tool. I find a quarter works well to remove the two screws securing the peak, and a dime works for the two inner screws that hold down the faceshield. Sep 25, 2013

Balaji D: The Fly Trekker, also comes with a hard plastic multi-tool to remove the peak and visor. Sep 26, 2013

A shopper asked: I was wondering if anyone has bought the purple mirror shield? When someone is looking in to the helmet, is it a true mirror where you can't see the riders face at all? Nov 30, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Raymond B: Hidden behind the mirror.

Yes, this purple mirror shield is great at masking your big pearly whites behind this shield. Of course depending on the light and how you're position to the sun, passer byes may get a glimpse at who's underneath this shell. But, with the light to your back those who are looking to get a peek through this shield will see nothing but their own reflection.

Brent W: The shield I have is truly mirrored- you can't see inside from the outside , but I am not sure if I have the purple shield or not. Revzilla asked me to answer this question so maybe that's the one I bought. Nov 30, 2013

Kenneth S: I did not order a tinted shield with my helmet, I ordered clear, but you should be able to order extra shields in clear or tinted, Hope that helps. Ken Aug 26, 2013

A shopper asked: I would like to use the helmet in the winter for snowmobiling as well as the summer for dirtbiking/fourwheeling. I have found the single wall shields fog very easily in the winter. Feb 18, 2013

A shopper asked: What dual sport helmets have pads that work well with glasses? Apr 6, 2011
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Chris K: The best helmets that I know of would be the Shoei Hornet and the Arai XD-3, however, we recently tried the AFX FX-39 and it works really well too! The Fly Trekker is made by the same manufacturer as the AFX, so I would imagine the same would be true for this helmet. Apr 8, 2011

Alec: Just like what Chris K. said, Fly Trekker DS will have plenty of room for you to put your glasses on. It was designed to be worn with goggles so it leaves plenty of room inside for your glasses. Jun 4, 2011
Reply to Alec Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Alexander H: Alec keep in mind the goggle strap runs outside of the helmet. Oct 12, 2013
Alexander H: It would most likely depend on how thick/tight the ear pads are in the helmet. The fact that it accommodates goggles has nothing to do with how well it will work with glasses. Oct 12, 2013
