Wear them under your pants.
I'm 5.10, 165lbs, wear 32x32 jeans and 41" chest. I bought the jacket, pants, gloves and socks with a duel semi mount heat troller. Jacket is a size Med and I wear it over a tea shirt and under my riding jacket. Fits perfect and is light weight. Not bulky at all as the picture suggests. Pants are a size Med/Lrg. I wear them under my jeans and riding pants. The pants are not bulky either. The socks are a size Lrg. I'm a size 10 boot, and I wear them over regular cotton socks. For the best performance, you want to keep the jacket and pants close to your skin. I have tried wearing the pants over the jeans, but under my riding pants with decreased heat performance. The gloves are a size large and fit well. They seem to be water proof thus far. The jacket, pants and socks heat very well at temps down to 15deg when worn under normal riding gear. The gloves are good down to about 25deg, then fingers start to get numb. The gloves don't seem to be as good at heating as the rest of the gear, but they are quality made. I have tried every hookup combination. But hooking the jacket, pants and socks on one side of the troller, and then hooking the gloves to the other side works the best in my opinion. You can turn the gloves all the way up, and the other components heat so similar that they work well together on about a med, to med high setting. The heat troller is quality and well maid. It has flashing LEDs that are red and yellow, and flash at different rates depending on the setting. Slow flash/low, fast flash/high. All and all I am very satisfied. Quality gear and great service.

Firstgear heated liners for the win.
I bought the heated jacket liner first and liked it so much that I ended up buying the pants, gloves and socks as well. This is absolutely great stuff. Fully adjustable temperature controls react on the fly. The heat spectrum goes from, I'm not sure its working all the way to wow thats warm. I paired my liners with a good waterproof adventure-touring jacket and over-pants and I just couldn't be happier with the set up.

I made the investment for a trip to Nova Scotia later this summer and if the liners continue to work like they have thus far it'll have been worth every penny. These liners have extended my riding season by at least 2 months every season. Thats a very big deal when you live in a place that really only has about 4 months of truly warm biking weather.

Awesome Pant liner
This Firstgear heated pant liner is a very good product. The heat is even across the legs and makes a world of difference in cold weather. I now have the whole outfit, vest, pants, and socks and I have no trouble riding in the winter as the long as the traction is good. I am 5'10" 150 lbs with a 31 inch inseam and a 32 inch waist and the small fit spot on.

LONG TRIPS IN APRIL (WESTERN CANADA) LEATHERS GET COLD AND LEGS WILL GET COLD EVENTUALLY, THEN IT'S TOO LATE, YOUR COLD. THIS IS PREVENTION IN CASE YOU NEED TO WARM YOUR LEGS UP AND NOT HAVE TO STOP AND CHANGE OUT IN THE ELEMENTS.

I've got the jacket liner and gloves already and love them, want warm legs too. Extends the riding season a bunch!

Do a lot of winter riding and I don't let the cold and snow stop me.
Robert M on Dec 4, 2015
I have tourmaster heated chaps that also have a thermal fill component to them. The chaps work well to heat the front thigh and shin but add a lot of bulk (regular pants or jeans + chaps + armored overpants = bulk). I figure if I can wear these under the pants I'll eliminate some of the bulk and still get the warming benefits for the front of the legs on +30 degree trips. Under 30 degrees I'll use the chaps for the added thermal insulation.

I'm looking for something relatively lightweight to wear under Aerostitch Transit pants. Out of the heated pants (Gerbing, etc.) this was the only one that seemed like a viable option.

Will these pants work with my Gerbings heatroller (jacket liner)?
A shopper on Oct 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Can't say. Bought both parts from First Gear. Best take your wires with you to a shop and see if they mate.
Will these work plug into my gerbings control unit (in my jacket liner)?
scott b on Oct 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes. You may need a Y-cable or some other adapter as the cable on these ends in a female end at the waist.
Can these be used with another controller besides first gear?
james s on Feb 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: gerbing controller will work just fine
