Looks good on a Harley I haven't had the tired long enough to see how the wear life characteristics. Got caught in a rainstorm in the tire responded well and the tread design compliments the bike. I'm very happy with the purchase. July 14, 2015
Don't buy this tire the tires don't work good, verry poor grip also in water is really bad. May 26, 2015
Nice Tires Revzilla had best price, right model needed and delivered promptly. The tires now have 500 miles, so I can't give tread outcomes yet. But it's a sweet ride with nice traction. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain May 11, 2015
So far so good The American Elite is much quieter than the Elite 3 it replaced on my Harley. In-corner traction seems to be on par with the E3. I have yet to run this tire in the rain but, judging by the similar tread pattern, it appears it'll work as well as the E3 did. I got a little over 18K out of the old E3, and only replaced that tire as it had a puncture in the tread. I expected to get 24K-ish miles out of that tire, and I expect this tire give me about the same mileage. May 5, 2015
A good grippy tire for your HD So far, this has been a very good tire. While I haven't pushed it real hard, I've dragged the pegs through the twisties without issue. There's no center strip on these skins, so they won't track tarsnakes. I haven't been out on a wet road with them yet, but I suspect they'll do well there as well. Again, I haven't had them long, but so far, the American Elite tires feel like the real deal. February 23, 2015
this product wears very well First tired got 26'000 miles on it so I bought another one. I am very happy with this tire and I will update this review later this summer. February 2, 2015
Elite III I've been riding on the Elite III series on my 06 Ultra for the last 45K miles, 3 sets of them. My first two sets were D402, and were unacceptable tires. I'm due for my 4th set this spring. I'm contemplating switching to the American Elite due to the appearance of increased wet road handling, and harder center tread. I was/am exceedingly impressed with the Dunlop Elite III's and now want to try the latest on the market. January 15, 2015
Nice Tires! New to motorcycles. My Street Glide is the first bike I ever owned. Did over 20,000 miles in 5 months and the first 15,000 miles were on the stock tires. I have over 5,000 miles on these Elites and noticed an improvement in grip and handling, that is sweet. These tires are remarkable. The installation was correct and they are as smooth at 108 mph as they are at 60 mph. I love the ride! There is no show of wear in the tires as of yet and I have not been out in the rain on them yet. R O: I had Michelin Commander IIs, which I liked. But since I bought the Michelins, Dunlop came out with the American Elite 2nd Gen, they good good reviews, so I thought I'd try them. I prefer to buy American, but the product has to be competitive. I'll see how these work. I'll buy again if they match or exceed my Ms, or I'll go back to Michelin if these don't make the cut.

I ride an HD FXSTC 2008 Softail Custom, put on about 7k/yr, 30% 60+ highway and 70% primary/secondary twisties.

Howard B: No, this size tire was 1st use in 2009 when Harley did a redisgn on the dresser and is still being used today. The American Elte tire is a replacement for the OEM tire if someone is looking for a better tire. I have put more miles on the elite tires(front & rear) than the OEM tires and a friend of mine has 20k on a set as of this week
This is a GREAT tire for a full dresser. I do not know if dunlop has made and shipped any different sizes of elite tires, I know they were work on some different size

Owen W: I didn't like the harder and less responsive ride from the Dunlop American Elites and was very happy to replace them with the Michelin Commander II. I have 7 sets of tires on my bike and got the most miles from the Elites but couldn't wait to replace them. I hope I get a good number of miles from the Commander II's - I love the ride these tires are giving me! Apr 1, 2014

A S asked: 07 Heritage what tire is better the Dunlop or the metzler ? Jul 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Andrew H: In my opinion, Dunlop is better than Metzeler. I am a service writer at a Harley-Davidson dealership, and I see Metzeler tires cupping more often than Dunlop tires. Any brand of tire can and will cup if you don't keep your tires properly inflated, but a Dunlop tire typically will wear more even. My favorite tire right now is the Michelin Commander II. Also try running nitrogen in your tires. Jul 27, 2014
