just what I needed So it was time for a new front tire for my 2011 Street Bob. The previous owner had put on a Dunlop wide glide rear tire. On the front was the stock Michelin. Wanted something to match the tread and make. Found the American Elite. Exactly what I was looking for and a lot cheaper from some previous tires I had found elsewhere. I also liked the reviews and the video. November 3, 2014
great oem replacement the tire is a direct replacement product. it installed with no issues. The bike rides and feels like it should. January 28, 2014
Very good tire, Sticks really well Had been reading about this tire on the motorcycle forums, and I needed a rear tire for my Triumph Thunderbird 1600. Ordering from Revzilla was quick and painless. Tire showed up on my doorstep in about 3 days. Dunlop has a winner here, it's cheaper than the OEM tire, turns in better, and sticks just as well. December 31, 2013
great bang for the buck compared to stock So far, so good...the new American Elite tire has provided the "ride" that the stock does at a cheaper price...Hopefully I get another 18K out of this front tire, that's what I got out of my original front, stock tire....time will tell...Had it in the rain a few times and it felt pretty good.... Better than OEM I ordered the tire on a Wednesday and it arrived Friday evening. This tire rides smooth and quiet. Cornering feels like I'm on rails. Have yet to ride in the rain with it yet. October 22, 2012
Great tire for Harley cruisers Very nice tire. If I get near the milage from this tire as the stock one it will become my new favorite tire. Don't feel the tar snakes as much either. June 26, 2012

Ritchie S: I liked the reviews and I liked the price Oct 15, 2014
Charles S: Quality and reputation of the model of tire. Sep 9, 2014
R O: I had Michelin Commander IIs, which I liked. But since I bought the Michelins, Dunlop came out with the American Elite 2nd Gen, they good good reviews, so I thought I'd try them. I prefer to buy American, but the product has to be competitive. I'll see how these work. I'll buy again if they match or exceed my Ms, or I'll go back to Michelin if these don't make the cut.

I ride an HD FXSTC 2008 Softail Custom, put on about 7k/yr, 30% 60+ highway and 70% primary/secondary twisties.

Alan T: Yes you can. As long as the tire sizes match. I had a 402 as original equipment on my Fat Boy and switched to the Elite when it was time for a new tire. It's a great tire. Jul 28, 2014

Howard B: No, this size tire was 1st use in 2009 when Harley did a redisgn on the dresser and is still being used today. The American Elte tire is a replacement for the OEM tire if someone is looking for a better tire. I have put more miles on the elite tires(front & rear) than the OEM tires and a friend of mine has 20k on a set as of this week
This is a GREAT tire for a full dresser. I do not know if dunlop has made and shipped any different sizes of elite tires, I know they were work on some different size

Owen W: I didn't like the harder and less responsive ride from the Dunlop American Elites and was very happy to replace them with the Michelin Commander II. I have 7 sets of tires on my bike and got the most miles from the Elites but couldn't wait to replace them. I hope I get a good number of miles from the Commander II's - I love the ride these tires are giving me! Apr 1, 2014

A S asked: 07 Heritage what tire is better the Dunlop or the metzler ? Jul 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Andrew H: In my opinion, Dunlop is better than Metzeler. I am a service writer at a Harley-Davidson dealership, and I see Metzeler tires cupping more often than Dunlop tires. Any brand of tire can and will cup if you don't keep your tires properly inflated, but a Dunlop tire typically will wear more even. My favorite tire right now is the Michelin Commander II. Also try running nitrogen in your tires. Jul 27, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Lisa H: Use what your bikes manufacturer suggests. You should not put bias ply tires on a bike that requires radials and vice versa. Jul 21, 2014

Shorland J: I can't tell you how or if it will work on an '03 UC but as for me on my '11 Street Glide, it has performed great in all conditions. If you can make it work on your bike I'd highly recommend it! Feb 24, 2014
