Is the cotton treated with anything protective? Not just windproofing?

Some pants have kevlar woven in with the fibers to make them much more tear resistant if sliding on asphault...does this item offer any such protection? Or do the onlything they offer above regular jeans is the knee pads and some minor wind proofing?

Answer: 
The D25 jeans only have the Kevlar jersey in the knees. The rest is just the regular cotton fabric (no Kevlar weave) with the waxy, wind resistant coating. The D19 is the full Kevlar version.

And here's a free bit of info: While Kevlar weave does help tear resistance, the most important aspect of Kevlar is its ability to act as a heat sink. Denim itself is pretty strong, but when heat is involved the stuff disintegrates. Since road rash is just as much of a burn as it is an abrasion, the Kevlar soaks up a lot of the heat that would normally destroy denim.

What is the inseam? Also, are the measurements waist size? Is a size 30 waist equivalent to a size 10 in women's?

Answer: 
The Dainese D25 jeans are sized in waist measurements, so before you order, I suggest taking a waist measurement to be sure. If you normally wear a US ladies size 10, you are most likely a size 31. These also have a slight stretch to them and are sized slightly roomy. Inseam measurements are approximately 32 inches.

I ordered these. They look pretty awesome. I'm 5'9", wear a size 10 or 12 in US women's, and have an hourglass shape. These run true to size. I ordered a size 31 in these jeans and they're snug, but they do stretch a bit and fit around my bum.

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
