Dainese Vera Cruz Shoes

Comfort, a sporty look and technical content summarize Dainese Vera Cruz shoes. They are ideal for a day's outing on your bike or for going for a quiet stroll. Thanks to the use of cowhide and tough, resistant D-Stone fabric, rigid inserts at the heel and a system for protecting the foot during gear changes, the Vera Cruz shoes stand out for the protection and reliability they offer. The inner lining in double needlebed fabric further enhances comfort and they are also CE Category II certified.

  • Hard inserts on the ankles
  • Nylon midsole
  • Shoes certified to CE - Cat. II - 89/686/EEC Directive

Ergonomics and Comfort:

  • Split cow leather
  • D-Stone fabric
  • Closure with laces
  • Fixed liner with double jersey fabric

  • Gear shifter guard
  • Rubber sole

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.

Great slightly protective shoes Makes riding 100x more comfortable. Wear pads for shifting are great, but don't appear super durable, time will tell. Shoes look good, fit right and make riding a lot more comfortable. October 5, 2015
Can't go wrong with these. These boots are some kind of balance between riding boots, regular boots and some riding boots which look like regular boots. Good balance. You can't spend a lot of time walking in these as they are a bit rigid but they fit well and are very comfortable during summer or winter (Spanish summer and winter). And that amazing shifting experience they give to you is hard to describe. They are not waterproof, and could be a bit taller as now I have sometimes a gap between pants and boots which makes ride not very comfortable so I have to rely on long socks. But then they would look less good probably. On a downside, the laces got broke after 6 months of daily use. But again I like tight fit. Would be good to have some velcro or any other way to hide laces, otherwise they are hanging quite long – something you don't expect from riding gear. Technically this is not impacting anything. Can't go wrong with these. November 9, 2015
You wont regret getting this boot Excellent boot, very comfortable on and off the bike. Dont think about it just get it. August 3, 2015
Comfortable Riding Protection I've tried several different riding boots. These are my favorite. They offer CE protection while being very comfortable! I appreciate the gear shifter guard as well. There are other boots that bring more serious protection, but are usually much more stiff, and often make shifting a bit more of a chore. The Vera Cruz is a great blend of comfort, style, and protection. As soon as they get the gray color back in stock in a 37, I'm going to order a second pair. Highly recommended! August 1, 2015
Great all-day riding boot When looking for a boot I wanted something I could wear while riding to work and while sitting at work. This boot is perfect. Great style, comfortable enough for all-day wear. I usually loosen the laces when I get where I'm going and tighten up the laces again when I'm getting back on the bike. Might have to buy the brown, too, so I can switch things up. The grey one is a bit lighter than the picture shows in case you're trying to match it to something else. It's more of an anthracite than the really dark grey the photos show. June 26, 2015
Great style and protection... These have turned out to be my favorite riding footwear, they are incredibly comfortable to wear on and off the bike, look great with jeans and offer a decent amount of protection for the ride to work and back. For longer rides I go with a more substantial boot and protection but these Dainese Vera Cruz shoes are perfect for that short ride around town or when you have a substantial amount of walking ahead of you. The quality is what one would expect form Dainese, I really like these shoes and will be ordering another pair to have “IF” these ones ever wear out. June 22, 2015
Nice shoes Good for both on and off the bike. Easy to walk around in. Fit a little narrow in the toebox. June 16, 2015
Looks great, good protection, lower rise in the back compare to Scarpa Asphalt C2B This is my second pair of riding shoes from Dianese. I have the Scarpa Asphalt C2B and both shoes run a bit "tight". True to size but the vertical clearance is limited. Which is good for riding, you will truly feel the gear shifter. I love the looks and quality of the shoes, and both shoes has good protection around front/back and ankles, but prefer the Scarpa Asphalt C2B as my primary riding shoes. Main reason is the Vera Cruz is slightly lower rise in the back vs the Asphalt C2B. This makes the Asphalt C2B slightly more comfortable. June 15, 2015

Robert R: I'm looking for a comfortable shoe/boot for riding and walking. My current, old, boots are okay for riding, but fall very short for walking any distance after riding. So, the look is also important. I was initially interested in the more technical riding shoe/boot, but they look too aggressive as a walking shoe/boot. These look like they fit the bill in both cases. Nov 28, 2014
Ulises L: Had seen these boot in a store and purchased online. Nov 28, 2014

Lance D: After riding in, I wanted a good looking shoe for the office. My feet get hot easily and I often wear sandals but I was tired of keeping a pair of non-riding shoes under my desk and am looking for something I can wear all day. Jun 27, 2014
Brian B: I was looking for a nice pair of shoes that i could wear off the bike while providing some measure of protection. Jun 21, 2014

Scott S: I wanted a pair of sport riding shoes to provide additional protection (better than tennis shoes) that I could also wear off the bike at work on casual Fridays as well. These have been solid shoes (been on about 10 rides with them) and are easy to walk around in as well. Apr 18, 2014

A shopper asked: Are there plates in the ankles for protection or is it just thick padding? May 19, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Ronald S: Yes, there are malleolus protection plates on both sides of the shoe. This is a very well made riding shoe but mine ran a bit small. I wear an 11 and the 45 Euro size is very tight. Also the shoe laces both broke after several rides --- no big deal. May 22, 2015

Jean H: Just padding. These are a comfortable shoe with some motorcycle applications for safety and convenience: malleolus padding, strip on top to protect shoe from shifter interface, bottom surface is cycling friendly... May 19, 2015

A shopper asked: How would you rate the stiffness of this boot on the Anthony scale...6 or 7? Mar 17, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Paul M: I'm not sure what the "Anthony" scale is, but these shoes are fairly flexible. Not as flexible as a running shoe, but not overly rigid either. Mar 18, 2014

Patrick S: I'm no expert on boot stiffness, but I did two comparisons of the Vera Cruz against my Rev'it touring boots and TCX street boots. First holding the heel of each against the ground and twisting the forefoot to test the stiffness of the sole - The Vera Cruz was the stiffer of the three. Then I pushed the heel of the boot against the ground with my fist, and flexed the upper - here the Vera Cruz is very flexible. So, my well meaning amateur answer would be a 7 for sole stiffness and 6 for upper stiffness. Mar 18, 2014

A shopper asked: Hello Team,
I am shopping for a sporty street riding shoe. Ankle high, comfortable to walk in but still ride specific. I like the Dainese Vera Cruz.. I live in FL and its always warm out. Could you offer some staff favorites to choose from?

Kind Regards

Cody P: They are super comfy, and don't restrict any movement, so walking in them is nice. I'm in Louisiana heat here, and they breathe well. I'd buy them again for sure. Jul 4, 2015
