Very nice boot, but sizing is off!
I watched the video, read the review and was comparing with the short shift boot. This is very well made, has great protection. I was skeptical thinking I was getting a hightop sneaker type, no the ankle area is protected and the boot feels solid while being practical for a casual ride. However, I wear a size 10 in all boots and sneakers so I ordered a 43 since the information says "true to size". I just placed my order for 44, and initiated the return for the size 43. All the other Dainese boots reviews say to order a size up, and I should have carried that advice over and you should too! Amazing quality on this boot, no regrets on choice, just size.

Great Style, Comfort and Fit
I split the difference between and 11.5 and a 12. I ordered the 45 and it was just a bit tight in the length. Exchanged was easy with REV, and the 46 is perfect! I wore them ALL day in a safety training class (lots of time with feet on ground) and my feet were just as happy at 5:00pm as they were at 8:00am. Super comfortable and good looks. Protection seems good for a shoe with firm reinforcements in the right places.

Awesome shoe
These riding shoes are great. They look nice and offer pretty good protection compared to a regular tennis shoe. They are comfortable so I don't need to carry an extra set of shoes when i'm riding to go hang out with some friends. They seem to breathe well, so even though I haven't ridden in the rain with them I would guess they are not waterproof.

Great riding boots but let down by a couple of issues
Pros:

They look great

They fit snug

Feel beefy enough to provide good protection

Easy to walk in

Cons:

Not quite as good looking in real life as in photos, the dainese logo is very difficult to see and the black is blacker.

It scuffs the back of my foot, need to either wear thicker socks or put a bandaid on to help, this is only an issue if you walk with it for a while.

Love these
I wear them to work and they look good. I work in a hospital and I run up and down flights of stairs all day. These shoes are light, slim, stylish, look cool and professional, and comfortable. Made for average shaped feet. Compared to my TCX boots (X-Rap WP, Urban WP) - better fit, better style, less bulk, less weight. Also unlike TCX the footbed inserts stay in place and don't slide around.

Pros: secure toebox, some ankle protection, slim and versatile looks, stylish. Great price. Good contact with toe box and shift panel, gives me plenty of feedback from the bike. Great quality for materials and construction.
Cons: some people with wide feet might not like the snug toe area. Also, the laces are just a tad too long and nowhere to tuck them after you tie, but that's easy to fix.

This shoe is as comfortable as a running sneaker but has the features we need in a riding shoe. They look great also.

A little pricey but worth it
So far I love these shoes, I use them for commuting to school and work and are very comfortable on the bike, off the bike it took about a day or two to get use to and then I didn't even notice them. Overall these are a really nice shoe, with good protection for what I'm using them for. They are a little pricey but when it comes to having a shoe that will protect me much better than a sneaker and looks great I believe that it is completely worth it. I do wear them all day at school and at first they were slightly uncomfortable in the heal but now they are as comfortable as any other sneaker, highly recommend them

This is a great boot!
These boots are definitely worth the price. They are more than just stylish, they are very comfortable and ride very well. I was concerned about fit as I have wide feet and some commenters recommend ordering large, but I ordered true to size and found that they fit great. Much more responsive than a heavier tech boot and stylish enough to wear off your bike!

Great commuter boot
I needed a boot for my daily commute to work. I wanted something that looks like a normal boot while still providing good protection. The Vera Cruz was a good match. I feel confident enough to wear them on the freeway, and they are bearable to wear the entire day.

The quality is very good (made in Romania). I got the black suede version, and they are darker than the picture. They are easy to walk in and I really like the sole. It's a low profile and very sticky.

I wish the shoe had some ventilation. I am not a fan of the rubber guard. The logo on the sides of the shoes is not visible on my pair.

Other than that, I think it is a great functional boot.

I like the looks of them. and they are not too far off from the black suede Pumas' I used to ride in on occasion, and offer protection. Unlike other shoes with similar style these have protection for the gear selector on top of the shoe which was important to me when purchasing. They also give me hopes they will be comfortable & protective. They won't beat a full boot, but for casual rides I believe these will do very well, and are much better then plain shoes/sneakers.

I'm looking for a comfortable shoe/boot for riding and walking. My current, old, boots are okay for riding, but fall very short for walking any distance after riding. So, the look is also important. I was initially interested in the more technical riding shoe/boot, but they look too aggressive as a walking shoe/boot. These look like they fit the bill in both cases.

After riding in, I wanted a good looking shoe for the office. My feet get hot easily and I often wear sandals but I was tired of keeping a pair of non-riding shoes under my desk and am looking for something I can wear all day.

I wanted a pair of sport riding shoes to provide additional protection (better than tennis shoes) that I could also wear off the bike at work on casual Fridays as well. These have been solid shoes (been on about 10 rides with them) and are easy to walk around in as well.

How would you rate the stiffness of this boot on the Anthony scale...6 or 7?
A shopper on Mar 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure what the "Anthony" scale is, but these shoes are fairly flexible. Not as flexible as a running shoe, but not overly rigid either.
Are there plates in the ankles for protection or is it just thick padding?
A shopper on May 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there are malleolus protection plates on both sides of the shoe. This is a very well made riding shoe but mine ran a bit small. I wear an 11 and the 45 Euro size is very tight. Also the shoe laces both broke after several rides --- no big deal.
Hello Team,
I am shopping for a sporty street riding shoe. Ankle high, comfortable to walk in but still ride specific. I like the Dainese Vera Cruz.. I live in FL and its always warm out. Could you offer some staff favorites to choose from?

Kind Regards
Alex
A shopper on Jul 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are super comfy, and don't restrict any movement, so walking in them is nice. I'm in Louisiana heat here, and they breathe well. I'd buy them again for sure.
