Jacket came in perfectly packed by ZLA no issues and quick delivery.
Quality - I gave it a once over checking all the seams and the zippers Dainese must have a great quality control person I have never has a stitch out of place.
Fit - is a little snug but that's with the back protector in. Arms and across the back fit well and stretch when you go into a ride position.
Style - looks better in person if that's possible, always the little details are evident.
Issues - when will Dainese conform to the US zipper laws as always zipper is on the girls side.
It was a toss up on this and the Paved, I think this will flow a ton more air. And I use my ZLA bucks to get the Paved later.

I have been sporting an AStars Indy for a while and needed a lightweight airflow jacket (I live in Australia) for the summer season... After much deliberation went with the Shotgun and i am very pleased i did.
The Shotgun is a great jacket that has excellent breathability and air flow, it somehow maintains a fairly comfortable almost non flow of air at low to medium speed, but once over the 80 km/hr (i think about 45-50 mile per hour) the circulation forces air through the back panel and you get a whole new flow of air around your back... Its Great!
The styling and fit of the Dainese Shotgun is sweet as well, i love the fit. I'm about 5'6", 75 kgs (165 pounds) and it fits great, snug and fitted well.
I'd recommend every day of the week.

Pros: - Fitting excellent - Styling good and eye catching especially red color - Very comfortable - Air flow excellent
Cons: - Flapping above 100km/h on shoulder area. Can be dangerous because of the flapping it keep shaking my helmet and affecting visibility on high speed

I wore this jacket throughout the summer in Texas and could not have been happier with its comfort and styling. Probably the best summer jacket I've ever worn.
Unfortunately I experienced a relatively low speed (35-40mph) low-side while wearing it and was less impressed with the performance. The mesh portion of the arm ripped open across the entire length of the forearm and a large portion of the shoulder wore completely through.

I am 6'3" and about 180 lbs which makes it difficult to find riding gear that is long enough without being baggy. This jacket (size 50) fits perfectly and has better air flow than I thought possible. The only drawback is that with the back protector installed, the collar feels a little tight against my neck when leaning forward (riding a sport bike).

Amazing jacket!! I have had several "summer" riding jackets. They are all good jackets with descent ventilation for temps up to the 90's. But this jacket will take you well into the 90's with comfort. When you look at the material, you wonder how in the world it works...it does not look vented at all. I have a mesh Dainese summer jacket that is obviously vented (big open mesh material)...but comes nowhere close to being as cool as the Shotgun jacket to ride in. Good pockets/zippers as well as an interior pocket and a back protector pouch that accepts up to the large size Dainese protector (G1 I believe?). Again, the material may make the jacket look a bit "cheap" compared to a textile or leather mesh, but it is MAGICAL in how it keeps you cool when riding in 90's with HIGH humidity. I live in Alabama and it has been exceptionally brutal this year, but this jacket is almost like airconditioning!

After much debate I bought this jacket though I really wanted the next one up as it came with the back protector and had a better style. I couldn't get my size so I got this one instead.
It was a bit dissappointing in the sturdy feel was not there I expected, but if you get one small enough it should protect.
I normally wear a 54 Euro but lately have been buying 52 as I lost some weight, this one was only available in 54 and fits OK with the back protector only and snug only if I wear something thick under it and the sleeves are way too long and do not zip which is a pain.
That said, the style is great and got it in red which accents my bike nicely.
To say it is over priced is an understatement and I am used to BMW gear pricing but the BMW gear is much more durable looking (double stiched etc) and gives more confidence. Were I not a slave to fashion and style I'd pass on this one. But as it is I still would recommend it for the air it moves is a strong compelling reason and the armor though fit is important should work. I used the larger back protector it is fitted for either on. That was a plus.

other jackets like the revit air feature their custom version of cordura at 500D count in high impact areas. dianese doesnt seem to rate or explain how strong or resistant mugello is. have they rated this stuff or it is "magic?"

Dainese doesn't always rate themselves through the same standards, however, the Mugello fabric is meant to be a stretchy, abrasion resistant material. It doesn't act like Codura because it is more pliable and flexible, however, it does protect similarly. I have this jacket myself and can attest to the strength, however, I haven't crashed in it yet so I don't know what road-rash would do to it.

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.
