This is my first back protector. I was a little worried since I mainly commute with a backpack on. I was in the store in Philly and the lady that had helped me was also riding with a full leather jacket and a backpack every day for a few years. That has convinced me to buy it and she was totally right. You won't fell it all. Airflow is good and the quality of the protector fells good as well.

Amazing product, can say enough good things.
Great fit, great airflow, non-intrusive. Feels like your not even wearing it. Lots of adjustability. Makes you feel more safe from the second you put it on, great product!

Very comfortable great protection.
After trying the size 8, i found it to be too long and it would push the back of my helmet foward if I tilted my head back slightly, so i exchanged it for a size 7 which is now very comfortable, it fits under my dainese textile air jacket and I wear a size 50. I never leave home without this back protector, i feel naked riding without it. This new back protector looks a lot better than the older versions in my opinion and offers the same if not better protection.

its super light, well constructed, very comfortable, takes the shape of the back arch, covers most of the back, very stylish, you can wear this outside of the jacket and it wont look like an ugly turtle shell. very happy with the purchase. excellent air flow!

Darius W: Nice Idea, well constructed. Too bulky for me, cant see myself wearing it. Going to return itSep 7, 2013
Robert H asked:Does this also act as a back alignment device (like a Bac-Align)? in other words does it also give you low back support? I do long distance rides and dont like going without that support, but dont want to wear both.Aug 10, 2014
Damien D:Hi There, I am not sure what level of support the Bac-Align provides as I have never seen or used one but this is really impact protection. The back protector part of it is hinged like an armadillo so the spine can curve as normal. The broad waste bands and the position over the kidneys do provide some lower back support however and if they are done up firmly that does help with lower back fatigue on a long ride I find. Hope that helpsAug 12, 2014
Jadranko S:I do not know what Bac-Align is. It does not give as much support in the lower back but feel a little warmer and safer to drive with it on. hope you got the answer you were looking for.Aug 12, 2014
Paul M:It's a waist size .....Because of velcro system its adjustable size and it will work for you ( I'm 34" waist and 6ft tall and it's perfect for me ). You can also go to large for more adjustment range. It's important to get 8 plates because of your hight.Aug 14, 2013
Bret B:I bought this sight unseen on the recommendation of a friend. I have similar dimensions to yours and this is very comfortable. I purchased a large size. The strap is made of elastic and strong Velcro almost feels like a back support. I don't have the ability to compare this product to others.
Chris KStaff:The "Type" (7 or 8) is the height of the back protector. Generally speaking, choose 8 for six feet and over, 7 for six feet and under. The "Size" is the girth around your waist and chest and can be ordered like a jacket size.Aug 7, 2013
