CE rated hip protection I bought these add extra protection to my Olympia pants. I really like that CE rated but I think they are quite small or Olympia pad pocket is huge these are my only pants with hip armor slots. I put stock foam pads in with these to keep the stable in the armor pocket. I am sure these must be meant for motorcycle jeans I just wish they made beefer and larger pads to fit riding pants. Moderate protection These pads seem to offer moderate hip protection. They are comfortable and I don't even notice that they are there. For casual riding they seem fine, but for more aggressive riding something more substantial may be preferred. I am using them in a pair of Dainese heavy cotton riding pants for casual riding. Soft and Comfortable I was worried that these would be in-your-face, kind of like a back protector. However, they move like silk in your hands. When they're installed (in my Dainese Yamato Evo pants) I can barely tell they're there. Good buy! March 17, 2014

How do I want to position the armor when wearing to ensure max protection?

Alexander A: I'd believe hexagons out so. Also makes sense comfort-wise. Mar 8, 2014

SeViC : In case some else comes here looking for the answer, i emailed dainese and this is their answer "ProShape works in both ways. The jeans have it positioned with the hex facing the leg. However it could be used in both the positions. The trade-off is Comfort (hex facing out) vs Safety(hex facing in)" Jul 22, 2015

Brian C: Hex out. The Dainese Easy Fit Knee Guards use the same armor design and the hex pattern is facing out. Sep 14, 2014

"" ": I looked at a few dainese jeans in person and none had hip protection pockets. I bought these hip protectors for Rev-It jeans. These were small for the pockets so I just quickly sewed the pockets a little smaller. I like these because they are low profile and aren't noticeable. Apr 28, 2014
