Dainese Laguna Seca EVO Perforated Race Suit

A myth of Dainese tradition reinvented: Laguna Seca EVO Suit further improves on the already excellent ergonomics of its predecessor and is CE Category 2 certified. Great suit, great appearance, great protection, great comfort!
I bought a 2013 Laguna Seca PRO in July of 2013 and wrecked in it at 55mph two weeks ago (mid-April 2014) and limped away with no broken bones. I landed on my left shoulder then slid on the road for about 100 yards before hitting a guard rail slightly sideways. While it is never comfortable to crash a motorcycle, this suit was amazing and I just bought this 2014 Laguna Seca EVO to continue my level of safety and comfort on the street and track.

I wear a size 48, I'm 5'7" and 150lbs and it fits perfectly. I have a 32" waist and 42" chest.

In addition to the suit in the crash I was wearing SIDI Cobra Airs, a Icon Variant helmet, a Leatt STX road neck brace, and sedici ultimo gauntlets. Ride safe!

High Quality, Great Value
So i tried on about 5-6 different suits from 3 different manufacturers and this was by far, what I believe to be the best suit in this price range. I'm 6-1, about 170lbs and have a taller / leaner physique and this suit was the absolute best fitting suit for someone of my stature by far. (Size 52) You really do get what you pay for - the differences between less expensive suits and something like this are very obvious - Don't skimp on protection!

I haven't had it to the track yet, but I did go for a 30 mile ride around town in it and it was actually was quite comfortable. The suit flows a lot of air and even though I was in stop and go traffic for some time, I never really got hot in 75ish degree weather. Give it a look!

This suit saved my life
So today, I was riding in the Angeles Crest highway 2 canyons.
I was wearing this suit, Dainese Boots, Sedici gloves and an AGV Rossi helmet. Long story short I lost traction in the rear, speed wobbled, ran way wide, recovered and then high sided at 80mph. I am so lucky I was wearing this suit. I slid about 25 feet before tumbling off into the rocks and dirt. The hard metal plate on my right shoulder busted off and was destroyed. The right arm somehow ripped open on the inner section.
I walked away with some whiplash and a cut on my finger because my glove fell off.
This suit saved my life. BUY IT. I will never wear a suit other than Dainese. If I was not wearing it I may have been hospitalized or worse.

Excellent suit from Dainese and Top notch service from Revzilla
After much deliberation and discussion with Peter at Revzilla I pulled the trigger on the Laguna Seca Evo. This was a major upgrade it my cycle wardrobe.

Fit is typical italian, size up and be happy. I went with a 58 based on Peters suggestions, the tall 58 was my only option with the Red and White combo which looks killer against my 04 ZX10R. For you gents wondering on how it fits well here are the specs. I am 220lbs 6' 6" 45" chest, 36" waist and 34" inseam, pretty average build muscle wise. The suit fits dang near spot on and probably is the best fit I could achieve given my other than standard proportions.

Off the bike it is tight in the crotch and tight on the shoulders, but this isnt leisure wear so no points deduced there.

On the bike this thing is magic, ergos are perfect, moving with the bike in corners and while under full tuck is unrestrictive as possible. With a proper undersuit you will feel like a MotoGP rider... ahem maybe not that skilled but the proper fit and function certainly helps.

Quality and Craftsminship is second to none as with most if not all of Dainese's products.

All in all..... 10/10 would buy again.

Great Suit!
This suit has great quality. It fits very tight at first since it's a slim fit race cut, but once you break it in (1 track day), it fits perfectly. Love how the suit grabs your body and you do not feel any loose ends and feel like the suit is part of your body.

Slim Riders Rejoice!
First one piece suit, and all I can say is WOW. I use this for spirited street riding.

My daily commuter jacket is a Dainese Frazer Pelle, EU46.
I'm 5ft7in, Athletic build but erring towards slim. EU46 is the perfect size for a jacket from them, so I decided to go with a EU46 again. Even though I tried on a EU48, and it fit well, I still wanted a slightly more aggressive precurve.

FIT AND FEEL: Spot on. People have asked me if I had the suit altered to achieve such a fit. Not a loose area, anywhere. Sleeves come just up to the end of my forearm, which is OK, but would've liked them to be a little shorter for glove comfort. Legs are perfect; so snug in fact that getting in and out of the suit with a baselayer on I have to periodically adjust the layer underneath the suit as I put it on. But of course, this means that the legs fit like a second skin once they're on and comfy. Crotch is OK when standing, a little tight, but once on the bike its gone. I have a feeling the fit is going to only improve as I sweat in the suit and it has time to conform to my body.

STYLE: It's Dainese, what more needs to be said. From the bold white Demon Head on the front, to the red accents along the back and arms, this suit looks as good as it feels. The metal hardparts, and even the speed hump with its metal mesh components oozes quality and attention to detail.

VALUE: I got the suit on closeout at 899.99. So for me, the discount was a major factor. But even if I had paid MSRP, I would've been happy. Its feature laden and built solidly enough that I would have no qualms. I took off one star for value because after all, it is a $1300 piece of kit. Production and R&D costs aside, I hope to see suits with similar safety features for $1k or less in the future, to make track level safety accessible to a wider range of riders.

Air Flow: Perf'd. Can feel air moving though the suit at speed. Of course you're going to sweat in a Power Ranger suit :)

PERFORMANCE AN FINAL THOUGHTS: As expected with a suit that achieves this level of fit, it performs wonderfully. When in riding position, you feel as if you are naked. There are ZERO interfering elements of restriction I can feel, whether on the freeway, or cornering hard. HUGE step up from my mismatched Dainese Jacket and Alpinestars GP Pro pants that with some tailoring I made into a 2 piece. The level of freedom of movement in this suit, especially in the legs and lower body, allows you to focus solely on what's in front of you, not on you.

Buy Dainese if it fits your body type well...you will NOT be disappointed.

Awesome suit
Just received it today. Revzilla ships fast!
The quality of this suit is impeccable. You can really see and feel Dainese's attention to detail. I had a buddy punching me in the arms legs and back and I didn't feel anything even on the minimally padded areas.
The fit is a race fit, If you get the right size. I'm 5'10 and 160lbs with a 32 inch waist and 39 inch chest. Slightly athletic build. I ordered a 48. That may seem small, but it fits like a race suit should fit. Tough to get on and tight, but still comfortable enough to not restrict breathing or movements while on the bike. You don't want lots of extra material as it can bunch up in a crash and you will roll instead of slide.
I cannot speak for durability yet, but Dainese is a top of the line company so I'm not worried.
This suit is awesome.

Love it!
Suit looks great and fits great, I'm not even aware of it when on track. No restriction of movement on the bike and no feeling of looseness or bunching anywhere.
I'm 5'9"-5'10", 158 lb., 32-33x32 levi's, 38-40 jacket size, skinny arms and legs. I went with a 52, a size up from what the Dainese size chart suggests. After three track days, suit is still *snug* around my chest and shoulders, and off the bike very tight at the crotch! Sleeve and leg lengths seem perfect for me. 52 definitely seems like the right size for my size/build.

Great quaility and features
Based on Dainese sizing chart, I ordered a size 50. I am 5'10", 170, 34" waist, 40" chest. Got the suit and barely got it over my thighs. No way to go further. Returned it (painless) and ordered a size 54. 54 fits great. Wanted a little extra room to fit a back protector if desired for trackday level 3 riding. Fit is "race fit", and should mold in after a few sessions.

Awesome Dainese Suit
Just bought this suit so have only worn it once on a spirited street ride, but will be used for both street and track days. This thing feels good and fits amazingly well when on the bike. Off the bike it's tighter in the crotch and chest as other riders mentioned, so much so that you can't really stand up straight, but of course that's not what it's designed for. Overall the suit of excellent quality and feels pretty solid.

As for sizing, I'm 5'-11", 180-185 lbs, fairly athletic/muscular build with a 41" chest and normally a 32" in jeans. Originally I went with a size 54 in the suit based on going up a size from my current leather jackets. The 54 was snug, but there was still a lot of extra room and folding, especially around the waist. I was looking for a tighter race fit, so I ordered a 52 as well to compare. The 52 is definitely spot on. It was uncomfortably tight and difficult to put on at first (an undersuit is a must), but fits a lot better now that it's beginning to break in more. Returning the 54 was so easy with Revzilla's awesome service.

Highly recommend this suit and would definitely buy again, especially from Revzilla!

I really like the quality of this suit, and it's already protected me very well in a 60mph low-side on a track. Size has been a bit of an issue for me though. I'm not a really big guy, but my arms still get squeezed so much by this suit that I end up with limited mobility and get crease marks in my arms similar to what you can get from an arm pressure cuff etc. Getting them loosened up by a local tailor.

Hi I'm looking for this suit, but really don't know which size to bought between 48euro or 50euro?? I'm 5p7 155lbs, 38'' chest (w/o backprotector), wear 33 jeans. If someone have size similar like me, which size have you choice? I'm wearing a 48euro in Dainese Jacket.
Kevin G on Mar 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm 5'"6
Weigh 155 and got the 50. I almost sent it back but wore it at home a couple times and it's just right overall. Except it's very tight on my thighs. I don't lift but relatively muscular legs so food do thought. I got an under suit to help slide in an out.
Hello, does this suit include an internal pocket to insert the back protector? Or do I have to wear a separate back protector unde the suit?

BEST ANSWER: Good question, unfortunately it does not!! But that did not stoped me from buying this amazing suit. I had my doubts regarding the size but asisted to Revzilla store in Philly to check it out, they were great answering all my questions. Then I decided to buy it!!
hey im 6.3 135 pounds odd and athletic build , can u suggest a size ? after reading certain reviews i dont quite trust the size chart too much.

BEST ANSWER: at your height the crotch is going to kill and you will most likely have a moose knuckle even in a tucked position with the one piece. The two piece may be a better option. At 135 lbs they may be too loose around your mid section. If I were you, Id buy an undersuit and run around and try some different ones on at the dealers. You sound like your build would warrant a custom suit :-(
Hi! I'm a newbie to race suits, and would like to know what armor is generally used with one of these? Would you just wear a back protector, or would you also wear armored shorts, chest protection etc?

Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Talking specifically about this race suit you need to purchase a separated back protector cause it does not have pouches for fitting a back protector. Now talking about overall and complete protection it depends on you. I use a race suit on every single ride no matter if I am on the track or just cruising some curves in Cuernavaca Mexico. Some guys think is to much but I have already visit the ants one time and now I feel safe wearing this everytime. You could also incorporate chest protector it does have a special pouch for it if you like, just take in account that if you add more portection probably you need to go a size bigger, depends on your build, cause in the end we are talking of leather and it tends to stretch a little bit.Hope this helps.
Hey from Aus.
I'm 6"1, and 176(ish) pounds and I have a track day coming up so I cant get my size wrong. Will a size 52 euro fit me well? Also does this suit ship to australia?

BEST ANSWER: Josh.....No question, it's a great suit. I'm 6'1 and 195 so I ended up in a 56 as I needed some room for a Force field protection vest. I started smaller but Revzilla service was great with the changes. Given the potential variations with torso and inseam and if you intend to go with some form of body armour, i hope the info here is helpfull. it's a comfortably snug fit if that makes sense but feels great when on the bike. Again....great suit so you can't go wrong. Have a great riding season ! JL
I was looking into getting this suit but I am uncertain on if I should get the 48 as recommended by Revzilla, or take a chance and get the 50. I am looking into a snug tight fit, but not constricting while on the bike.

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 163

Waist: 32-33

Chest: 37.5 without a chest/back protector, and just under 40 with one on.

Size suggestions?

BEST ANSWER: I'm about your size I think. I wear 32-33 waist by 32 inseam Levi's, 5'10", 160 lb., wear a 38 jacket usually, sometimes 40. Going strictly by the Dainese size chart, 50 should be a perfect fit for me, but based on feedback from others I went a size up to 52, and I'm glad I did! 52 is snug on me even after a few track days. I would bet that a 48 would be SUPER tight on you to the point of it being an issue getting in/out of the suit, as well as being constrictive while wearing it. I'd go with the size 50 at least, maybe 52. If I were ordering again today I'd still get the 52.
Are the Manis G2 back protector and In-style dainese boots compatible with this suit?
Raymond A on Apr 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes they both are. The back protector is compatible and I know this because I have that exact setup and as for boots I have the "out" boots, but I know the in style will work too.
Hi, I hesite between size 48 or 50 ?? I'm 5p7, 155lbs. I wear 33 jeans, chest 38'' w/o back protector. Revzilla recommand me size 50 but my Dainese jacket is 48?? If someone is near my size wich size have you bought?
A shopper on Mar 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm very close to your size, just about 5lbs heavier but same height. For me the size 48 was way too tight, I would go for the 50 unless you want the very tight fit.
I'm 5' 10" 140lb with a 38 chest and 29" hip. Slim build. Should I go with a 50 or a 48? Will be wearing a back protector as well. I'm afraid of ording the 50 and once it breaks in, not backing a snug fit any more. Thanks.
VicSanchez on Jan 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm 5'10 155lb. 40 chest. The size 52 was way to tight on my upper body and I could hardly stand up. Returned it and bought A-star suit. I think the 52 would fit you.
What back protectors are compatible/ recommended for this suit?
Carlos F. A on May 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I use the wave air. It is a bit tight, but in a good way. I see a few guys at the track using the Manis as well.
