Dainese Laguna Seca EVO Perforated Race Suit 4.9 5 14 14
Excellent suit from Dainese and Top notch service from Revzilla After much deliberation and discussion with Peter at Revzilla I pulled the trigger on the Laguna Seca Evo. This was a major upgrade it my cycle wardrobe. Fit is typical italian, size up and be happy. I went with a 58 based on Peters suggestions, the tall 58 was my only option with the Red and White combo which looks killer against my 04 ZX10R. For you gents wondering on how it fits well here are the specs. I am 220lbs 6' 6" 45" chest, 36" waist and 34" inseam, pretty average build muscle wise. The suit fits dang near spot on and probably is the best fit I could achieve given my other than standard proportions. Off the bike it is tight in the crotch and tight on the shoulders, but this isnt leisure wear so no points deduced there. On the bike this thing is magic, ergos are perfect, moving with the bike in corners and while under full tuck is unrestrictive as possible. With a proper undersuit you will feel like a MotoGP rider... ahem maybe not that skilled but the proper fit and function certainly helps. Quality and Craftsminship is second to none as with most if not all of Dainese's products. All in all..... 10/10 would buy again. July 17, 2015
This suit saved my life So today, I was riding in the Angeles Crest highway 2 canyons. I was wearing this suit, Dainese Boots, Sedici gloves and an AGV Rossi helmet. Long story short I lost traction in the rear, speed wobbled, ran way wide, recovered and then high sided at 80mph. I am so lucky I was wearing this suit. I slid about 25 feet before tumbling off into the rocks and dirt. The hard metal plate on my right shoulder busted off and was destroyed. The right arm somehow ripped open on the inner section. I walked away with some whiplash and a cut on my finger because my glove fell off. This suit saved my life. BUY IT. I will never wear a suit other than Dainese. If I was not wearing it I may have been hospitalized or worse. July 12, 2015
Awesome suit Just received it today. Revzilla ships fast! The quality of this suit is impeccable. You can really see and feel Dainese's attention to detail. I had a buddy punching me in the arms legs and back and I didn't feel anything even on the minimally padded areas. The fit is a race fit, If you get the right size. I'm 5'10 and 160lbs with a 32 inch waist and 39 inch chest. Slightly athletic build. I ordered a 48. That may seem small, but it fits like a race suit should fit. Tough to get on and tight, but still comfortable enough to not restrict breathing or movements while on the bike. You don't want lots of extra material as it can bunch up in a crash and you will roll instead of slide. I cannot speak for durability yet, but Dainese is a top of the line company so I'm not worried. This suit is awesome. July 4, 2015
Love it! Suit looks great and fits great, I'm not even aware of it when on track. No restriction of movement on the bike and no feeling of looseness or bunching anywhere. I'm 5'9"-5'10", 158 lb., 32-33x32 levi's, 38-40 jacket size, skinny arms and legs. I went with a 52, a size up from what the Dainese size chart suggests. After three track days, suit is still *snug* around my chest and shoulders, and off the bike very tight at the crotch! Sleeve and leg lengths seem perfect for me. 52 definitely seems like the right size for my size/build. June 21, 2015
small in the chest The suit is super high quality and I give it five stars. However, I have two small gripes. For me, the suit is proportionately small in the chest. I'm 5'9 150 lbs and in very good shape (bought a size 50). This suit seems to be designed for those people with a flat chest and not a lot of back muscles. Also, the material in the knee is not very soft and it gives me 'rug burn' on my inner knee caps. May 19, 2015
Love this suit I had the last incarnation of the Laguna Seca and this new suit doesn't disappoint. I have an athletic build and this suit fits a lot better than the old suit especially when I'm off the bike making for a much more comfortable track day. April 20, 2015

Andrew R: I'm 5'"6
Weigh 155 and got the 50. I almost sent it back but wore it at home a couple times and it's just right overall. Except it's very tight on my thighs. I don't lift but relatively muscular legs so food do thought. I got an under suit to help slide in an out.

William D: I purchased a Dainese suit in Euro 52 which fits me very well. I am 5'71/2" tall with a 41 inch chest. I would recommend the Euro 50 for you. Hope this helps. Mar 23, 2015

James V: I'm 5'9" 160lbs 40 chest. 32 waist. Bought a 52 and it was way too tight in the chest and upper shoulder area I couldn't even stand up. Accourding to the size chart, I was a 50.
I returned it and bought A-Star suit 52.
These suites run small. 52 should fit you.

dennis s: at your height the crotch is going to kill and you will most likely have a moose knuckle even in a tucked position with the one piece. The two piece may be a better option. At 135 lbs they may be too loose around your mid section. If I were you, Id buy an undersuit and run around and try some different ones on at the dealers. You sound like your build would warrant a custom suit :-( Feb 19, 2015

Jonathan O: I would recommend going up a size. I am 5'9, 165 lb, and 40 chest. I own a lot of Dianese gear and I am typically a 50 in their jackets. I bought this suit in a 50 and it was way too small - I literally couldn't breathe when I zipped it up. I returned it for a size 52 which fits perfectly. Very happy with the purchase. Feb 19, 2015

William D: This is a lot of suit for the money. At 160 lbs and 5'9" the size 42 fit me very well. I would guess a size 38 would be about right for you. If you can get to the store in Phila you can try one on or I'm sure they will send you a suit which can be exchange for another size if necessary. Feb 19, 2015

James V: I'm 5'9" 160# and a 52 was way too tight. The crotch to shoulder is very short and the rest of the suit is very snug. A 54 euro would be your size. these are made for skinny people. Mar 23, 2015

Stuart L asked: Hi! I'm a newbie to race suits, and would like to know what armor is generally used with one of these? Would you just wear a back protector, or would you also wear armored shorts, chest protection etc?

Thanks!

Alfredo A: Talking specifically about this race suit you need to purchase a separated back protector cause it does not have pouches for fitting a back protector. Now talking about overall and complete protection it depends on you. I use a race suit on every single ride no matter if I am on the track or just cruising some curves in Cuernavaca Mexico. Some guys think is to much but I have already visit the ants one time and now I feel safe wearing this everytime. You could also incorporate chest protector it does have a special pouch for it if you like, just take in account that if you add more portection probably you need to go a size bigger, depends on your build, cause in the end we are talking of leather and it tends to stretch a little bit.Hope this helps. Cassie C: I wear a back protector with this suit. No shorts needed. I've been considering chest protection. There is a little room left in it for me to do that, and the leather is still stretching so it should be fine to do. Dec 31, 2014

John L: Josh.....No question, it's a great suit. I'm 6'1 and 195 so I ended up in a 56 as I needed some room for a Force field protection vest. I started smaller but Revzilla service was great with the changes. Given the potential variations with torso and inseam and if you intend to go with some form of body armour, i hope the info here is helpfull. it's a comfortably snug fit if that makes sense but feels great when on the bike. Again....great suit so you can't go wrong. Have a great riding season ! JL Feb 6, 2015

I found it to be a perfect fit after returning it for the next size up . Sean K asked: I was looking into getting this suit but I am uncertain on if I should get the 48 as recommended by Revzilla, or take a chance and get the 50. I am looking into a snug tight fit, but not constricting while on the bike.

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 163

Waist: 32-33

Chest: 37.5 without a chest/back protector, and just under 40 with one on.

Size suggestions?

Dan B: I'm about your size I think. I wear 32-33 waist by 32 inseam Levi's, 5'10", 160 lb., wear a 38 jacket usually, sometimes 40. Going strictly by the Dainese size chart, 50 should be a perfect fit for me, but based on feedback from others I went a size up to 52, and I'm glad I did! 52 is snug on me even after a few track days. I would bet that a 48 would be SUPER tight on you to the point of it being an issue getting in/out of the suit, as well as being constrictive while wearing it. I'd go with the size 50 at least, maybe 52. If I were ordering again today I'd still get the 52. Aug 4, 2015

James V: I'm 5'9" 160 40chest 31waist. I ordered a 52 and returned it. Was way to tight in the chest and shoulder and tight everywhere else, I couldn't stand straight up. was going to try a 54, but instead bought a 52 A-Star suite that fit better. A 48 would fit Pedrosa. Their suites run very small. Aug 4, 2015

My measurements are the following:

5'10" and about 163 pounds.

Chest is 37.5 w/o a chest/back protector, just under 40 with one.

Waist is 32-33

Hips: 38.5.39

I'm torn between a size 48 and 50. I'm looking for a snug fit but not to the point of constriction when on the bike, what size should I get?

Jacob M: Hello -

This is obviously a tough question.. Unless someone is the exact same size as you, its hard to know for sure. I'll throw out my measurements because they are somewhat in the ballpark. Maybe it'll give you an idea to draw from.

6'1.5" / 169 lbs.

Chest: 39.5 w/o back protector / about 40.5 with back protecto
Waist is 32-33
Hips: 37.5-38

I have a 52 and it fits like a fricken glove - In a good way. I would say its a perfect fit. No loose parts, no unnecessary restriction on the bike. Broke in great for me.

I won't tell you what size to get, but again, we're similar(ish) so hopefully this helps you decide.

Alfredo A: Do not have experience with alpinestars cause love Dainese but you need to take in account that is an Italian fit meaning probably it will be a little short. I am 5.51 and 160 lbs, 40 inch chest and use size 48. Legs and arms fit perfect everything where it needed to be. Dec 31, 2014

A shopper asked: Are women allowed to wear the male versions? I've seen your women line on race suits but they don't catch my eyes nor am I interested in them.. I like the male versions a lot better... So again.. are women able to purchase and wear the male versions providing the same comfort level? Oct 22, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Josh M: This depends on your body type. If you have larger breasts then no, as the male body suits are not designed to accommodate this female attribute. Also female suits have wider hip areas to accommodate child bearing hips, so if your hips are narrow and you dont have large breasts then you could possibly get away with buying a male suit. Cassie C: Hello,
I am 5'1 115 pounds. I bought a size 42. It fits PERFECTLY. I love this suit. Prior to this suit I was in a Vanson. I did find the Vanson leather to be soft and less bulky, however I find the Dainese leather to stretch better than the Vanson. The stretch in the knees is awesome, I do think I'll need to get that area pulled in a bit after another season but we'll see about that. I love the armor in this suit. Very protective yet not heavy or with a lot of weight. Dainese cut the suit really well for women for super off the shelf fit verses paying extra for the custom fit of Vanson.

John L: I'm 6"1 and 185 and went with a Size 54 first time around which did not work. Too small in the shoulders and too short in the torso. A quick and efficient exchange with a bump up to a 56 solved the problem. It has an excellent overall and on bike fit and accommodates my Force Field body armor as well. Not the tallest rider out there but great beta and customer service from the Revzilla staff solved the problem and there seemed to be no issues with inventory up to my size. GREAT suit and service. with no apparent faults or gripes. Researched several other suits and considered spending more but very happy with the LS EVO.

Ray C asked: What is the purpose or benefit of a 1 piece race suit vs a 2 piece race suit? Same protection right? just 1 piece is harder to get in and out of. Jul 8, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
jeremy t: Ray! 1 PC is the best protection as the suit(1pc) won't move around on impact or slide. 2 PC easier to get in and out of bit creates play where the suits meet, which can result in crazy road rash under the suit in a nares you deff don't want it. The suit should fit like a second skin. Now this pertains to the track but also to the street. So it's personal choice between cost, level of riding ability and peace of mind. Hopefully I answered your questions. Please feel free to ask for anything I haven't answered. Additionally this topic is covered greatly in motorcycle forums! Cheers and good luck mate Jul 8, 2014

A shopper asked: I'm 5'10", 157 lb., wear 32 or 33 waist x 32 inseam Levi's, waist measures 34", 38 or 40 jacket. So, size 50 or 52 Dainese Laguna Seca Evo? Size chart would suggest size 50, but Q/A seems to indicate 52... Thanks! -Dan Mar 30, 2015

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
