Dainese Full Metal RS Gloves

Dainese has used all the experience acquired in racing and in collaboration with the great champions in the sport in the development of this racing glove. The Dainese Full Metal RS Glove is highly protective, yet at the same time providing a great riding experience. The Full Metal RS is built using advanced technology and the toughest materials, such as titanium, carbon fiber, Dupont Kevlar, cowhide and goatskin. The Full Metal RS combines technical solutions with ergonomics, such as the internal reinforcement of the little finger combined with the Distortion Control, a single panel of leather that wraps around the side of the hand, or the insert in the palm to reduce blistering.

  • Composite inserts in carbon fiber and titanium on the knuckles and back
  • Composite inserts in carbon fiber at the joints of the fingers
  • Polyurethane insert on the palm
  • TPU inserts on the head of the ulna bone
  • Distortion Control on little finger
  • PE inserts on side of little finger
  • Certified as PPE to EN 13594 Standard cat. II level 1

Main Materials:

  • Kevlar jersey
  • Kevlar fiber stitching
  • Cowhide leather
  • Palm in goatskin
  • Pittard's leather reinforcement between thumb and index on the left hand
  • Digital Sheepskin reinforcement between thumb and index and fingertips of index and middle finger of right hand
  • One single leather panel to the size of the hand

Ergonomics and Comfort:

  • Adjustable cuff strap
  • Tightening strap
  • Elasticated inserts
  • Micro-injection reinforcement on palm
  • Microelastic elasticated inserts
  • Pre-curved fingers
  • Perforation on inner side of fingers

Other Features:

  • Soft inserts
  • Cover on the tightening strap

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.

Great glove, absolutely recommend it. After reading all the reviews and watching the video, I decided to pony up and buy these. Glad I did, they feel like the best gloves money can buy, and if you're already considering spending a significant amount of $ on gloves, may as well get the best - they're your *hands*, they're kind of important. I bought a M based on the size chart (I was a solid M on it) - I thought they fit pretty good, but after a couple rides they were not as snug as I liked, with some room in the fingertips, just a little but enough to bother me. So I bought the Small, turns out they're perfect, and am selling the Mediums (which I can't return anymore). Next time I buy gloves, I'll get the size I should be and one size down, and return the ones I don't keep. Awesome glove, though, from fit, to protection, to quality. September 29, 2014
Top end quality This is the big boy. Very well made product with very fine tuned features. The control patch above the palm enhances feel and control. Overall, this is possibly the best high end gloves you can buy and it fits my super wide hands. August 25, 2014
Feel, Protection and Feedback The feel is awesome. Brand new, it was hard, but new leather does that. After they broke in ( two riding sessions) The glove felt like silk. The protection features are good and restricts extreme movement, in the event of a crash. Leather is also thick. The feedback you get is also nice. You can feel braking, traction, and accelaration better. I think this is due to better venting and the padding strategically placed all over the glove. I have the White with flourecent yellow/green, for visibility. July 24, 2014
Saved my hands I had an unfortunate encounter with a cager who decided the fastest way off the freeway onramp was through me. I was fully kitted up including the Full Metal RS gloves which I purchased from Revzilla before the 2013 riding season. These gloves had about 7000 miles of riding on them and fit like a second skin. I impacted the pavement at high speed, face first, and one of the first contact points was my hands. I slid several tens of yards with my right hand first slapping the pavement HARD and then rolled/trapped under my chest. The left glove was sliding along the pavement palm down. The titanium knuckles on the right hand were ground down, but the carbon underneath held up. On my left side the slider worked exactly as intended. No seams failed, nothing burned through. Right hand was a little numb from the slapping impact on the ground but no injury. Needless to say I replaced these with the exact same glove. Similarly my Dainese boots saved my feet and ankles in the same incident and were also replaced with the same. Cannot thank Dainese enough for their quality and protection, and Revzilla for great service. July 21, 2014
Saved my arms! I invested in a pair as I really wanted a glove with top safety features. I found the Distortion Control for the little finger to be a little bit disappointing - I was expecting to not be able to force my little finger backwards if I pushed against it but this wasn't the case. There IS a level of resistance just not as much as I thought that would warrant it being effective in an accident but maybe that is just a personal perception. These gloves took me a long time to break in as well, but when they did they were great. I came off my bike high side and hit the ground HARD with my hands out before sliding for a good 20-25 metres. If it weren't for these gloves, without a doubt in my mind, I would've suffered from two broken arms/skin off. Some of the kevlar stitching burst, the palm puck took the brute force of impact and dispersed it effectively. I am truly grateful for owning a pair of these I never ride without them. July 20, 2014
Excellent, after some time to break-in There's a lot of protection in these gloves - and that's why I bought them. For me, that meant it took at least a dozen rides to break them in fully. They are the right size, and statically fit great. But, initially I got a moderate pain in my thumbs, especially on my throttle hand, while riding. Wearing the gloves around the house not only looks stupid, it didn't help much as it's hard to hold a riding pose. Now they have stretched slightly around my thumbs to fit my riding pose they are great. July 14, 2014
Great Gloves Excellent protection, great fit. IMO best gloves out there for max protection. I feel for the folks I see not wearing any gloves pull up next to them and wow I can only imaging slide on skin or leather hope the get the hint. Armor up when you ride you'll save yourself some tears when they have to put your hand back together or remove asphalt from you gashed up hands. Highly recommend these gloves. Perfect fit, no complaints. Thx Revzila May 20, 2014
Best you can buy I doubt you'll find much better gloves than the full metal version. They have all the top features of Dainese creation and protect as well as they look. These gloves did take a bit of break-in before they were comfortable for me. Since then, the fit is fantastic. Airflow isn't bad but I suspect they might end up being too warm for the Arizona summers. March 31, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Thomas K: these were the only brand and line of gloves that all reviewers agreed on. I hated spending this much, but in the reviews of every other line of gloves there always seemed to be a story of someone getting bad stitching, mismatched gloves, or irregulars - which is fine for things you can spot - but I don't want an accident to reveal the defect I couldn't see. Ken C: Best brand best protection. Jul 15, 2014
George T: One word. Protection. I was hit by a cager on a freeway and in spite of smacking the pavement hard and sliding about 30 yards, these gloss absolutely saved my hands. No broken bones, not a scratch, even though the right hand was trapped and sliding under me. The Titanium knuckles burned thru but nothing got to my skin. Cannot thank Dainese enough for the save. So of course, replacing with same. Jul 9, 2014

Jordan K asked: Only question is how does something as awesome as this not grab the CE level 2 glove standard? There are other CE level 2 gloves for much cheaper out there. Feb 12, 2015

Michael R: Hi Jordan,
I haven't the facts to answer your question, however in comparison to the cheaper gloves with CE 2 certification these are by far better quality.
Maybe Dainese just didn't pay for the certification to be done.
I've had a pair for 1 year and after the initial period to mould to my hands, they are now a perfect fit and comfortable as.

A shopper asked: Why is this not a CE level 2 glove for being one of the best money can buy? That is all :). Feb 11, 2015

larry d: Look up the standards for cut resistance in gloves; I think they only apply to work/safety gear.

Perhaps they're not rated by ANSI? I bought them because I had broken my wrist in a way that a sturdier glove might have prevented, and these have the best writst protection I could find. No problems with cuts, although I don't expose them to cut risks, I have hand protectors on my glove, and don't go into heavy bush anyway...

A shopper asked: How am I supposed to wear these gloves? I have the dianese alien leather jacket. Do I wear the gloves over the cuff or under? If i wear them over am I supposed to be able to strap the velco all the way up on the cuff of the gauntlet? Oct 19, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Allen C: You strap the gauntlet around the jacket sleeves, so the gloves will basically always be on the outside of your sleeves. Depending on how much bulk you're packing on the strap area, it may or may not strap all the way around, but as long as you can strap it about half way, you're good to go. Oct 29, 2014

Brian S: the gloves are an aggressive racing style glove that should be worn outside the jacket. I use them with a alpinestars one piece racing suit that fits inside the glove. they don't close completely over all the velcro but I have thick wrists.
hope this helps.

Brandon v: I have the dainese new delmar jecket which I think is a lot like the alian. The gauntlet portion of the gloves go over the cuff. You can strap it down tightly I guess, I never have though as its a good fit without any adjustment. Oct 19, 2014

larry d: Hi. I tighten the cuffs on my jackets (neither of which are Dianese) and wear the gloves on top of and outside the cuffs. I don't really need to tighte either the wrist strap or the Velcro flap. Oct 19, 2014
