nice jacket the fit is good, the price is great. nice jacket weight, not too heavy February 12, 2015
GREAT QUALITY This Jacket is great. The pros: Comfortable all around except the chin area, great quality textile material, true to fit, awesome design, great elbow/forearm/shoulder protection. The cons: Does not come with a back protector, the strap bellow your chin is uncomfortable. November 10, 2014
Great colour, true to size, stylish jacket Bought this jacket 2 weeks ago from Revzilla. This jacket is true to size. I'm 6' tall, about 180lbs with somewhat athletic build. I normally wear size US44/Euro54 both Alpinestars and Dainese. This jacket is an unexceptional one, fits like a glove Quite frankly, it is expensive as a textile jacket, but keep in mind you get what you pay for. I haven't tested it under extremely hot weather. However, it does flow good amount of air through the two vents on the chest and gets out from the back of the jacket. I would assume that it will perform pretty good from 10 to 30 degree celsius. Pretty much for spring, summer and fall. This jacket does not come with base layer and is not waterproof. I would say it's perfect for 3 season riding, very stylish jacket! Highly recommended! Awesome Jacket!! This is my first Dainese jacket that I bought to replace my other textile jacket. I must say that I am very impressed. At first it was snug and didn't feel right, but John @RZ clarified with me that this is how Dainese fits and that my body was used to the other looser fitting jacket. So after a few rides, I got used to it and the overall feel of it is just amazing. The material is second to none and it gets air in. The styling is very nice and not heavy at all. I have not experienced extreme hot weather yet here in Houston since it's only May, but I'm sure this jacket will do just fine. This is my first, but definitely not last Dainese jacket. You won't be disappointed with this jacket. May 6, 2014
Comfortable lightweight textile jacket 5'7", 155lbs. Ordered a 48 first time, I doubt any other size would fit better. Sleeves are just a hair longer than perfect for me but more than do-able. End of sleeves have two snap positions. If you want to snap tight, the jacket folds over in a weird way that cramps the zipper. Considering adding a snap between the two, if the local tailor thinks they can do it and it be durable. The cordura is nice but the jacket is just one layer of cordura and the liner. Not the most confidence inspiring for abrasion resistance on a sustained slide, I've been wearing long sleeves under it and considering seeing if the tailor can sew a breathable kevlar mesh liner in between the factory jersey liner and the outer shell. The elbow/forearm protection feels like it will stay in place well and has a good range of coverage without being uncomfortable. Shoulder sliders are nice, as is the CE shoulder armor, which may require a little adjustment upon initially putting the jacket on but will stay in place otherwise if the jacket is a good fit. I don't have the back protector but the slot is there for when I'd like to upgrade. Would be nice if it had spots for chest protection as I'm torn between getting a chest/spine protector to wear underneath in lieu of the Dainese Wave back insert. Chest/back vents are nice. Riding on a 50*F night is comfy as can be wearing long sleeve compression shirt underneath and the jacket with the vents closed. Riding on a cloudless 85*F day is just as comfortable when the vents are open but you start to feel the heat build at sustained stops. 100*F summers will really be a test for both this jacket's breathability and your ability to stay hydrated. All in all, a good jacket. Not outrageously priced, but in a good range with good features from a good company. If you're looking for a non-mesh textile jacket in this price range, give the Aspide some consideration. May 5, 2014
I love this Jacket! General/good stuff: I bought this jacket since I was looking for a warm weather jacket, and mainly for street/canyon riding. It really is a great jacket! The looks and style are second to none! I love the possibility of joining it with my textile pants and create a sort of 2-piece riding suit. It is lighter and fresher than a leather jacket, howeve, I have to say that if the temperature is significantly high (over 30° Centigrade) it starts to feel hot. The vents do a good job of getting fresh air, specially if you are in the tuck or "Agressive" riding position. In regards to protection, it's fairly good and standard, I love the shoulder sliders, and the elbow/forearm armor as well as the shoulder armor does give confidence. I do recommend that you get a back protector #Wave G back protector in my case# as it fits extremely well and really boosts up protection. Negatives: For really warm weather there are better options #totally depends on where/when you ride# I bought the white/black/red ant it WILL get dirty relatively fast, I actually was able to machine wash it, but a trip to the drycleaner's every now and then would be a better option. Over all I really like the slightly "agressive" fit, the style is really a highlight and you'll get compliments everywhere, and I feel well protected wearing it. Super happy with it and really recommend that you get it! April 24, 2014
Great Textile Jacket Once you take the jacket out of the box and remove the bag you'll notice the quality. The fit was snug but the stretch material makes the jacket flexible. It's even more comfortable when you saddle up. The cordura fabric is just great. The jacket fits true to size. Some may mistake the jacket for a racing leather jacket. I purchased the G2 back protector for added protection. You won't notice the back protector when added to the jacket. The only issue I have is that the side pocket zippers are not easily accessible with gloves on. The same may be true with the front vents. March 22, 2014
Awesome product, would expect no less from Dainese This jacket is great, it fits fantastically, build quality is top notch and it looks amazing, especially considering it's not leather. The only issue is that in Australia during summer it gets extremely hot and it's not very ventilated, considering it's meant for summer. Overall though it's a fantastic product and I'm happy with my purchase. January 21, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?

A shopper asked: Hello! I tried on Aspide Jacket 48 size. Everything was ok. But it was in European shop (Moscow).
So is it difference between Dainese sizes for European shops and sizes for American shops? Or Daynese produces the same sizes of jackets for American market and European market?
Mar 14, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
RevZilla: Currently all of our Dainese products are brought over directly from the Dainese warehouse in Italy, so they are the same items that would be sold in Europe. Thus, the sizing is consistent and if you've tried on a 48 Aspide in Europe, a 48 Aspide here in the USA would fit the same. Mar 15, 2013

A shopper asked: I just want to know for Dainese Aspide jacket, what type of G back protector should I buy, is it "Wave" or "Shield Air" ???
Sep 2, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
SnakePit: I have the wave G1, fits fine.. Visited the Dainese store in SoCal, and have seen the new shield air (was looking to purchase one each one for my Aspide and one for my New Delmar leather). The Aspide has enough of a pocket to hold either. Nov 19, 2012

bkinmore: I bought a size 54 jacket. I put a G2 back protector in it. Fits great.
Can ªt remember where I saw it, but there was something that said what the cut off point was for G1 and G2. Educated guess...L and above = G2

RevZilla: Both the Dainese Wave G Back Protector and the Dainese Shield Air G Level 2 Back Protector will work in the Dainese Aspide Textile Jacket. Check out both of the product pages for sizing specifications. Sep 5, 2012

Lee H asked: Do most Dainese pants zip into this jacket correctly? Do other brands connect to the Aspide? Aug 10, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Chris KStaff: Yes, Dainese pants will zip into this jacket without issue. However, other brands use different types of zippers, so pants from REV'IT!, Alpinestars, etc... will not fit together with the Aspide. Aug 12, 2013

chance g: Yes the pants do zip into the jacket, I'm not sure about other brands but I know the Daniese pants do. Aug 12, 2013

A shopper asked: Does this jacket come with wind-breaker or thermel-liner? how well does it work in the late fall? Dec 7, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: This jacket does not come with a removable liner. There is a sanitized lining that sits between the textile and your skin, but it is not designed to provide any wind or temperature protection. We would not recommend using this jacket in cooler weather. The Dainese Xantum D-Dry Jacket may be a better 3 season jacket to use for early spring or late fall riding. Dec 10, 2012
Reply to RevZilla Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Alsips: There are no liners in this jacket at all and it flows air quite well. Depending on how cold your fall is it might not be the best. I've been comfortable in about 50F weather, but much lower than that and you'd want to layer up a bit more. Dec 24, 2012

A shopper asked: Does this have a zipper for pants? Apr 23, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The jacket does have a zipper to attach to pants and will be compatible with any pair in the Dainese line. Apr 24, 2012
Reply to RevZilla Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
SnakePit: Yes this has a zipper that will work for Dainese textile and leather pants Nov 19, 2012

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
